Chapter 29

Drew's POV

After my time in the hospital we stayed in Richview for a while so that I could have time to recover, but we did have to leave soon. Mr. Hayes cleaned up everything so our identities were not revealed. The guards that were in the room with me when I revealed who I was were all killed during the shootout.

For Blair's parents, they were placed in an isolated cell while they waited for trial. Connor's parents were also facing charges and also arrested. Connor was not facing the same charges as his parents, but he did face kidnapping and assault charges. If Blair and Connor's parents are found guilty then they will likely spend the rest of their life in federal prison.

Once our agency was able to search through all of the Vanderbilt's and Duncan's records they discovered all the illegal activities they were committing besides the ones we were investigating them for. Blair's mother faced additional charges for what she did to me and Blair.

My siblings told my parents everything about me and Blair when I was in the hospital, but I talked to them about it once I woke up from the coma. They were concerned at first, but they told me that they supported me. I didn't tell Mr. Hayes because I didn't want to affect the investigation.

I won't be able to work for a while, but I can still help my siblings on missions in the background with research and strategizing. I haven't told Blair yet that I have to leave however. I don't want to add anything else on her plate of stress.

Since Blair's parents were arrested and the company was halted due to the investigation, a lot of things were changing. One major change was that all of the Vanderbilt wealth and shares were handed to both Blair and her older sister. Apparently they had everything under Blair and Charlotte's name so that if things went wrong they wouldn't lose everything. In a matter of a month Blair went from being a child of a billionaire to becoming a billionaire.

Because I had to talk to Blair and tell her that I have to leave soon, I asked Navy to drive me over to see her. I was still not allowed to drive on my own. Since Blair and her little brother are still staying over at Kendall's, I asked Navy so he can also talk to Kendall. They never got into a relationship, but he still wanted and needed to let her know that we were leaving.

"You ready?" Navy asks as he parks the car.

"No. You?"

"Not really. This part is never fun"

"It has never been this hard for me"

"Well that is because you have never loved them before"

"I know. I don't know how she is going to react. I honestly don't even know how I am going to tell her"

"I know it is going to be hard, but you have to tell her"

"I know" I sigh. We get out of the car and ring the doorbell. The nerves are building more and more. A little boy answers the door.

"You must be Declan" I look down at him.

"Yeah I am" he smiles. He is so adorable, for a kid. He has a resemblance of Blair.

"Declan what did we say about opening the door" Blair scolds her brother as she walks up behind him.

"Not to"

"Then why did you open it?"

"Because they rang the doorbell" he is so innocent. Navy and I both laugh at his response.

"Go play or something" Blair smiles and rolls her eyes. The little boy runs off.

"Hi" she smiles at me.
