Chapter 12: The Inhibitor Chips

As the batch stare at the human standing a few inches away from them Kaiya focused on the glimpse of armor more than anything else and knew exactly who it was.

"Rex?"

The man approached the batch removing the hood answering Kaiya's question as to if it was Rex or not and it was, his short blonde hair very easy to spot and make clear that it was Rex.

"Great! Another clone, this isn't a clone club house you guys."

Cid walked off and let them be with Rex and catch up with him.

"Rex where have you been?"

"I've been everywhere Echo, Cut told me that you guys stopped by his place, I didn't think you guys would be alive after what happened but it seems I was wrong, and so I came here after a friend of mine saw you boys around this area."

"Well were happy to see you Rex, what were you up to? Cut told us you were finding out information about the inhibitor chips."

"Yes Kaiya, I was, and was finding other clones that survived or in hiding. The inhibitor chips are dangerous Kaiya, have you boys have them removed? Also where's the sniper?"

"There were complications with him Captain, and no we do not have them removed we didn't believe it was something big to worry about."

Rex quickly stands in front of all of them attempting to reach for his blaster, Hunter's heightened senses kicking into action.

"Rex?"

"Those chips make you a threat to everyone around you, even the kid, your all ticking time bombs. What's in your head is more dangerous than you can imagine, I've seen what happens when the chip activates and I don't want to bury any more of our brothers. Trust me, it is not something you can control, I couldn't, it's a risk you do not want to take."

The room went silent until Rex eased off on his blaster tucking it away behind his robes.

"How do suggest we get them out?"

"Great question, I'll stay in touch."

Everyone nods at him and before Rex left Omega ran up to Rex hugging him, Rex quickly turning around and getting onto her level.

"Who's the girl?"

"Omega, she's a clone, or at least we believe she is."

"I've seen many clones in my days, but never one like you."

Rex watches Omega as she curiously looks at him a smile on her face.

"Your a generation 1."

"Now how did you know that?"

"From the lines in your face."

"She's a curious one Rex, she was on Kamino for most of her life working side by side with Nala Se until she warned us it was too dangerous on Kamino and we went to get her and now she's with us."

"Keep a good eye on her Kaiya, that goes for all of you boys too. I'll contact you as soon as I find a place to get the chips removed."

Everyone nods at Rex and they watch as Rex leaves heading back out to his ship conveniently located right next to where the Marauder was in the hangar.

"So what now?"

"Well, we don't do another mission for Cid until we get the chips removed, then we'll return here and ask what's next, but this place we could be going to could be dangerous and the Empire could find us, so I want you all to be on high alert and keep Omega safe."

Kaiya explains to the batch everything about what could possibly go down on the planet they didn't know they were going to next to the chips removed.

As soon as Kaiya finishes wrapping up her speech and talking to them about it they return to the Marauder where the stay on the ship patiently waiting for Rex's transmission to come in.
