Chapter 15: Affair

After leaving Cera's home Kaiya felt deeply devastated, she wanted her to go with her, join her on her journey's with Crosshair but she knew it was her decision and her decision was to stay.

"So Crosshair, did you manage to talk with the Commander?"

"Before I realized you left? Yes, I was. He's going to be leading this mission."

"Ok? But aren't you the Commander?"

Crosshair nods.

"I am but he's taking over operations for this mission, and this mission only, he said he'll inform us on the shuttle."

"Yup, that's Cody."

Crosshair smiles and heads back to the base where Cody was standing right by the shuttle watching them come in.

"Your late."

"Better late than never Cody."

"General? What are you doing here?"

"No time to explain Commander, let's get going."

Cody agreed and walked onto the ship curiously keeping an eye on Kaiya and Crosshair. Mainly Kaiya who didn't look pleased to see Cody which made him curious as to why she was.

As soon as they got onto the shuttle the shuttle lifts off the ground jumping into hyperspace while Cody briefs Kaiya, Crosshair, and the rest of the troopers of the mission.

"This base is heavily guarded with battle droids so be prepared, they may have more weaponry that we think. Our goal is to retrieve the imperial officer that was taken by these forces and bring him back here, any questions from here?"

"No sir, but I thought the battle droids were decommissioned a long time ago as soon as the Empire took command."

"Droids can be reprogrammed, many of them have been spotted on radar for this planet. As soon as get down we will raid the base and rescue the officer, if there are complications we will fall back and call for reinforcements, if not then we'll continue the assault."

"Sir yes sir."

Kaiya nodded with Crosshair and the troops agreeing on the plan of action and Kaiya walked down to the maintenance room on the ship where before the door closed behind her Crosshair snuck in.

"Crosshair I just need a moment... alone."

"I'm afraid you don't get that choice."

Kaiya looks serious at Crosshair grabbing her vybro blade and pointing it onto Crosshair's neck.

"Don't make me kill you."

"Come on now, you know you wouldn't. Not to me."

Kaiya looked down at her stomach that was just starting to show and hide her legs, she pulled back the knife away from Crosshair putting it back onto her leg strap attached to her belt.

"That's what I thought."

"You two break it up, we don't need a blood bath to happen along the mission."

Cody steps in seeing Kaiya angrily looking at Crosshair

"Yes Commander."

"Please, Kaiya, call me Cody."

"Cody it is."

"Crosshair, leave us."

"Don't mess with her."

"Never said I was, now give me and her a moment."

Crosshair rolled his eyes grabbing a toothpick from one of his pouches on his belt and placing it in his mouth walking away, the door closing behind him as he walked off.
