Chapter 18: A Lie

As the Marauder travels through hyperspace Kaiya sits up front with Tech up front monitoring comms and everything else while Crosshair stayed in his barracks on the ship, Wrecker showed off more of the ship to Omega, Echo stayed in his barracks and Hunter was up front seated behind Kaiya spinning his knife around his fingers.

"Where'd you learn to do that Hunter? Have you ever messed up on your spinning?" Kaiya asks spinning around the chair, Hunter smiling at her.

Without Hunter replying to Kaiya he removed one of his gloves to show a large scar around the palm of his hand.

"I've only ever messed up on my spinning of my knife once, but it was back when we were all cadets, it's been quiet awhile since I've had it happen."

"Well, then let's hope that doesn't happen again."

"Trust me, it won't, out of any of us the soldier with the most amount of enhancements is me, and Crosshair."

"Well that would explain why you too are so close as brothers."

"We all are Kaiya."

"I know Hunter."

Kaiya smiled and Hunter nodded putting his glove back on going back to spinning his knife while Tech who looked more tired than ever looked back and forth from looking at Kaiya to the controls.

"Everything alright Tech?"

"Yes, everything is just fine, why ask?"

"I've seen you looking at me quite often, you sure your alright?"

"Trust me, you would know if something is off with me."

"That's true." Kaiya smiled with Tech letting out a light chuckle.

"How do you feel about Crosshair being back Tech?"

Tech felt ill, he wasn't sure how to respond and Kaiya knew that he didn't know what to say.

"Tech, it's alright, you can be honest with me. Crosshair has been honest with me this whole time I've been with him."

"I see, I'm glad to have him back Kaiya, he is still our brother no matter what he decides to do, and he will always be a father to your daughter. Have you come up with a name yet may I ask?"

"It was a difficult decision Crosshair and I had to make, but I think her name will be Kiri."

"Short for your nickname Kira, I like it." Tech adds with a smile.

"So what is this planet Pabu exactly?"

"You'll see. Soon."

Kaiya rolled her eyes and laid back as far as she could go in the chair resting her eyes while Tech continued his work not worried or concerned about Kaiya.

As soon as the Marauder jumps out of hyperspace the ship lands on a platform Kaiya staring out from the ship looking onward at the ocean and the other islands surrounding the planet and not just the one they were on.

"Tech, this place is beautiful, now I see why you didn't want to tell me about it because you knew I wouldn't understand or even believe this place was going to be as nice as it is."

Tech smiled with a nod before replying back to her.

"You haven't seen everything yet Kaiya."

Kaiya smiled bright and slowly collected herself to her feet walking off the Marauder stepping foot onto the island the ocean blue sky all around them.

Kaiya was stunned, she never heard about the planet Pabu and how it was an island kind of planet, she loved it, more than she loved Coruscant her real home where she had grown up for most of her life as a Jedi and as a friend to Cera, her trustworthy friend.
