Mike had always been the weird kid in school. He was an emo with a love for black hair dye and black nail polish. He always felt like an outsider within his high school crowd. He nr found anyone who shared his love for rock music, black clothing, and eyeliner.

One day, while waiting for his morning bus, Mike noticed a new student walking toward his direction. The new student had bright and colorful hair, a septum piercing, and a dozen bracelets adorned on their wrist. Mike heard his classmates call them a "scene" kid.

Mike decided to approach them and introduce himself. "Hey, I'm Mike. I noticed you're new here. Do you want to hang out?"

The new student seemed shocked by Mike's genuine offer of friendship. "Y-yeah, that would be cool."

Mike walked with the new student to school that day, telling them all about the band he was into and the concerts he had attended. The new student seemed interested, nodding and smiling, but often looking at the ground nervously.

During their walking conversation, Mike noticed that the new student was starting to feel anxious. They were fidgeting with their bracelets, and their breathing was starting to become shallow.

"Hey, are you okay?" Mike asked, noticing the sudden shift in the new student's demeanor.

"I-i'm fine," the new student said, but it was clear that they were not fine.

"Can I walk with you to your class?" Mike offered.

The new student nodded, grateful for Mike's offer of support. It was clear to him that Mike was someone who could understand their struggles.

As the days went on, Mike and the new student started to hang out more frequently. They would meet after school and listen to music together. Sometimes, they would even dye each other's hair, with Mike stealing the pink dye from his mom's salon kit.

During these hangouts, Mike learned that the new student had struggled with anxiety and had a hard time making friends. But Mike didn't judge, he just listened and showed his support. Mike was grateful that he finally had someone who understood him, someone he could talk to about the things he loved, without being ridiculed.

The two would play guitar together, discussing bands and sometimes even writing their own songs that they hoped to perform someday. Growing close, they started to share more about their personal struggles and how they had overcome them.

It wasn't until a few weeks later when they finally decided to spend time at each other's houses. Now that they had both come to trust each other, it seemed only natural that they would want to take their friendship to the next level.

Mike's house was filled with posters of his favorite bands and a guitar stand with several guitars in the corner. The two spent the afternoon playing music and eating junk food.

The new student invited Mike over to their house the following weekend, which was quite different from Mike's. The walls were coved in posters of various musicians, and there were bright colored lights around the room. But Mike felt at home and welcomed. They shared some of their favorite music, watched some movies and even talked about their favorite books.

Mike and the new students had found each other at the right moment. They were both struggling with their internal demons and pressure from the world to fit into the social norms, but together they had found a way to live in the moment and share their experiences.

As the school year went on, they became close friends, sharing their love for music and art, and most importantly, supporting each other through troubles. They had become each others support system, and nothing would ever break that bond.
