I'm not one to put much before chapters begin, but please note that everything in here is platonic, jfhdjdhdj. It does seem kinda ship-ish at parts, and I apologise for that. That being said, if you enjoy this book more by imagining it being romantic, then, go ahead, but it isn't canon. Anyways that's all! Enjoy! :)

The "meeting room" wasn't exactly formal. In fact, it was never meant to be a meeting room at all. Doc had been experimenting with a new automatic tree farm design, and accidentally blown a huge crater into the ground. Seeing this, Jevin, Joe, and Cleo assumed it would be fun to decorate the hole, lining the sides with glow berries, vines, and azalea leaves. Pearl then came across the hole, later, and added her own unique spin - evening out the ground a little bit and adding in some blocks that weren't just dirt. Her stunning palette of honeycomb blocks, shroomlights, and pumpkins made a vibrant orange floor. Over time, the Hermits had used it as a bit of a landmark: telling their friends to meet them there, building other things nearby. With every person that came, they left a small aspect of their personality there with them. Tango had covered the walls in a beautiful cobbled deepslate and oxidised copper, and Bdubs added in a large square table. Xisuma had asked everyone to meet there, one day, and now it was simply the meeting area.

Grian saw the building coming into view. It was two stories, now, with meetings being held at the top and various resources in chests below. The build had huge clear windows from every angle, and a balcony to allow swift entrances via elytra to the upper storey. It was amazing for Grian to think that this all had just come from a rather large explosion incident.

"Have you added anything to this area, yet?" Scar asked, flying alongside the man in the red sweater.

"Nah, not yet," he responded. Maybe that's why the area looks so nice. It's because you haven't been here to ruin it with your offensive builds, yet. "What about you?"

Scar gestured to a small fountain area. The land around it had been terraformed beautifully, with moss and lime concrete powder accenting the grass, and granite and brown terracotta being used as dirt. Grian almost gasped; the area was genuinely stunning. "Scar, that looks absolutely amazing! When did you build that?"

"Only yesterday afternoon!" Scar beamed. "I'm really proud of the little details I put in, I think. You can't see from up here, but there are plenty of candles and spore blossoms. It helps to just really get that sense of the atmosphere, you know?"

Grian laughed. "You're such a nerd when it comes to building," he teased.

"As if you can talk!" Scar said with a chuckle.

The pair of Hermits swooped down onto the ledge. Grian was rather graceful with his landing - he was quite good at flying, now, he had to admit. Scar, however, practically broke his legs on the comedown. He was apparently fine, and after checking that he was okay, Grian burst out laughing at him.

"Hey!" Scar said. He was smiling, though his face was beet red from obvious embarrassment. Grian immediately felt a little bit guilty for laughing - a little bit. He meekly held out his hand to the other man on the floor.

Scar grasped his hand, and Grian tried to pull him up, though to no prevail. Scar didn't budge at all, causing him to let out a chuckle.

"Did you really think you could lift me? In the nicest way possible, you're a literal twig! An adorable twig, at that, but you really need to be eating more." Scar lifted himself off the ground with a laugh. He winced slightly, but seemed to be walking normally.
