Ophelia Murphy sat in the middle of the cab of the truck, feeling slightly cramped as she sat between her best friend and her father. They were currently on their way to Blackmore University where she'd be attending for the next four years. She was nervous, as this was the first time she'd be living anywhere outside of her childhood home. She'd always lived in the same house with her father, had the same friends, and went to the same school district. Although she was ultimately excited as this meant new experiences for her, she couldn't help but feel a bit sad she'd have to go on without the brunette sitting next to her.

Alyssa Mercado had been Lia's best friend since they were little. They met in elementary school when Lia had fallen, cutting her knee open. Alyssa was the first to arrive on the scene, screaming at the top of her lungs for someone to help as she used her own jacket to clean up the wound. Lia ended up needing three stitches for the cut, as it had been broken glass left on the ground that cut her leg open. Alyssa insisted on going with the girl to the hospital to make sure she was okay, but due to obvious reasons, this wasn't allowed. After that, a beautiful friendship grew. They were inseparable after that, Alyssa basically becoming Ken Murphy's second daughter.

"You're staying the night tonight, right?" Lia asked, turning to the girl next to her. She needed to talk about something to get her mind off of everything, as she didn't want her nerves to overcome the excitement she was feeling.

"Yeah, of course." Alyssa nodded, glancing up only once from her phone. She pulled a hot Cheeto out of the almost empty bag, shoving it in Lia's direction.

The red-haired girl only shoved her hand away, causing the other girl to shrug and eat it herself. "Suit yourself. I'm starving."

"I think they have plenty of restaurants in the town near campus," Ken spoke up, joining in on the conversation. "Maybe after we get everything in the room I can take you girls out to dinner before I head out." He offered, repositioning himself in his seat.

"That would be amazing, Kenny!" Alyssa exclaimed, putting her phone down in her lap. She licked her fingers of the Cheeto dust before crumpling the bag up. "I feel like I haven't eaten in hours."

"You just ate an entire bag of hot Cheetos." Lia pointed out, her finger touching the empty bag slightly.

"It was a small bag, one. And two, that's not a meal. I haven't eaten since before we started this." Alyssa countered, kicking a foot up on the truck's dash.

Lia didn't respond after that, letting Alyssa win this one. As soon as Ken turned the next corner the campus came into view, showing that they'd finally arrived at Blackmore University. It took him a moment to drive to the right side of the campus, and once he had she immediately saw tents of people.
