"I think I lost you sooner than I wanted to,"
Despite having a plan to catch the killer, they couldn't do it until the next day. Ozzie and Lia sat in the dorm room, Ozzie watching as his best friend dropped her stuff off in her room. She'd had a late class, and that way she didn't have to walk to the dorm and drop her stuff off alone, Ozzie offered to go with her.
The others would be patiently waiting in one place, save for Ethan and Chad who were in their own dorm, getting their own things.
"You trust us that it wasn't us, right?" Ozzie asked, causing Lia to stop.
"I do, Ozzie. I'm sorry I blamed you." She fiddled with her hands. The boy stood up, stopping directly in front of her. "I was just scared and I didn't know what to think. It makes no sense for it to be you, I get that."
"Lia, it's okay. I just want to make sure our friendship isn't on the rocks because of some fuckface who likes to ruin other people's lives for fun." He grabbed her hands, "I know I can't promise things are going to be okay anymore, but I do want you to know it will get better."
"Will it?" Lia asked, looking up at him with sad eyes. "Before or after everyone dies? When I finally die, maybe? Cause I'm telling you, I'm not cut out to be someone who survives this."
"You've come this far, haven't you?" Ozzie asked. Lia didn't respond, and instead, a stray tear fell down her cheek.
He just sighed as he wiped the tear away, pulling her in for a hug. "You're my best friend, Lia. Whatever happens, I love you."
"I love you too," She mumbled, hugging him tightly. "We need to get out of here. I have the heebie-jeebies just by standing in the dorm and nothing's even happened here."
"I agree. We want to go before it gets too dark," Ozzie said.
The two walked out of the dorm, making their way off campus. It didn't take long, considering they were speed walking, but they knew that they wouldn't be in the clear until they were back with the others.
It was silent, and Lia held onto Ozzie's sleeve for comfort. She used to love walking, especially walking alone. Now when it came to walking anywhere whether it be in the daytime or night, she felt paranoid. She constantly looked around, her eyes expecting to land on Ghostface standing somewhere in the distance.
"You know Joshua liked you, right?" Ozzie asked, glancing over at the girl.
"Really?" Lia asked.
"He was like a lovesick puppy in love. It annoyed all of us, really." Ozzie responded.
"Everyone knew?" The girl asked.
"Oh yeah. He made it obvious." He told her.
"He was going to tell me something before he got stabbed," She admitted. "Hey, can we talk about Joshua later? I'm already creeped out and getting too much deja vu just by walking."
