"There's something about you, that's got me dazed and confused."

"You don't think your roommate will worry when he sees you're not there?" Lia asked, fidgeting slightly in the empty booth across from Ethan.

They were currently sitting at a 24/7 restaurant, one located within walking distance from campus. It was Ethan's idea, as they'd been walking for a good hour and a half before realizing they were a little tired.

Neither of them exactly wanted to go back to their dorms, considering they were spending a good bit of time together. They were getting to know each other, exchanging words that neither of them thought would ever happen considering their previous meeting.

"He's probably knocked out right now, as it is currently two am." Ethan glanced down at the watch on his wrist before back up at Lia, seeing her eyes on her fidgeting hands in front of her. "You okay?" He then asked, causing her to look up at him.

"Oh, yeah. I'm fine." She assured, waving a hand in the air.

Truth was, she was a nervous wreck. She didn't want to scare Ethan away or possibly say something that might make him not want to talk to her anymore, so she was trying to keep her true personality to a minimum to avoid him having second thoughts about asking her here.

"You think you're going to regret staying up so late?" Ethan changed the subject, leaning back against the back of the booth seat.

"Probably. But thankfully I have plenty of caffeine in the room." Lia let out a laugh, "I should be fine. I've already done all my work and I'm quite ahead of schedule so I think the only sufferable part would be trying to not fall asleep in class."

"I get that," Ethan said. "Even if we hadn't run into each other, I probably wouldn't have been able to sleep so whether I suffer or not doesn't matter."

"You know, I've been here for a week and I've yet to get used to it." Lia shook her head lightly, "I've never moved into a new setting like this and so I'm thinking I'm taking longer to get used to it than I thought I would."

"You've lived in New York your whole life?" Ethan asked, twirling his thumbs that sat in his lap.

"Yeah, unfortunately. Or am I lucky? Who knows," Lia said.

"I think it depends. It's nice to know where you're living but it can suck knowing everyone." Ethan shrugged.

"Well, thankfully New York is huge and all so there's no way I know everyone." Lia mirrored his actions, leaning back. "But I do know a fair amount of people, and I'm unfortunate enough to have already run into a fair share of them at Blackmore."

"Like that guy?" Ethan quietly asked, causing the girl sitting across from him to freeze.

She stared at him with wide eyes, unsure of who he was talking about at first. He cleared his throat, glancing away for only a second before his eyes met hers again. "The- he was in the mess hall talking to you, I think."
