"I think you spend too much time, giving me second chances that I don't deserve."
The room was silent minus the sound of the beeping from the machines that Lia had been hooked up to. She sat in the uncomfortable bed, staring straight ahead at the wall. The constant memory of earlier's events ran through her mind, and she found herself peeling the skin next to her nails.
She'd been at it for so long, there wasn't much left for her to pick at. It was bloody and raw, and despite it being painful - she felt nothing. She felt as if her entire world had come crashing down. As selfish and rude as it sounded, Joshua's death didn't affect her as Ozzie did. Sure, she loved Joshua and would wish for nothing more than to change what happened, but Ozzie was her best friend.
Not including Alyssa, of course, but even so she still never had a friend like Ozzie. He had so much potential, so much life ahead of him, and the fact that it was cut short due to someone who had an obsession with the Carpenter sisters was nonsense.
"Ophelia," The sound of the nurse caught the redhead out of her thoughts. She glanced up at the older woman, the girl walking into the room with soft steps. Because both Kirby and her father had to go help catch Ghostface in some trap, this meant that she was under extra watch by all the doctors and nurses at the hospital.
Nobody was allowed in the room, and Lia wasn't allowed to leave.
As her eyes came into contact with the older woman's, she decided to speak again. "You have a visitor."
"I thought I couldn't have visitors?" Lia's soft voice echoed through the room, her face grimacing in pain slightly from the pain on her fingers.
"Your father allowed one, but only if you were okay with it." She nodded.
"Who is it?" Lia hesitantly asked.
"Ethan I believe, he said his name was Ethan anyways." The nurse rubbed her hands together nervously.
It was almost as if she were afraid of the girl, afraid to say the wrong thing. Lia just nodded, not bothering to say anymore. The nurse didn't hesitate to turn away and walk out of the private bedroom, the door opening up again only moments later as Ethan frantically ran in.
His eyes immediately landed on the girl sitting on the hospital bed as he slowed down to a stop. He hadn't seen her since she was taken away in the ambulance hours earlier, and despite everyone showing up at the hospital to make sure she'd be fine, Ken refused to let anyone in the room minus him and Kirby as he wanted to keep Lia safe. It'd been too close of a call before, and Lia was in a position where she couldn't run or fight back if someone were to try and kill her again.
Despite the fact that they wanted to make sure Lia would stay safe since she was the one who was most recently attacked, it didn't change the fact that they had to talk to her. Ken refused to let Detective Bailey in the room, as despite having his own daughter killed in the attacks, he didn't want to take any chances.
