Special thanks to @Shamishprinkles for giving me this idea! Love ya, girl! Also, I will be doing the stories from first person P.O.V. from now on.
April's P.O.V.
Good lord, could it get any hotter?! I wiped the sweat off my forehead as I made my way to the lair after school. I mean, it was the middle of spring, and already I felt like I was melting!
I opened the manhole and leaped down, landing a little less than perfect, but managing to stay on my feet. Casey jumped down next to me, dropping all of his school books, but he didn't seem to care. I laughed, and he smirked at me. As we started walking, Casey put an arm around my shoulder.
"So, what's up, Red?"
I quickly averted my eyes. Donnie and I... hadn't exactly told Casey that we were dating and... well... it was pretty obvious that my friend still was oblivious to our relationship. I got out from under his arm, trying to be as casual as possible.
"Nothin' much."
"Aw, c'mon," Casey prompted, "You've barely talked to me in weeks! You need to loosen up, Red. You're too uptight for your own good!"
I rolled my eyes, "I'm not uptight, Jones."
"Oh," he continued, "Then you won't mind a—RACE!"
Before I knew it, Casey was racing down the path, leaving me in the dust. And, me being me, couldn't let him have such an easy win. I caught up to him within seconds, laughing victoriously as his eyes widened in surprise at my speed.
"Haven't you learned?" I teased him, "I never give up without a fight!"
Casey didn't stop looking at me as we sprinted through the sewer. Alright, this is getting awkward.
Casey started to gain some ground on me momentarily, and looked over his shoulder to give me a smug smile. That is, until his foot caught on a pipe. He nearly face planted into the ground, and I flew past him, yelling, "Now who's the smug one?"
I rounded the corner and found myself by the garage of the lair. I ran up the stairs and opened the side door, to see Donnie looking through a few files on his laptop.
"April!" Donnie was up in a second, "Uh, why were you running?"
"I left Jones in the dust!" I exclaimed happily, finally slowing down and putting my hands my knees, panting.
Donnie smiled, and as I stood up, asked, "How was your day?"
"Great!" I said, coming closer to him, "I aced that geometry test! Thank you so much for helping me!"
Donnie's grin brightened, "O-oh, it was really no trouble—"
"Still," I cut him off, wrapping my arms around his neck, "You're the best boyfriend ever."
D looked shyly down at me, and I stood up on my tiptoes and kissed him—right as Casey walked in.
"Hey, Red, that was not—" Casey's sentence trailed off as he saw Donnie and I liplocked, "WHAT?!?!"
I jumped, turning around to face Jones. "Casey! I didn't—"
"Oh, sure, you didn't mean to. You didn't mean to completely make out with this nerd!" Casey's face was turning red with fury.
"Hey!" Donnie spoke up, "We weren't making out! And don't talk to April that way!"
I doubt Casey even heard him. His fists were clenched so tightly, his knuckles were turning white.
"You," Casey's eyes burned with hatred as he looked at Donnie, "You... YOU'RE GONNA GET IT!"
"Jones, I don't wanna—" D tried to explain, but Casey lunged at him, punching and kicking. Donnie managed to leap out of the way.
"Casey, DON'T!" I panicked, as Jones rolled up his sleeves and cracked his knuckles. I glanced over at Donnie. He was the ground, wincing and grabbing he leg he'd been injured in two weeks ago. He must've twisted it or something. Casey didn't seem to care about that though. All he seemed to care about was pummeling Donnie into the ground for...stealing me? From him?
I snapped out of my thoughts as Casey once again got ready to advance. Donnie was scrambling to get out of the way, but he couldn't stand.
As Casey's fist flew through the air, I somehow found myself in front of him, screaming, "STOP!"
But he couldn't. I saw Casey, his eyes clearing of anger and filling with shock. Then his hand collided with my temple. I flew to the side, slumping into the wall. I looked up through my half-closed eyes, trying to see through my spotted vision.
I faintly saw Casey, his gaze bouncing back and forth between me and his fists. And then Donnie, struggling toward me, shouting my name.
My head lolled to the side, and I saw the garage door slam open, and I saw another figure—green and red— Raph. I shakily drew my hand to my temple, feeling stickiness, before the simple movement completely drained my energy. My body gave out, I no longer had any control. My head connected with the ground, making the pain worse, and then...nothing.
And... Scene *does dramatic mistral hand movement*
Mikey: What?! NOOOOOO!!!!
Me: What are you screaming about?
Mikey: How could you? How could you leave me on a cliffhanger?!
Me: Dude, slow your roll. Part 2 is coming out soon.
Mikey: yeah, but...STILL!
Me: *rolls eyes* I need to take Mikey to his mental therapy session, my lovelies. Bye!
