April's P.O.V.
Ugh, finals week. The most bittersweet days of the school year. I swept more of my red hair into my headband as I stared at the clock, tapping my pencil anxiously. It had been 30 minutes since I'd finished the test, and I wanted to visit Donnie before going home.
2:45. Fifteen more minutes. Then, freedom! I smiled faintly, trying to plan out the fastest route to my locker when the bell finally rang. Man, who knew history class could go by so slowly?
Fifteen more minutes, fifteen more minutes. I stared at the clock, suddenly wondering if I could use my 'powers' to make that little hand move any faster. I held back a laugh, how ridiculous would that be? My eyes shifted down momentarily as Mrs. Bates looked up at me suspiciously.
Hmm, I thought as my gaze shifted back up to the clock, Well... it's worth a try, I guess.
My eyes narrowed as I concentrated hard, trying to dig deep and will the mechanisms to speed up. I suddenly felt a small tug in my stomach, and watched in awe as the clock small hand shot from 9 to 12— then, a loud buzz... indicating the end of school.
Mrs. Bates frowned up at the clock, puzzled. She obviously knew that school wasn't supposed to end yet. But she stood up, letting the class know there was no homework for today, before going over to inspect the clock.
I was in shock. I... I did it! I couldn't believe that I was able to make it move! Wait, did that mean I had telekinesis? Or was it just a side effect of the pain meds for my head? Or was I dreaming? So many questions whirled through my head. I raced out of the room, grabbing my backpack and racing out into the street, dashing to the nearest manhole and jumping in.
I sprinted through the sewers, my emotions a mix of giddiness and anxiety. I don't even know how long or fast I ran, all I remember is that I vaulted over the turnstiles into the lair, scaring the daylights out of Mikey.
"April!" he paused his video game and jerked his head over to me, "Dudette, you scared the crap out of me!"
"Sorry, Mikey," I panted, "But where's Donnie? I need to talk to him."
"Where he always is," Mikey turned back to his game, and I nodded, running into the lab just in time to see a small mushroom cloud erupt.
I waved the smoke out of my eyes, searching through the haze for D. I found him finally, his face blackened from the tiny explosion he'd just set off.
"Donnie!" I laughed at his bewildered look, "What are you doing?"
Donnie chuckled, grabbing a rag and wiping his face off, "Oh, you know, same ol', same ol'."
I smiled, setting my bag down and coming over to hug him.
"Aren't you supposed to still be in school?" he asked, and I grinned.
"That's what I wanted to tell you! I was waiting in class, and I looked at the clock, and then I made the time change from 2:45 to 3:00!"
Donnie's eyes widened, "What? How can that..." He glanced over at the clock on his desk— 2:51. Wow, I booked it to the lair. D smiled, revealing the small gap in his teeth.
"April! This is amazing! You must've tapped into another part of your abilities!" he hugged me, "You're incredible!"
I felt redness creeping onto my cheeks from the compliment, and looked up to see Donnie's face reddening as well. "Th-thanks, D."
"Let's see," Donnie started going into his scientist mode, "If there are parts of your powers that are just being discovered... that means there could be others!" He started pacing rapidly, "First,mind-reading, now telekinesis... the possibilities are endless!"
I giggled, watching him analyze the situation. He looked up, seeing my laughter, and blushed even harder. Apparently his brain shut down, since he seemed to forget how to walk. He stumbled over his own feet. I tried to help him up, but ended up falling right on top of him.
For a moment, we just laid there, our faces inches apart, my blue eyes staring into his deep brown ones. Then Donnie's face began to match Raph's mask, and my cheeked felt like they were being sunburned, they were so hot.
I laughed nervously, beginning to try and get off of him, "Er, um, sorry, I didn't mean to— mrph."
Donnie smashed his lips into mine, and my sentence was cut off. I wasn't complaining though. We kissed for what seemed like hours— sweet, blissful hours.
Finally, we had to come up for air. Donnie smiled sheepishly at me, "You know, you're really pretty when you blush."
I tapped his nose with my finger, whispering, "You're not too bad yourself."
o.o Awww, I liked that. At first I was like 'eh, maybe I should restart' and then I was like 'oh wait maybe this is going somewhere' and then I was like 'oh, I'm startin' to like this' and THEN—
Raph: and then you passed out from fangirling so much.
Me: >.> Why must you always rain on my parade?
Raph: Why must you always obsess over this stuff?
Me: Mister, I have an entire fandom fangirling with me. I dare you to say that one more time.
Raph: ...
Me: That's what I thought. Bye, my lovelies!
