'Kay, just wanna say, this is the best illustration I've ever seen of the gang. I love Karai and April, and I honestly can't believe the accuracy! Okay, I'm done. On with the story!
Donnie's P.O.V.
I sat in the living room, flipping through the channels idly. April was beside me, her head on my shoulder, which made this the perfect night. I glanced at her dazzling blue eyes as they followed the movements on the screen, full of brightness. I smiled, and she noticed my stare, looking up at me and grinning. I felt my face begin to redden, and turned back to the TV.
I saw April look at the clock.
"Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed, "It's already 1:30?"
I frowned, shifting my attention to the clock. Sure enough, it was almost half past 1. I hadn't even realized it had gotten that late, since usually I stayed up way past that time working. Patrol had been called off tonight, so April and I had decided to watch some television.
"Wow, time sure does fly when I'm with you," I realized how corny that sounded right after the words came out of my mouth. April giggled, kissing me on the nose.
"The feeling is mutual," she replied, before a big yawn escaped her, "I better... be getting... home..."
"Oh, no," I insisted, as April stood, "You can stay here tonight. You're way too tired to be out by yourself."
"Donnie, I'm fine, really," As she said it, April almost fell over from exhaustion. I grabbed her hand, steadying her and walking her over to her old room. My leg still ached a bit, but I managed.
"D," she whined as we entered the room, "I'll be alright."
"I doubt that. You're nearly falling over from sleepiness!"
April flopped onto the bed, but her eyes remained half-open. "I am..." Another yawn, "Not..."
I smiled sitting next to her, "I'm not letting you go anywhere."
"Fine," she sighed, "Just lay with me for a while, then."
I instantly felt my face grow red, "Er, um, okay..."
I laid on the pillow next to April, and she snuggled closer, placing her arms around me and sighing. I brought my arms to hold her closer to me, and kissed the top of her head. She shifted her head up toward me, so that her lips could meet mine momentarily.
"I'm so lucky to have you," she mumbled, and I grinned.
"Not as lucky as I am," I muttered back. I still couldn't believe that she would want to be with me.
Before April could turn away and fully go to sleep, I leaned down and kissed her, passionately. I never wanted to have the feeling of being without her again. She was all that existed to me in that moment, and I wondered for the millionth time how I had lived before I got to call her mine.
We eventually had to come up for air, and April beamed sleepily, "What was that for?"
"For letting me," I wrapped my arms tighter around her, "Get the privilege of being with you."
I don't quite remember what happened after that, but I do recall falling asleep with April curled up beside me. And that's all I needed to know.
Oh, wow, I... I think I need a tissue. That was just too much! *sniffle of happiness*
Donnie: Exactly what was too much?
Me: I wrote about you and April again.
Mikey: well, that explains a lot.
Me: what do you mean?
Mikey: you're a hopeless romantic when it comes to "Apriltello" *does air quotes*
Donnie: Alright, can we lighten up on the whole Apriltello thing? We're dating! It's no big deal!
Me: It is a big deal when you've been waiting for it to happen for the past few months!
Donnie: *rolls eyes*
Me: Farewell, my lovelies!
