See You Later (Poem version)

It was a simple love story, believe me.

It all started with a meeting.

One remembered everything as clear as day.

One misplaced the memory as the night faded away.

They met again.

The universe played a song.

It didn't mean anything, they said,

And they went along.

Same paths,

And then different ones.

One carried the story.

One bade farewell.

For a long, long time,

They didn't meet

Not unless dreams counted.

Until one day

The writer decided to intervene.

"Why does this story keep going this way?"

She asked, and smiled,

This poem is her doing.

So she wrote and she wrote,

Until their eyes met again.

One remembered everything clear as day

One found the memory they'd lost on the way.

They blinked

And the universe played the same song.

Only this time, both of them heard it.

It only took an era or two

But the day is finally here

It only took a chapter or two

But page one is finally here.

So the next time I say,"It's simple."

Don't listen.

There's nothing simple,

Nothing at all, believe me.

When I say... It's a love story.
