Tempest's POV-

I heaved the pack over my shoulder and took one last look at Manhattan.

"I'm gonna miss ya" I whispered and blew a kiss towards the Newsie Square, where I spent the last 8 years of my life. Then I started running towards Brooklyn, knowing that the boys and Spot were still probably at the courthouse and going through Brooklyn is the fastest way to get South and hopefully to a new life. Brooklyn was quiet. There were newsies walking around... and I made sure to stay in the shadows so that I wouldn't be seen. It worked. Nobody saw me slinking around until I got to the docks. There was a beautiful sunset... which brought tears to my eyes. I ran up to one of the railings of the post and jumped on, holding one of the wires. The sunset was mesmerising... I just wish...

Spot's POV-

"Tempest! Tempest where are you!?" I yelled as I ran through the streets of Manhattan. I spotted someone with long hair and ran up to her.

"Tempest..." I started but faltered when I realized I got the wrong person.

"Sorry mam" I muttered and turned away.

"Where could she be?" I repeated over and over again. Suddenly a paper flew into my face and caught me off guard. I reached up and smoothened it out.

"The Jacobs. Thank you go much for having me over for dinner! I had to say thank you before i leave Manhattan! Tempest!" I read aloud. So she left Manhattan! Where could she go then? I thought as I pocketed the note and started springing to the person who could tell me.

"Medda! Medda!" I yelled and pounded on her door. I saw her silhouette open the door. She had been crying. In her hand was a crumpled up piece of paper.

"Spot! How... coincidencial!" she muttered.

"You got it too?" I asked.

"Yes. Now Spot she seemed very distressed... what did you do this time?" Medda asked, exasperated.

"I was being a jerk" I said, as if that would clear everything up.

"You trying to find her now?" Medda asked again and I nodded.

"Well... I'm sure she probably doesn't wanna see you now... but try Brooklyn... she's been wanting to go south and going through Brooklyn would be a pretty fast way to do it" Medda smiled.

"Thanks Medda!" I yelled and started running towards the Brooklyn bridge. There on the bridge was a familiar silhouette.

Tempest's POV-

I stood there looking out at the ocean when I heard a shuffling noise behind me.

"Hello Spot" I muttered, without looking back

"I was wrong" he said.

"That took a while didn't it?" I said, knowing it would probably piss him off but he didn't lash out. I was impressed.

"Tempest I was wrong and I made a mistake" he said.

"Yeah you did, but that's all in the past now" I whispered.

"No look I screwed up! Please give me another chance" he pleaded. I liked this kind of power... even though I shouldn't.

"Sorry Spot" I said, trying to be as emotionless as I possible could.

"Look I don't know how to say this but... Tempest? I love ya" he whispered. And that's what brought tears to my eyes.
