(I will just be talking about origins, ideas, and personal things in this chapter, the story is over, and this part is only for background things about it. A lot of rambling)
Over the course of 7 months I have written my first, complete book. I remember the first idea I had to it. It was inspired by books such as "Flowers from 1970" by astr0nomika, "Ad Astra" by Hellenite, and "Tommyinnit's clinic for supervillains" by bonesandthebees. I wanted to make an original story of my own, and came up with this.
Alot of things don't match up with those later, but I think that is okay, since I spent many, many hours on this.
Alot of things also don't match up with what the original idea was supposed to be.
For example, SBI and Tommy weren't in the original plan within, it was supposed to be a purely beeduo story at first.
A big part got lost on accident, where the library in the forest, along with other things were in, but I realized that long after posting it.
I didn't even think that I would finish it, because most of my stories end up until the first few chapters.I was cleaning the kitchen and came randomly up with some parts of a story, the main idea came from a previously started story, which I never even started.
Originally, things looked more like this:
- the other world had an actual name
- the characters within were very close to their dsmp characters, if not exactly the same
- Tubbo and Ranboo would have a platonic relationship, with a lot of flirting, it was soon completly scratched, as it was very weird, considering Ranboo isn't human
- a full explanation of both worlds existing, though the explanation changed everytime and didn't make sense
- Tubbo killed Ranboo to bring back balance to the worlds, and was hunting Ranboo down
- Other characters were also in the other world, such as: Puffy, Michael, Quackity, Karl, Eret, Jschlatt, Slime and more
- Tubbo should have also had a creature in the other world symbolising him
- Ranboo was originally very little in the story at first, as he was only watching Tubbo
- The other world also used to be originally in a giant cave underground
- Originally Tubbo died shortly after Ranboo and wouldn't have made it back home
- Also, before writing I often considered on which one would die, Ranboo or Tubbo, and settled on Tubbo dying as the last thing before changing it later on
- Tubbo does have some plot armor in the story, but originally, it was way more. At some point I had some of the following ideas: Tubbo being literally revived; Tubbo surviving a shot through the chest/stomach, possibly multiple times; Tubbo having weird powers awakening before he could be attacked, saving him; and more.
- Originally, the world was way tinier than it is now, and it looked exactly like our worldThere were surely lost of other things I forgot. I also have some original character designs somewhere, it was when I was starting the story. I'll check If I find them somewhere...
Ah, found them!
the original designs were alot more human...
I never finished Ranboo's either. I'm quite glad I changed the original designs. The story also almost revolved around Ranboo instead of Tubbo, but I changed it cause I liked the design of Ranboo's creature more.
During my time writing this story, I had multiple phases where I didn't write for days or even weeks. There were also times where I only wrote a sentence for a day, and often enough, I almost dropped the story completly. I often had phases where my mental health was absolute shit and it caused me to stop writing.
If you've been on my accout for a while, you probably already saw a pattern, I have not a single finished story, no matter if heavily inspired, completly original, short, long... none. This is the first ever story of mine to be finished, and I'm quite proud of me that I made it this far, and was able to publish a story I daydreamed about since I made it.
Thank you. All of you. You helped me achieve this.
Take care of youselves, alright?
