Belle woke up the next morning and quickly got dressed. She walked down the stairs and towards the kitchen, not listening to whatever was playing faintly on the TV in the common room.
She grabbed an apple and turned on the sink, rinsing it before taking a bite.
Belle nearly fainted as she walked from the building.
At least fifteen reporters were standing outside of the door, waiting to ambush her with cameras and questions. At first, Belle assumed they'd be about the Stab movie that had premiered the night before.
It was based on the book Gale Weathers had written about the murders committed by Billy and Belle's own brother, Stu.
It wasn't until Belle heard the nature of the questions that she realized it had nothing to do with Stab or Gale Weathers, yet everything to do with Stu.
"Belle! Did you know the victims?" One reporter yelled.
"Do you think Sidney Prescott had anything to do with it?" Another called.
One question in particular made Belle freeze in place, "Did you finally snap like Stu? Was it you?"
Belle had no clue what they were talking about, but somebody was dead and these people thought Sidney or Belle were responsible.
Belle was ignoring them, trying desperately to shove her way through the crowd.
She was becoming overwhelmed by the yelling and the cameras. Belle had only become this overwhelmed once before, during the original spree in Woodsboro.
It had taken Stu and Tatum to get the reporters to clear out and Belle had skipped school that day, instead going and spending the day with Randy at his house.
Mrs. Meeks had thrown a bowl of soup at her as she stumbled through the window. She'd forced Randy to watch her favorite rom-com, Much Ado About Nothing, and they'd had a small picnic outside afterwards.
That night Belle killed her brother.
Belle jumped as she felt a hand on her shoulder, she turned to find Dawnie, a fellow Omega Beta Zeta sister, behind her. The two girls didn't exchange any words as Dawnie helped to shove reporters out of the way.
It didn't take long before Belle stumbled upon Sidney. Belle was trying to slow her breathing as she approached her. Dawnie left to go to her own class as soon as she saw Belle was with somebody.
"Belle, did you hear what happened?" Sidney frantically asked.
"No, but I was ambushed at my front door this morning by reporters. They asked if I knew the victims and if you or me had done it," Belle replied.
