Alexander's mom on the side.
ALEX
I stepped into the pack house and smiled at the usual female attention I received.
The little smiles and giggles.
The brush of the hair behind the hair.
The fleeting glances.
And don't think these were only the single female wolves.
Nope.
From age 13 to about 25 all looked at me that way.
Mate or not.
The sudden thought of mate again put me once again on edge.
What was it about this one girl?
This wasn't normal. She drew me in when I wanted to be shut out.
I wish I could forget about her.
Well that was my plan... but that smile she sent me in bio this afternoon was a curve ball that threw me off my game.
I mean I couldn't get the image of it out of my head for more than five minutes.
She was so beautiful.
She wasn't hot.
She wasn't sexy either something just radiated off her every time I saw her and it just appeared effortless as if she had no idea what she was doing.
Before I realized it I was in my room.
I put myself in the frame of mind for what I was about to do and pushed Jessica as far out of my mid as I could. Which really wasn't that far.
I changed from my t-shirt into a hood and jeans. My school clothes smelt of cigarettes and booze and I knew she didn't like to think of me that way.
I made my way down stairs before stopping at Dad's office.
"I'm going out dad." I said from the threshold of the room. I wasn't comfortable being in his office.
The Alpha's office.
Trust me I planned to stay as far from there as possible.
I didn't want anything to do with that position.
I'd fight it off as long as possible but what can you do when your dad is the alpha?
I was pulled out of my thoughts when my Dad asked me a question.
"Where you headed?"
"The hospital."
I could see the shadow that passed over his face at the mention of that place even though he had tried to hide it.
"For how long?"
"About an hour."
"Alright I'll need to speak with you when you come back"... he checked his watch..."Say 5:30."
I groaned internally but outside I just gave a tight smile and muttered a sure as I walked away from that dreaded room and out of the house to an even more dreaded place.
~
I stepped into the building and up to the front desk.
She waved me away already knowing what I was doing there seeing as I visited everyday at this time for the past week.
I made my way through the now familiar halls and up the familiar stairs and into the familiar room and sat in the familiar bedside table and just stared.
