~ Just a filler chapter.~
Picture of Jessica's house on the side
The drive from the airport to the house wasn't long, it took us only about 45 minutes, not counting the time it took for the shipping company to send a truck with our car.
Fun. I know.
I put down my phone now as I looked up at the house , my new house, my new 'home'.
Jolly joy.
The house was fairly big. Bigger than our old house. Bigger than I anticipated, however, that didn't mean I prefered it.
It was a two story house. Blue and cream. Lots of windows. Lots of space.
Still doesn't mean I like it. The voice in my head deadpanned.
I could feel my wolf's excitement and apprehension. Which wasn't a new feeling, as of late- particularly the last few days she's been like this.
She was eager.
Eager to find her mate.
Me... Not so much.
I mean, yeah I was curious, who wouldn't be with all those stories the elders spin to us as kids about magic and destiny and finding the one the Mon Goddess has hand picked for us all. Most girls, even some guys lose themselves trying to make sure they are prefect by the time their mates enter their lives. But me? I wasn't living my life wrapped around that one moment, one man or woman. I had other dreams other goals other things I wanted to do with my life that didn't center around being the moon to some guy's night sky.
I got out of the car and stretched. My hair whipping across my face as the hars winds assaulted me, bringing different sounds, smells and stories with it. Damp grass of the forest, trodden dirt of the play ground, giggling laughter of children, someone's awesome cheesesteak, the last of which caused my stomach to rumble.
It was almost 6 and even though my wolf was dying to be let out and explore the terrain I knew I couldn't go out this late especially since I was relatively new to the area.
"I missed this place." I heard mom whisper to dad from the other side of the car.
"I know. The kids aren't happy about it though."
Damn right we weren't.
"It'll grow on them."
Like hell it will.
I hissed my teeth in annoyance and slammed my car door shut before making my way to the front door.
I tried it and it was locked. Damn way to ruin my dramatic exit.
I stood patiently and waited for dad to come open the door seeing as presently, he was the only one with a key.
When he finally got it open, I struggled with my two suitcases he carried up from the car.
"Give me that." Dad volunteered taking the case away from me.
"The bedrooms are upstairs. There are four. The master kingsized is your dad and I's and you and Jake can decide between the two Queen sized rooms. The fourth is a double bed and its a guest room." She informed us as she pointed to the stairs with a smile, I could see that she was trying to make the atmosphere lighter but I wasn't ready to stop being pissed about the situation just yet so I muttered a probably inaudible 'okay' as I marched pass her and up the stairs.
