Chapter 12 - Saturday Night Life

"No."

She unveiled the puppy dog eyes. 

"Nope. I'm not buying it."

"Oh come on please."

I tried to give Alli my most serious face as she lay upside down on my bed.

I stood a few feet away, at my desk and chair as I made her aware that I wouldn't be attending whatever party she had been invited to.

"Why don't you go with your boyfriend?"

"He is going but he's going with the boys and if you love me you wont let them keep me hostage in that car for 40 minutes." she begged adding a pout to the undeniable puppy dog look she already had going.

The boys would be Jace ,Christian ,Justin ,my brother Jake and Tyler ,Allison's mate. 

'When is this party anyway''

'Sunday night.'' she beamed obviously thinking my inquiry meant she had won me over.

"I dont wanna go out two nights in a row especially when one of them involves some dumb jock we dont even know."

"Correction some dumb jock you dont know. I know him. He's a part of the pack."

"Oh really. Is he friends with Alex?"

"Why you wanna see your man again so soon."

I eyeballed her."You gotta be kidding."

"Dont think I didn't see that little stare off between you guys in the cafeteria Friday morning."

'I was glaring  because he was staring at me. Im done with that douche anyway. Im going on a date with Jace."

"Jess I still dont think that's a good idea. I mean Jace is a good guy but Alex is your mate. There's no way to break the bond between you guys its just gonna hurt. Dont you remember the stories we use to hear when we were kids. Your mate is your lifeline, When you find your mate If you dont maintain that connection it will eventually kill you.

"That's exactly what they were Alli, stories"

She had been trying to convince me about Alexander and my destiny and shit for the past few weeks but I wasnt having it.

No way would the gods do this to me. It's gotta be a mistake somehow.

"How are you and Tyler?" I asked in an effort to change the topic.

Thankfully Alli took the bait, she knew how I felt about the situation it was very draining to talk about.

"Were cool. Its just that the other night he was talking about getting engaged and stuff and I'm just not sure were ready for that yet."

"How long have you found each other?"

"Well you know by nature it's whoever comes of age first finds out about the mate bond. Well it was just before my 16th birthday and Tyler had just turned 17 he was invited as a guest to the pre birthday celebration and I had had a bad night and he saw me crying by the pool and he says he just knew. Ofcourse knowing me I was a bit skeptical at first but I started to get closer to him and the bond became apparent. Last year I turned 17 and it was confirmed. So give or take you could call it two years."

" Now why couldnt I get a mate like that."

"I'm sorry he's sorta one of a kind"

"Are you happy?"

"Like I've never been in my entire life."

'I wish Alex and I could have that to bad he's such a dickhead huh?"
