Before this chapter begins, I just wanted to preface that this is NON-CANON, and I will try to keep it as spoiler free as possible. Also, to those of you who read my notes, a few things have changed, so do not be surprised if you don't see the things I write. Anyway, love you all <3 and happy birthday Chairish.

"Happy birthday dear Chairish, happy birthday to you!" The group sang, it was Chairish's birthday, and the crew had decided to take a break from the action to do something fun with their friend. The boat rocked from side to side, almost as if it was singing along with the birthday celebrations. Chairish jumped onto her barrel, hands on their hips. "You didn't have to do anything!"
Rose smiled, patting their small friend on their head. "Of course we did stupid, you think we're just gonna forget our favourite bunny's birthday?" Alex nodded, "Yeah, although we wouldn't have known because somebody didn't tell us until last night." He crossed his arms and Rose gasped, offended. "Now listen here, I can't even remember my own birthday, so cut me some slack." The two began bickering and Mari stepped forwards. "We didn't have much time," she said softly, holding her arms out to present a slab of mint-chocolate ice cream, roughly moulded into a cake-like shape. "Aweh Mari, thanks!" Chairish jumped onto Mari's shoulder, hugging her shoulder tightly.
Tyler jumped down onto the deck, dusting his hands off, "Guys, there's an island nearby, wanna stop off and celebrate with a barbecue or something?" Rose stopped their arguing, spinning their head to stare in Tyler's direction. "Like.... With meat? Heck yeah!"
Creaking, the boat beneath them shook as the sound of footsteps came from below. "Oh no, it seems that nobody woke Okay up..." Mari gasped, raising her hand to her face. "Are you kidding me? He's gonna be super annoyed that he missed the song." Rose face palmed, although they braced their legs, ready to run.
What was once a celebration seemed like a horror film now, each member of the crew quietly watching the hatch that the robot-man would appear from. It slowly swung open, Okay's head rising, and...
"Happy birthday Chairish, I have prepared gifts." Okay's robotic voice beeped, his face flickering before showing a smile. The rest of the group let out sighs of relief, before Tyler resumed his place at the wheel and Rose relaxed. Alex sat himself on the banister, laughing loudly, "You all got scared? Oh, you babies." Mari tilted her head, "Alex, I see you were just getting ready to jump off the ship." Alex's smile fell, as he puffed air into his cheeks, "Well, that was a prank, I wasn't scared."
Okay laid gifts at the foot of Chairish's barrel, before stepping away, "Please open them when you can." He beeped.
Some time later, Tyler had docked the boat at the island, and the group were carrying supplies to the beach for the barbecue. "Hey, does anyone know where Kira is?" Tyler asked, "I was busy steering, so I haven't had a chance to see her today." Alex raised a hand to his chin in thought, "I think she did some sort of ritual last night, so she'll be asleep most of today unfortunately."
"Meat! Meat! Meat! Steak! Pork! Chicken!" Rose burst through the two, carrying a huge box brimming with different meats. Chairish was perched on their shoulder, covering their nose from the smell of raw meat. "Please, get the fire started already." She cried, hopping off Rose's shoulder and scurrying over to where Okay and Mari were.
Okay raised his finger, setting the sticks and leaves in front of him on fire, they immediately started crackling, filling the air with the scent of burning wood. Mari looked around them, furrowing her eyebrows and standing up, "I didn't really have a good look before, but take a look at this island..." she spoke, gesturing at the small forest in the middle of the island, "Do you see it? What the trees are made from?" Rose gasped, dropping the crate in shock. Chairish squinted her eyes, trying to see what all the commotion was about, and then they saw it. From every branch of every tree, there were no leaves, but instead, hanging butter noodles. She took off, sprinting as fast as she could across the beach, before being scooped up and carried by Rose.
"That'll keep them entertained while we cook," Tyler laughed, cracking his knuckles, "ever since they joined us, we've been low on food, so hopefully they stuff themselves here and let the rest of us eat." Alex hummed, crossing his legs as he sat on the soft sand, "So nobody else is worried about them being poisoned? It seems like we're relying on plot armour too much." He turned, watching Rose and Chairish sat below a tree, slowly stripping it of its noodles as they ate.
Okay shook his head, "I did a scan as soon as Mari pointed them out, they are perfectly safe." Alex nodded, turning his attention to the meat cooking over the fire. "Alright, I still find it weird though, we land on an island that just happens to have lots of food... it doesn't seem safe..."
The four continued talking whilst the food cooked, and eventually Chairish and Rose returned and collapsed down on the sand. "I love buttered noodles." Chairish sighed. "I'm still hungry." Rose sat up, sneakily stealing some cooked chicken from the fire. "Did you guys see anything else whilst you were over there?" Tyler raised an eyebrow. "Nope, but honestly we were kinda focused on the pasta." Rose said, mouth full of food.
Time passed quickly, the group all entertaining each other as they celebrated Chairish's birthday. Alex had somehow gotten everyone to dance with him as Rose played tunes on their kazoo, even Okay was swaying along to the music. The sun had started to set, causing the group to be shone in marvellous colours. It was simply just a day of fun, and spending time with the people they loved.
"Hey Chairish, come with me a sec." Rose set their kazoo down, gesturing for Chairish to follow them. The two walked a little further away from the group, before sitting down on a small log. "I got you something, it's kinda something I've had for a while, but I never found a good way to give it to you." Rose said, holding a small package in their hands. Chairish tilted her head, "I don't want anything really." she shook her paws, but Rose laughed. "Take it, come on." Rose handed Chairish the package, and after struggling a while, Chairish finally managed to open it. Inside was a book, full of pictures of their adventures with the crew since they had joined. "I know it doesn't seem like much, but our lives have changed so much since the others came along, and I feel like it's worth remembering."
Chairish flicked through the pages, seeing how everyone had taken pictures for the book, she felt tears brimming in her eyes. "You all did this?" she asked, and Rose nodded. "Yep, although Mari took most of the pictures, she's a literal star when it comes to photography." Chairish laughed through their tears and stood up again, running to the group. Grabbing as many people's legs as possible, Chairish pulled everyone into a group hug. "You guys are the best."
"Let's have a toast!" Alex grinned, handing everyone mugs of beer, and juice to the younger ones. "Here Rose." "This is juice!" "Yeah, you're underage-OW" Alex rubbed the top of his head, as Rose had hit him hard before grabbing a mug of the beer.
"To Chairish! And Happy Birthday!"
