We See You

The Silver Circus Arc - Part Four

"No?"

"You heard Ussu. She will no longer listen to you."

Damion's eyebrow shot up as he snorted, "Alright, funny joke my love."

"Ussu is not your love, or anything! And she will not go!"

As Damion was about to open his mouth to retort, a chair came crashing over his head with a thunderous impact, hurling him across the room and knocking him out. Tyler huffed, tossing the remnants of the chair to the side, "He was annoying." He stated, crossing his arms as Alex nodded in agreement.

"Ussu, that was dangerous..." Envy pulled herself up from the floor, massaging her scalp to ease the ache, "Once he wakes up... you're dead, even if you're his."

"Let's just go and think about this later." Tyler butted in. "We gotta go get that dragon."

A short while later, the group were back in Libby's chamber, undoing the clasps around her ankles. Ussu remained by her side, tenderly stroking the great dragon's snout as she continued to groan in pain. "Almost... and done!" Alex took a step back, watching as the huge chains fell from Libby.

"We don't have long! Let's get this done quickly and carefully!" He yelled to the group, who were spread out across the chamber in their respective positions. Envy had been tied up on the floor, posing as if she had been betrayed by the pirates, Tyler by the lever that would raise them into the centre of the main tent, and Ussu comforting Libby.

On Alex's signal, Tyler flipped the switch, activating the mechanical lift that raised them to the surface. The wondrous tent from before now seemed to have changed to one of despair, the shimmering lights no longer reflecting magic, but the horrifying events that had taken place just below them.

"Come on Libby... Come with Ussu, we will save you." The dragon girl murmured to Libby, using her trident to lift her with water and guide them towards the boat. Alex and Tyler looked towards Envy, bowing their heads silently as she returned the gesture. "Thank you." She whispered, as the two turned from her and walked back towards The Crystal Tide.

The once lively circus, full of magic, energy and fun was empty, devoid of all creatures as the group made their way down the path. Alex could already see the remnants of stalls that had been stripped for wood by the other group, piles of cloth bundled on the grass.

"Captain!" A familiar voice called out, as Kira appeared directly in front of him, floating in the air on her stomach. "We did it! Mari tested the strength so it should hold her! Mew!" She spun upside down, grinning wildly. Alex nodded, seeing the other group wave at them from the side of the boat. "Good job Kira, we got... caught up with something so I apologise for being late."

"Nah! No need for apologies! Mew! You guys had the hard job." Kira followed them back to the boat, where with the help of Ussu's elemental stone, they lowered and strapped Libby onto the large raft that had been chained to the back of the ship. Tyler couldn't help but announce his annoyance at the fact his ship had been modified, grunting every time the chains had scratched the stern.

The members of The Silver Circus said their goodbyes to the crew as they got ready to sail, celebratory high-fives all around. "Captain." Mari stated, trying to get Alex's attention, "Captain."

"Captain!" Alex's head shot towards her finally, "Look." Mari pointed to the top of the ship, where two blonde figures were stood, looking down at the crew with darkened stares. The twins of The Silver Circus.

"Crap. They're here." Alex instantly drew his sword, "Tyler. Kira. Mari. Get ready."

Raising his hand, a searing beam of light erupted from Garrot's palm as a glowing staircase made of a bright light formed, leading down to the deck as he walked towards them. "How dare you try steal my property?" His voice thundered with pure fury, as each step he took caused the staircase to intensify in brightness. "You're treading where only fools dare to walk. You came to my circus for a show, right? Well, I'll give you a performance you'll never forget."
