"Welcome to The Crystal Tide! Mew!" Kira squealed and dragged Mari aboard the ship. Some days had passed since the group's run-in with Kai and Oyuie, and the village had quietened down. Now it was time for them to leave. Alex leaned over the bannister of the ship, looking down at Mari and Kira with a smile. Kira dropped the last bag of food down onto the deck as the plank was raised and Tyler readied the boat to set sail. Mari took a seat on a nearby barrel as she looked down to the docks, raising her hand to wave to her brother who was stood beside the boat. "Bari! I will miss you!" Mari called out, as the crowd's goodbyes drowned out her words. Bari wafted his staff in the air, a swirl of black mist creating a hand-like shape to wave goodbye. The ship soon set sail, the crew continuing to wave at the passersby.
Kira rushed around, showing Mari around the ship. The kitchen, bedrooms that they would be sharing and dining area. Alex laughed, before turning to Tyler. "You took a bunch of hits on the island, you sure you feel well enough to sail?" Alex crossed his arms, eyebrows knitted together in worry. "Yeah yeah... I'm fine... That whole 'illusion' thing sent my head spinning though. I really thought I was dead." Tyler grumbled, before letting go of the wheel. "Anyway, Captain. I think you should tell me and the rest of the crew what's up with this Kai... and Cynthia."
Sighing, Alex shook his head, "I don't wanna deal with that right now... I wanna have some fun!" he clasped his hands together and jumped down onto the main deck, gathering the attention of his crew, beaming widely as he looked around at all of them. "Crew..." He drew out dramatically. Mari tilted her head, looking down at Alex as she crossed her arms in her lap. "From this day forward, our crew's name shall be..." As he spoke, Tyler pulled a cord to release their large sail, revealing a jolly roger with a large purple strike over one eye.
"The Purple Scar Pirates!"
"Lame... mew." Kira groaned at the name, whilst Mari quietly clapped, and Tyler chuckled. Alex frowned, turning to face the flag and using his hand to shield the sun from his eyes. "It's not lame! It's because I got the scar!" he huffed. "It's a lame name for a pirate crew... it should be something like... The Kitty Pirates, mew!" Kira said, turning to Mari, "What do you think?"
Mari shrugged, "I have not seen any pirates before. I am not sure what a good name would be?" she said, as Tyler walked down, clutching a newspaper in his hands. "Well, why don't we take a looksie at some bounties and their crew names?" Alex scoffed, irritated by Tyler's suggestion, and turned to look away.
"Unbelievable! I think The Purple Scar Pirates works, and I'm Captain!" He sulked, whilst the other three huddled around the paper.
"Here... these are the most updated ones... Yo! Ours are in here too!" Tyler said, causing Alex to rush over almost immediately. "15,000 for Alex, 12,000 for me... 9,000 for Kira... oh and Mari got one too! 10,000! Not bad!" Tyler grinned, looking up at Mari and Kira and high fiving them both. "Look at the others! Mew!" Kira whined, flipping a few pages. "The Siren Pirates! Mew! Their Captain has a 50,000 Galafer bounty!" She squealed. Mari flipped over another page, "The Silver-Eyed Pirates... 60,000 Galafer... Ours are not nearly as impressive compared to these."
"The Forging Pirates... Captain Cole... 100,000 Galafer." Alex read out loud, his eyebrows raising, "If killing a god only upped mine by 10,000... what the heck have these guys done?" The group fell silent for a moment, before the wind flipped the pages, revealing a bright and flashy advertisement.
"Oh... What's this?" Alex said, picking up the paper, "Silver Circus. A fun day out for family and friends!" he read aloud, "It's a travelling circus! Let's go! We could all use a break, right? This will be a great way to have fun and get to know our new member a little better, hm?" Tyler nodded, his eyes on Kira, who was trying to peek at the newspaper. "Yeah, good idea Captain... Give me that and I'll get us there." He said, snatching the paper from Alex's hands and heading to the wheel.
