The reflection of stars shone in the deep waters as The Crystal Tide sailed through the night, the crew unable to sleep. Kira laid on the deck, staring up at the sky, her eyes darting from star to star as if they were a part of a huge puzzle she was trying to put together. Alex was busy below deck in the bedroom he had been assigned, polishing his sword and humming a small tune to himself. He wasn't sure where he had heard it before, or why it had lodged itself in his head, but it helped alleviate the silence. Tyler stood at the wheel, keeping an eye on their surroundings as he sailed through the night.

Sitting up, Kira sighed and rubbed her eyes, she looked around the dimly lit area before deciding to stand up. "Hey Mr Tyler!" she called out, squinting her eyes to look up at the sailor, "I'm hungry mew!" Tyler rolled his eyes at her whining, turning and leaning over the banister to look at her. "Then go eat, foods in the pantry." Kira let out a long whine, trudging into the small kitchen and pulling open the heavy door that shielded the food. As soon as her eyes landed on what was inside the pantry, she let out a cry of despair.

"What is it?" Tyler burst in, panting heavily as he rested one hand on the doorframe and the other on the door. "The food! It's all gone!" Kira screamed, her hands covering her face as she sank to the floor. Alex soon appeared behind Tyler, peaking over his shoulder. "I ate a little, but definitely not all of it!" he defended himself, even before he was accused. Tyler let go of the door, walking towards Kira and crouching in front of her, "Don't be dramatic, we had months of food stocked up, I'm sure you're just being picky..." he turned to look at the cupboard, before his eyes widened. "Where did all the food go?" he yelled, "Alex! What happened to it?" Alex shrugged as Kira mumbled to herself, rocking backwards and forwards.

"We're going to starve..." she mumbled continuously, her ears hugging the side of her head. Tyler stood up and pushed Alex aside. "Alright, I will find us an island to stock up at. Alex, stay with Kira." Alex nodded, walking to Kira and slowly lifting her so she would stand up. "I don't want to die... 'specially not from starvation, mew..." Kira whimpered, flopping down to the ground as soon as Alex let go. "Are you forgetting we're in the middle of the ocean? Let's fish!"

As the sunrise cast a warm glow over the boat, Kira had bounced back to her normal self, singing quietly as her fishing line dangled in the water. "Don't you just love singing!" Kira sighed happily, pulling up another fish and throwing it in the bucket. Alex was about to respond, before he heard Tyler's call. "I see land! It's super huge too!" The two jumped up and ran to the front of the ship, seeing a huge mass of land. It was beautiful, with large green fields, at least two small cities, and a huge cliff face on one side, holding up a lighthouse.

Kira's eyes lit up as she jumped up on the barrier. "That's... that's my home! You found my home!" she gasped, turning and throwing herself on Tyler to hug him. "Your home...? Like a cat person island?" he responded, furrowing his eyebrows. "Yeah! But it's not called that, it's called Kania! Come on! Speed this thing up!"

Tyler opened his mouth to say something, before sighing and shaking his head "Kira- just go sort out our things, I'll get us there." He smiled softly and patted her head. Alex squinted his eyes to get a better look at the island. "Whilst you're here Alex... I have a question," Tyler began "are we really gonna be pirates? Because I'm fine with it, but it's gonna put targets on our backs, and there's only three of us." He stepped away from the wheel as Alex turned to face him. "Yeah, I think we will, it should be fun anyway!" Alex responded, taking a glance out at Kania. "Then you better start thinking of a name."

Soon the boat was docked at Kania. Kira almost jumped off, running quickly towards the small village and disappearing. Alex rubbed his stomach, "I'm so hungry..." he grumbled, putting his sword away and hopping off the boat. Tyler laughed and shook his head, "We'll find you food... But unfortunately, our guide ran off." He rolled his eyes, before seeing Kira sprint back towards them. "Or maybe not..." Tyler trailed off as she came to a halt.
