8. Take Over

Cleo's P.O.V.

I sit in the hospital waiting room, waiting to hear news of Axel, Connor, and Drew. Parker's condition hasn't changed since I arrived. None of the hospital staff have come to alert me on his condition either.

"Cleo? Is there news on any of them?" Jett asks as he rushes up to me. I look at him, clench my teeth and shake my head. Jett sits down next to me, and bows his head.

"Were you and the others able to catch up to them, and bring them back?" Jett shakes his head, then gets up, walks across the waiting room, and right hooks the vending machine.

"How the fuck did this happen?" I ask, then stand and begin to pace the room. Jett stands in front of me, and watches me pace.

"Looks like Miranda and Silas, broke into the dungeon during the height of the party. And decided to make noise, after the fact to let us know they were there. It also seems the only reason Axel and the two boys were attacked, was because Natalya and Zane were trying to become rouges, in order to be strong enough to take us on. But, their attempt at killing the boys didn't work, as you got to the dungeon before the job could get done properly. It also appears that Zane and Miranda are mates." I stop in the middle of the waiting room, when I hear the last part.

"Momma?" I turn toward the waiting room entrance and see Parker being escorted by nurse Rayna. I rush up to him, and tightly hug him. He wraps his arms around my waist and begins to cry. I look to nurse Rayna as she stands a ways behind Parker.

"Stay with Jett, I need to speak with nurse Rayna." I instruct, Parker nods, then goes to sit in a chair. Nurse Rayna holds a folder close to her chest, then turns and proceeds down the hallway. Opening a door on the right, nurse Rayna gestures for me to get inside.

"Before you give me any update on the others, answer this, is Parker okay?" I turn and look at nurse Rayna, with clenched teeth.

"He is fine now. He and Axel have the twin bond, any internal pain one twin experiences, the other will experience only the pain, not the wound associated with the pain. That is what Parker was feeling, the pain of Axel having his throat slashed and the blood leaving his body. Parker feels the pain that Axel felt, until Axel is feeling better, Parker may still feel the pain." Nurse Rayna explains, I drop down in a chair and hold my head in my hands.

"And the boys?" I look up to nurse Rayna, and the stern look doesn't leave her face. My eyes go wide as I begin to fear the worst.

"They are all in bad shape. It will take weeks if not a month for them to fully recover. They were all beaten, strangled, and had their throats slashed from ear to ear. The doctors are working on them as diligently and carefully as possible. It will be a while until they get out of surgery." Nurse Rayna explains, I nod and drop my eyes to the folder in her hands.

"What's that?" I ask, nurse Rayna looks down at the folder, then hands it to me.

"Emergency forms, in case anything should happen to any of the three. We need permission to either let them die or save them, in the event any of them code while on the operating table." I flip the folder open, and begin to read through the forms, then sign all of the ones stating the boys are to be resuscitated if they code at anytime during or after the surgery.

"I'll be setting up a security detail for them, we cannot afford for those that did this, to come back and finish the job." I stand from the chair, nurse Rayna nods, then opens the door, and gestures for me to go first. I nod and walk out of the room and back to the waiting room.
