Cleo's P.O.V.
An entire week has past since the boys came home from the hospital and Declan completely went against my orders. Luna Tahlia has taken me under her wing, to begin learning the in's and out's of running the pack. I've barely seen Declan the whole week, in order to punish himself, he put himself on the perimeter team. He's been running perimeter nonstop for the whole week.
"Just remember, your job is to be a leader, helper, and above all an example to the rest of the pack." Luna Tahlia repeats, I sit in the chair in front of her desk and nod my head.
"He's still devastated, you know." I look up at her and give her a somber look. My stomach flips, and I feel sick. I take a deep breath in and slowly let it out. Luna Tahlia notices my change of expression, and gives me a questioning look.
"Are you feeling ill again?" I look at her and nod, she shakes her head, then comes over to me. Placing her hand on my forehead, her eyes go wide and she looks down at me.
"It appears you have a mildly elevated temperature. All of the stress and disconnection from Declan is causing your body to become ill. I suggest you go right to bed, I'll have Parker bring you some soup." I carefully stand, then nod as I make my way from her office, then walk down the hall and turn right at the split hallway and head to my room. I get to my room, open the door, and close it once I enter my room.
"Perhaps a bath will help us." Ember suggests, I nod and tiredly walk to the bathroom. I get to the bathroom and go to the tub. I turn the cold water on, plug the tub, grab my bubble bath, and pour two capfuls of bubble bath in the water. I put the bubble bath back, then undress out of my short navy blue sundress. I step into the tub, then sit down and sink into the water.
After a few minutes, I use my foot and turn the water off. I let my mind wonder as I lay my head back against the edge of the tub. I close my eyes to relax, but I feel a knot form in my stomach. I open my eyes, and gasp as I see I am outside.
"What in the world?" I question as I get up from the ground, I look around and begin to hear someone crying. I walk toward the crying noise and when I get to it, I gasp as I see a child with long dark red hair, curled into a ball in the middle of the training field. Carefully, I walk toward the child not wanting to startle them. I lean down, once I get to the child, and lightly place my hand on their shoulder, the child internally jumps, then turns and looks at me. My eyes go wide as I see the dulled hazel eyes of the little girl in front of me. The child quickly hugs me, then grabs my hand and begins to pull me toward the manor. I keep up behind the little girl, and as we get to the door of the manor, I hear my name get called.
"Cleo!" My eyes shoot open and I look at the ceiling of my bathroom. I slow my breathing down, then sit up, I curl myself into a ball and breathe as I try to make sense of the dream I just had. I shake my head, then unplug the tub. I grab a towel from the rack, wrap it around me, then step out of the tub. A knock on my bathroom door makes me jump.
"Momma, you alright? Momma!" Parker bangs on the door, I quickly dress in sweatpants and a loose baggy shirt. I open the door and see a wild look in Parker's eyes.
"P, I'm fine. Was just taking a bath." I say, Parker gives me a strange look.
"I've been trying to get your attention for over two hours." Parker explains, I give him a shocked look and shake my head.
"There's no way, I was in there for two hours. I wasn't feeling well while doing my lessons with Luna Tahlia, so she told me to get some rest." I look at Parker, and his eyes go wide.
"That was over two hours ago. It was after Three when she dismissed you from lessons. Its now almost Six." I give Parker a wide eyed look, then walk into my room and go to the clock that sits on my bedside table.
