Parker's P.O.V.
Once we got home, Cleo escorted the boys to the third floor and placed them in one room in between my room and Aunt Kelty's room. Cleo wanted the boys to settle in before talking with them. That and she also needed to rest up herself. I told her she could go rest, and I'd stand guard outside the room.
"Ah, Parker. Glad to have you back, are they settling in alright?" Alpha Edgar comes up and stands in front of me.
"Yes, sir. I checked on them a little while ago. The three of them are resting, and I've been keeping tabs on their vitals to make sure they stay stable. Even with them being stable enough to come back, things can suddenly change." I explain, alpha Edgar nods his head.
"And your sister?" I look up at him and see the curiousness in his eyes.
"She is resting as well, she practically stayed up the whole week we were guarding them. So, she is taking a well deserved nap." Alpha Edgar nods his head.
"Is what I heard true? The events that transpired in the hospital, when Declan tried to get Cleo to come back to the manor?" Alpha Edgar carefully asks, I nod as I roll my neck.
"Yes, when Declan tried to convince Cleo to leave the hospital with him, she had said no, and he wasn't too fond of that answer, so he grabbed her by the forearm, and tried to drag her out. She swung around and hit him across the face in order for him to let her go." I explain, alpha Edgar's eyes go wide slightly then he composes himself.
"Had he informed her of the danger she could have been in, before he tried to forcefully remove her?" I shake my head, then look down at the floor.
"So, the slap was deserved and understandable. He really needs to be better about explaining situations, rather than going off pure adrenaline and instinct." I nod as alpha Edgar stands in front of me, pondering something.
"You look deep in thought, are you alright, Alpha?" He shakes his head, and comes back to the present.
"Yes, I'm just trying to understand their most unusual and complicated relationship." I lightly laugh, and alpha Edgar looks at me curiously.
"He doesn't understand how much family and protecting the weak means to Cleo. She'd protect all of those that were too little to defend themselves, and fight for them when the moment occurred." I explain, alpha Edgar nods.
"Declan is very much use to taking care of himself, and no one else, so I do indeed see the challenges this places between them." I nod, and hear someone come up the stairs, I look toward the stairs and see Cleo round the corner to the rooms. I watch as her eyes go a bit wide from seeing alpha Edgar.
"Good to see you are feeling rested, after the few hours." Alpha Edgar nods to her, Cleo nods back and looks at me.
"Have they said or done anything yet?" I shake my head and move aside as Cleo approaches the door.
"Will Declan and Mckelty not be joining you?" Alpha Edgar asks, Cleo looks at him and shakes her head.
"I specifically told them that I was to be in charge of any and all matters pertaining to Axel and his two friends. Axel is still my brother and Parker's fraternal twin, they don't deserve to be locked away anymore. They are after all children who were under the influence of a monster so called alpha." Cleo explains, alpha Edgar gives a surprising look and nods his head lightly.
"If it makes a difference, I told Axel I forgave him for what happened, just before we were brought here." I say, both Cleo and alpha Edgar look at me curiously.
"I shall take that into consideration. But, I do wonder, might I listen in to the questioning?" Alpha Edgar lightly asks, Cleo nods, then knocks on the door. She lightly opens it, then peeks inside. She pulls her head out of the room, and opens the door a little wider. She walks into the room, then I follow behind her, and alpha Edgar comes in behind me and closes the door.
