The next day, they were having breakfast in YoonMin's room.
Nobody noticed Taehyung and Jungkook were avoiding each other. Nobody except Jimin. He already knew something was wrong when Taehyung had entered their room in the morning, dejected and tired. He even had dark circles under his eyes.
They were planning where to go after breakfast, when Jimin stood up. "Hey, Tae. I can't find my favourite shirt, the one you bought me. I think I put it in your bag by mistake. Want to give me a hand?" Taehyung looked up from his untouched food. Their eyes met and he nodded.
The duo entered Taehyung's room, and Jimin bolted the door.
"Sit, Tae", he said. Taehyung obeyed, but didn't say anything. Jimin sighed and sat beside him on the bed, resting a hand on Taehyung's knee. "What happened?", he asked.
"What do you mean? Everything's...fine"
"Hey, don't fool me. I'm your bff. We learned how to walk together. I know you, Taetae"
Taehyung was silent. "Tell me what happened...between you and Kook", Jimin said again, softly. The softness made Taehyung's lips wobble, but he was silent again. He spoke after which seemed like eternity.
"I ruined it", he said, quietly.
"How?", Jimin whispered, holding Taehyung's hand. He traced patterns on the back of his hand with his thumb, calming him. "I...I k-kissed him when I knew I shouldn't have", Taehyung breathed. Jimin wasn't surprised. He knew his soulmate was gay.
"I know he likes you. I've noticed it. He must've responded back", Jimin said. Taehyung sucked in a shaky breath. "He...kinda did. I mean, I can't tell if it was my wishful thinking or not. But...he immediately stood up and just walked away. He said he was sorry"
Jimin knew words couldn't comfort Taehyung. He had never gone through this with Yoongi, so maybe he couldn't understand what one-sided love felt like. But he could do all he can for his soulmate.
"Oh, Taetae...", Jimin whispered. He wrapped his arms around Taehyung and hugged him tightly and softly at the same time, rubbing his back. He smiled as Taehyung's arms wrapped around him a moment later. "Am I...going to be alright?", Taehyung said.
Jimin kissed him on the forehead. "You're going to be just fine"

The seven now made their way to the Maui Ocean Centre.
Hoseok knew some friends who had gone there and were simply amazed. So the rest had already agreed before Jimin and Taehyung had come back. Jimin decided he was going to be with Taehyung during the time so that he wouldn't feel sad.
Yoongi has asked him why, but Jimin had made some excuse about promising to see sea animals with Taehyung. He knew Yoongi didn't want Jungkook to become like him, so he proceeded cautiously.
