Rosie's POV:
The last person I would expect to see on my birthday evening was Georgia. And here she was, strolling into the living room as if she lived here. I wasn't annoyed that she was here, in fact I was actually happy about it. It was strange. From the outside, you would think that we both hated eachother. But I knew I wasn't the only one who felt the strong attraction to the other one.
Raising an eyebrow at her when she picked up a can of Fanta, I spoke, "Just a bit late". She rolled her eyes at me, "Your mum's just invited me in, trust me I didn't come here by choice". Smirking, knowing that she was lying about the last bit, I retorted jokingly, "Yeah right. So...have you brought me a gift?". Of course I didn't expect her to bring me a gift, but it was fun to tease her. She glared at me, "Rosie-..". I interrupted her, "Georgia". She shook her head and raised her eyebrows, "Seriously, I didn't plan on being here so I haven't got you anything". I nodded and said playfully, "That's okay, I go back to England on the 29th so you have until then".
We both stood leaning against the kitchen counters, taking occasional drinks out of our cans. I turned my body so I was facing her and asked, "Wait...so why were you at my house anyway? Sounds a bit stalker-ish if you ask me". She turned so she was facing me as well and replied quietly, "It's a good thing I didn't ask then. My grandma lives next door and she was concerned because your lights were off and she thought she heard a noise". I explained, "Yeah, it was a surprise party". She seemed surprised, "I thought when your mum said party she meant like a few friends were round". I laughed, "Nope, there's about 50 people in my living room right now". Her eyes widened, "How does a loner like you know that many people?". Chuckling at her comment, I defended myself, "I am not a loner". She replied quickly, "Yes you are". We went back and forth for a little while until she gave in with my persistance, "Okay you're not a loner. But your mum probably paid those 50 people to be here as your 'friends'". I rolled my eyes and exclaimed, "Please, you're just jealous".
All of a sudden, she closed the gap between us so her body was pressed up against mine. She could tell that it was having an effect on me and smirked while speaking slowly, "Why would I be jealous?". I tried to shrug my shoulders, but failed under her intense gaze. Even though she was taller than me, we were looking straight into eachother's eyes. I wasn't really too sure what was happening, but Georgia stopped whatever it was suddenly. She stepped back and cleared her throat, "How about you introduce me to you friends then?". It took me a minute to compose myself and snap back into reality to respond, "Erm...okay".
Georgia immediately began to effortlessly converse with all of my friends. She already knew most of them from Barcelona, but soon got to know the others. I left her to herself and went to sit with Jordan. She grinned when she saw me and began to speak, "It's a strange mix of people here. Ballon d'Or winners, Euro winners, Spanish, English, Norwegian". I told her, "I'm just glad everyone's getting along. Sometimes mixing two friend groups doesn't go too well". She rested her head on the palm of her hand, "We've all got 2 things in common". I raised en eyebrow at her, encouraging her to continue. She smiled out, "Football and you".
Leah skipped up to us with her phone in her hand, "Yoohoo". I finished, "Big summer blowout". She laughed, "Finally someone gets the Frozen reference. I said it to Jonas yesterday and he thought I was going crazy". I suggested, "How about we watch Frozen later tonight?". Jordan fist pumped the air, "Hell yes!". Leah and I just shared a glance at eachother before bursting out in laughter at Jordan's sudden comment.
Jordan asked her girlfriend, "What brings you over here then?". Leah held up her phone, "It's time for photos". Jordan stated, "And you've decided that you're in charge of organising everyone?". Leah smiled proudly and held out two hands for us to grab and stand up.
