Chapter 17: Unanswered Questions

Talking to Mr Davis was amazing. I didn't know Jayden had such a beautiful family.

"Dad, I mean you never gave me the chance to introduce them to you," Jayden said

"What do you mean. You're the one who drowns yourself in self-pity." His dad replies

Jayden scoffs, "Dad!"

I couldn't help but giggle because this conversation is funny and cute at the same time.

"You have such a beautiful family, Jayden," I say, looking in his eyes

He looked back at me for something that seemed a long time. We just stared into each other's eyes, for I don't know how long.

Until we heard someone clear their throat, it was Jayden's dad.

"I-uh- uhm, thank you." Jayden stutters

Jayden's dad, Mr Andrew, looks at us both with a grin.

There's an akward silence left till a young man, I suppose, being Jayden's elder brother, enters the room.

Consy, do you remember his name?

Are you asking me? I don't know Mikayla

Do you ever know anything?

Mikalya, leave me alone

Am I holding you?

I push away my thoughts and can't help but notice how these two look alike.

"Bro, any updates?" Jayden asks his brother

"Yeah, mom is okay she woke up from her coma. She just needs rest," he answers

His brother then looks at me and squints his eyes.

I immediately grow uncomfortable and shift in my seat.

"You are Mikayla?" He asks

"Y-yes Mikayla," I answer

Why do I get this shy?

"Lucas," he stretches out his hand with a big smile on his face

How could one change moods this fast?

I smile back at him, too, and stretch out my hand.

"You are beautiful, hope you know that." he winks

I look over at Jayden, and I see him balling his fists and his face immediately becoming stern.

Can't help but chuckle at how jealous he seems. I mean, we aren't anything. Why is he being this way?

"Oh, thank you, Lucas," I say with a smile and get back to my seat.

"I want to see mom," Jayden says with a stern look

"Oh baby bro, chill." Lucas chuckles. "Why do you seem like you are fighting someone?" He smirks

Jayden just rolls his eyes and says, "I'm not going to repeat myself again."

"Sure, you can see mom," Lucas says

"What about you, my lady?" Lucas asks me

I see Jayden stop in his tracks as he was already on his way to go to the theater where his mom was.

He slowly turns back to look at me

"She's coming with me," he says with the same frown on his face
