ARNOLD DAVIS
As I stand in front of this door, I do not know how to move. I stand stiffly with a blank mind.
What just happened? Did Jayden get in my young sister's room at night?
Just then, the door flung open. Right in front of me is Mikayla.
She is also in shock. I am in utter disbelief. I care for my sister so dearly that I do not allow anyone to hurt my sister at all.
"Arnold?" She uttered
"Mikayla," I respond
"Eh di-did you -" Before she could finish her words, I pushed her in her room and closed the door.
"Micky, what have you done?" I question, unable to comprehend what my sister just did
"I-I uh, okay fine," she lifts her hands in surrender
She continues to say, "I didn't call Jayden over. He just appeared by my window, and I allowed him in. I know I shouldn't have, but I just trust him."
I look in her eyes, knowing there's actually more to the story.
"Micky?" I call her
"Okay, fine, he just pecked my lips. But that's just it. Nothing more, " she confesses
"Micky, you shouldn't have done that!" I say
I then continued what I had to say "What if mom or dad would have gotten in? What do you think they would've thought? Be wiser than this, Mikayla."
"Yes, I know what I did was risky." she acknowledges
I then look at her with pity eyes, and I pity her, honestly.
I just have a bad feeling about this boy called Jayden. I have a feeling he might give her fake hopes, and she might end up getting hurt. I won't even betray my gut feelings.
"Sit down." I tell her, and she sits on her bed. I do the same as well.
"Mikayla, you are my sister, and I love and care about you. I won't ever forgive myself if any harm would reach you this minute. See, I don't trust that boy, Jayden. I fear he might end up hurting you. Plus, weren't you the one who said you don't date? And you are waiting to be older to start associating with anyone. What happened to that?"
"Arnold, I honestly understand you. But what I don't get is why don't you trust Jayden? He is just a broken person who needs someone to help him through his healing process, that's it! I am just being a good friend, nothing more. Don't worry, brother. I'm still sticking to my goal, which is to not associate with anyone right now only when I'm older."
"I already mentioned why I don't trust -" she interrupted my sentence
"Being fearful of me getting hurt isn't a valid reason, brother!" She states
"Mikayla, I'm just looking out for you." I state while looking in her eyes.
"But if truly you love and care about me, then I think you should understand that I'm just caring for a friend aswell, he is someone that needs consoling and I need to be there for him. I can't just walk out of his life like that!" She argues
"Wow, Mikayla, I can see you have become a big girl. Big enough to oppose my advice," I say
"Do not gaslight me, okay!" She shouts
"Shhh, you are going to wake everyone up." I whisper
"Arnold, get out!" She says I look at her and see tears rolling down her cheeks.
