Trigger warning: mentions of illegal substances and hospital scenes

JAYDEN MARTINEZ

I lay down here on the ground of this basketball court, half conscious.

The rain increased the more ever since Arnold left.

To be honest, I don't blame him at all. I deserve this. I did this to myself, I shouldn't have gone up to mikayla that day at the cafeteria trying to sort of make her my friend.

Although, I had not known things were going to end up this way one day.

The words he said still rings in my head, even through this great ache i feel.

"Listen, you git, the pain I saw in my sister's eyes was ALREADY ENOUGH HURT."

"THAT PAIN WAS CAUSED BY YOU!"

He's right, I caused mikayla so much pain.

I shouldn't have come into her life.

I'm beginning to think my life here on earth is a mistake.

This so-called God, Christians pray to that they believe stays in heaven, made a mistake in creating me.

It's either I lose a person or I create chaos.

Truth be told, I've never been myself ever since I lost Grandpa Liam, Grandma Anne, and Hazel.

*flashback*

"My hazel," I smirked as she entered our house

"Ugh, stop it, jay." I see her cheeks go pink.

"What? I didn't start yet," I said, going over to her

She laughed. Her laugh is what I crave to hear all the time, I thought to myself

I went over to her, placed my hands on her waist, and pulled her in for a hug.

"I love the warmth you bring me," I muttered

"Same," she said as she spoke through my hoodie, and her voice came out muffled.

We let go of each other.

"Are your parents here?" She whispered

"Nah, they are out on a business trip for 3 days,"

She smirked,

Hazel wasn't a christian. Although she did believe there was a God somewhere in the universe, she  didn't think there was a need to have a particular faith.

At that time, I started losing my faith as well. So we got along so well.

"I'm hungry," she stated

"I've got snacks, you want to eat them?"

"Yeah," she answered hesitantly with her nose scrunched up in disgust

"Where's lucas?" She questioned

"In his room, I think,"

Pulling me to the couch, she said, "I was thinking we try something different today?"

I sat on the couch manspread, and she took her place on my lap.
