Chaeyoung POV
To say that I was tense was an understatement. I was a nervous wreck at that moment. It has been years since the four of us got together. Since the day I threw away everything I worked for my entire life, nothing has been the same. For neither of the four of us. But Jennie sent me an invitation that I just couldn't decline. So here I was, in the seat of my car, eyeing my appearance one last time in the mirror before I finally built up the courage to get out there and face the demons of my past.
I got out of my car and walked towards the entrance. Immediately, thousands of flashlights lit up and I tried my very best to smile and wave for the cameras, politely declining any attempts for an interview until I made it through the front door of the gigantic building tonight's event would be held in. It was a special occasion for Jennie, so there was no way I could not come. We were still friends, after all. The room was filled with famous people from all over the world. Singers, actors, artists, designers, whatever you could ask for. And amongst all these people, one certain brunette stood out of the crowd. Our eyes met and in an instant, I felt joy running through my veins. Meeting my friend after such a long time almost felt like a trip to the past.
Jenny immediately dropped the conversation she was having with one of her guests and we ran towards each other. We embraced each other in a tight hug, clearly showing how much we missed the other.
"Rosie, I'm so glad you could make it." She exclaimed excitedly after we broke up the hug after a couple of seconds.
"There is no way I would miss out on such a once in a lifetime event." I replied with the widest grin, the joy of meeting an old friend was just too overwhelming. "You look fantastic!" I complimented the older girl after I eyed her from head to toe. Okay, "girl" wasn't exactly a fitting description anymore, we've been all grown ups. But in my head, we still were the same girls that loved nothing more than travel the world, joke around and make music. Because that's what I wished for all these years. To travel back in time and relive the years before everything went downhill.
"Really?" Jennie asked with a big smile as she spun around, showing of her wine red dress. It exposed her flawless back and tightly hugged her curves in all the right places. As if this dress was made just for her. Although, to be fair, it probably was.
"Absolutely, this dress looks amazing. I assume it's a J original?"
"Of course it is. Why would you become a fashion designer if you don't make the most beautiful dresses for yourself?" She replied and we both laughed.
Yes, you read correctly. Jennie has become a fashion designer. One of the best at that too. It was no secret that she had a superb sense in fashion, even during our days as Blackpink. So after our group disbanded, it was only a matter of time before she would kill it in the fashion industry. And boy, did she kill it. And this special event that was so important that I wouldn't miss out on it for anything in the world
