Chaeyoung POV

"Jisoo, where are you?"

"I'm sorry Chae, I will come home late today..."

"..."

"You still there?"

"I miss you..."

"Babe, I miss you too. Really. But work-"

"... "is just so busy." Yeah yeah, I know that one already..." The sound of a few laughing people in the background distracted me. "Sounds like you're working pretty hard..."

"We're just taking a small break, Chaeyoung. Please, just go to bed. It's late already..."

"Okay..."

"I love you, Chae~"

"I love you too..."

Ending the call, I threw my phone on the bed in frustration and disappointment. It's not like I was really expecting Jisoo to spend time with me anymore. I stopped having expectations a while ago. Because conversations like these have become pretty much the norm. Jisoo would tell me that she would do her best to get home early, and then never do. Also, she hasn't touched me in weeks. Even on the very few occasions we actually got to spent time together, she wasn't up for anything intimate, because she was "too tired". It was so cliché that it was actually laughable. Because that's not where the issues stopped. Even with our busy schedules, we always managed to find time for each other, but there was another thing that made me believe something was really off.

The secrets.

The secret phone calls and messages. The fact that Jisoo suddenly had a password on her phone, despite her never wanting to use one, because it was too annoying for her to type it in every time she wanted to unlock her phone. "In case it gets stolen", was her excuse when I asked her where the sudden change of heart originated from. But she wouldn't let me have the password either. It's not like I was insisting on snooping around in her phone, but the fact that the password came simultaneously with the whispered calls and the long working hours planted a very unpleasant suspicion in my mind. A thought I haven't dared to phrase yet, because it seemed too ridiculous to be true.

She's cheating on you.

"That's bullshit... She would never do that. She's just busy."

Yeah, busy with other girls. What do you think why you two didn't have sex in weeks?

"Because she is tired..."

Yes, tired of you... Because you are so clingy, always wanna spend time with her, never give her room to breath.

"But... She said she wants to spend time with me too..."

Of course she said that, because she is a kind soul that doesn't wanna hurt you. I bet in this very moment, she and her girls are discussing how she can break up with you without hurting you too much...

"SHUT UP!"

No need to get mad at me. I'm just your conscience that's trying to show you how horrible and undeserving of Jisoo's love you are. You have nobody to blame but yourself that your girlfriend is cheating on you.

"I SAID SHUT UP!!"

In that moment, the door to my room swung open and Jennie entered the room, eyeing me with concern.

"Chaeyoung, are you okay? Are you and Jisoo fighting?"

"N.. No, we're not.. I'm fine, sorry for waking you up." I quickly shook, seeing that my friend was in her pajamas and the noise I caused very likely disturbed her.

"It's fine..." The older girl replied in a soft voice before walking over to my bed, sitting down next to me. "Then, why are you yelling for?"

"Just... Just a bad dream.. "

"You're a horrible liar, Chaeyoung."

"I know..."

"It's okay if you don't wanna talk about it." Warm, protective arms were wrapping themselves around my body and pulled me towards the brunette.
