The next morning

Are these birds it hear tweeting outside? No, it can't be be, there are no birds or even bird nests at my apartment complex. But I'm not dreaming, am I? And what is this smell? Although I can't place it, it feels familiar. And why is it so warm under the blanket? I kicked the blanket away, but just as quickly as I got rid of it, I pulled it over myself again. The outside world was too cold. A giggle to my right surprised me and caused me to open my eyes for the first time that day.

"It's too cold, isn't it? Just stay under the blanket, with me~"

As soon as I looked into J's face, all the events of last night came back to me at once. How we met at her place for a few drinks, how we've been talking for hours before we somehow ended up having sex again, followed by some more talking until we eventually fell asleep. It was a good night, to be honest.

"Your bed is really comfortable, J." I mumbled in a sleepy voice as I cuddled myself up tighter into the blanket. Our combined body warmth was more than enough to make it nice and warm, but the blanket was too fluffy to not bury my nose in it.

"I'm glad you feel that way, because that means I will get to welcome you more often here, I assume?" The sentence was accompanied by a playful chuckle, as if she was joking, but I couldn't help but notice a hint of hope in her voice as well.

"Mhm~" I nodded with my eyes closed again. Damn, I really didn't feel like getting up... ever again.

"Good, that's all I wanted to hear." I felt a playful slap on my thigh before J's weight next to me disappeared.

"Where are you going?" I didn't want her to leave just yet, the it was too warm and comfortable in that moment.

"Well, I'm making breakfast of course. Last night has been quite exhausting, so we need to eat a good meal."

And a damn good meal it was. When it came to serving her guests, J didn't do things half heartedly. She asked what my favourite breakfast food was, made everything I asked for and more and constantly made sure that I had everything I need. She even let me use her shower as well and also offered to wash my clothes for me, especially my... underwear. But I politely declined, as this would've been too much to ask for. Besides, I had business to attend as well.

"Do you really have to go already?" The younger one looked at me with puppy eyes and a pouty lip, making it almost impossible for me to leave her just yet. But still...

"I'm afraid I have to." I reassured with a sad smile. My right hand found its way to the younger one's chin before I placed a sweet, loving kiss on her soft lips. "Work calls. But so will I. I will contact you as soon as I can, okay?"

"Promise?"

"Promise." I reassured her, kissing her still pouty lip once more before I turned around and got into my car. As I drove off, a dreamy smile was always present on my lips. Something, I just realised when I stopped at a red light and looked at myself in the mirror.

If I could just text her one more time, maybe I wouldn't have to think about her constantly.

Against my better knowledge, I pulled out my phone while the light was still red and clicked on J's and my chat. Funny enough, it took me a second to realize that the name at the top of my chats wasn't "J" anymore. It now changed to "Ja".

Okay J, I think I understand what you're playing here~

With a knowing smirk on my lips, I began to type.

Chaeyoung

"Do I at least get to know how many letters your name have?"

Ja
