I wake up to the sun beaming down on my skin, the warmth is making me want to go back to bed, It's so bright.Bright?
Sun?
Oh shit I'm late.
I quickly rip off my comforter and throw on the closest pair of shoes I had. Today is my first day at a new school, this is the third school I've been to since I started high school, I honestly don't think it's that bad considering I'm almost a senior. My parents just moved to this house, two streets down from highland park. Not that that's important I just really like the street name, it's always stood out to me. Anyway I quickly rush out of the door, making sure to not forget anything. I say a quick "Hi, bye." to my parents which earned a "Not right now." And a "I'm busy." From them, they're my parents they really do care they just..Don't know how to show it.
"Oh Eden! You're late." A woman at the front desk said.
"Yes I'm so sorry I had...Bike issues?" That came out as more of a question than an answer but I believe she either didn't notice or just decided to ignore it.
"Oh okay I'm sorry to hear that. Here is your schedule. You have math first period, I'm very busy right now so I don't have time to show you where it is. But I can tell you where it is." She smiled softly.
"Uhhh no it's fine I'll.. Figure it out." I smile as I walk into the hall, I don't know where the fuck I'm going but I got this. I look at my schedule while walking, occasionally glancing up, that is until I bump into a girl and I topple over, dropping everything in my hands.
"Oh shit I'm sorry." The girl says. She's got blue hair and is dressed in flashy baggy apparel. Interesting. "Uh-" I shudder out. "Here let me help you." She said as she chuckled a little, proving that she thought this was funny. "Oh uh thanks." I said as she helped me up and helped me pick up all of my papers. "Hm Eden? I fucking love that name bro." She laughed as she stared at my paper. "Thanks?..." I said, the silence clearly signaling that I was waiting for her name is response.
"Oh uh Billie." She smiled. "Billie?" I questioned, my face scrunching up in what must have looked like disgust to her. "Well fuck you too then." She laughed. "Oh no I didn't-" I start to backtrack. "Nah it's fine. You're looking for math right?" She changed the subject, her face showing that she was clearly annoyed even if that wasn't her intention. "Yeah." I sighed. "It's this way." She said as she led me through the almost empty halls. "Have fun Buttercup." She smiled. "Yeah...No." I said, disgust lacing my voice as I entered the class room.
"Ah yes! And you must be Eden!" The teacher smiled. He's pretty happy looking for someone who seems to be balding at the ripe age of thirty. "That's me." I sighed. "Alright have a seat, even though your late you really didn't miss much." He smiled. After taking a quick glance around the room there were only two open seats. One by the window, but also by the jocks. Or one by the door, but also by what seems to be the cliquey popular girls. I choose window. After taking a seat the teacher continues his lesson.

After what seems like an eternity in hell the bell rings, I get up and gather all of my things and walk out to the hall, I see that I have home ec next. Fun. I read the paper that has my schedule and it also has my locker number and combination. I walk to my locker and put away all of my extra things and just as I was finishing I had two minutes to get to my class before the bell rang.

"Hello Eden!" The teacher smiled. Once again everyone else was already here, Staring at me. You can have a seat next to... She dragged out as she looked around. "Miss O'Connell!" She smiled. Great, the girl that probably hates me, cause that's exactly who I wanted to sit next to. I'm so glad it's almost summer. I walk over and sit in the back, next to Billie. "So I know that it's almost summer but I have an assignment for you guys!" Everyone sighs. "Oh don't act so sad! So this assignment is finance! Which means you will be partnered with someone in this class and will be given a packet. In this packet you will have to write in: your job, how much you make a year, alone and with your income combined. You will have to finance a house, car, children. Ect. This packet could be finished very quickly if it wasn't for the scrapbook! Money will mean nothing if it ends in divorce! So in this scrapbook you will have to document your marriage in pictures or even just writing! This is a great way to grow closer to people!" She smiled. "So over the summer you will be partnered with someone and you must finish the packet before the start of the new year."
