Cedric: Hi Queen

Me: Hi Cedric

Cedric: I miss you

Me: Really? That's cute

Cedric: Why do I feel like you are avoiding me?

Me: No it's not like that. I am a busy woman

Cedric: Oh Ok. When can I see you?

I left Cedric on reading.

My phone rang

It was Star boy

I waited for him and Nyla all evening. I wanted to surprise him with a lap dance.

"Hey!" I greeted.

"Hey, send for Nyla. I'm a minute away" he answered back. His tone sounded dull and I could feel his depression through the phone.

"No I want you to come inside" I pleaded.

"Why Ashleigh? It's late and I have the other kids" he maintained.

"Please? Take them back to their home and come sleep with me" I beseeched.

"No sah maybe another time"

He hanged up.

I sunk my fist into the pillow and growled.

I have never seen him this upset with me and it broke my heart.

I asked Tiana to go get Nyla then peeked through the window at them. Nyla clutched to her father's neck as if he was her favorite teddy bear. I could tell she adored him very much. When Tiana tried to take her she held her father tighter and began go cry. My heart sank but the moment made me realize what I truly wanted and I knew I had to do whatever it took to restore my relationship. Nyla needed more time with her father and I needed him too so I did what was needed to be done.

Me: I'm sorry Cedric but I can't do this anymore

I acknowledged that I had to stop being daddy's little girl. I had to start living for me and Nyla and not let the opinions of the people in my life lead me anymore. This was my reality. I had fallen in love with a ghetto top man who loved me and his daughter as much as we loved him. We aren't perfect, we weren't meant to be perfect.

Cedric: What??

Cedric: Are you serious?

I exited Cedric's chat and opened Star boy's chat head.

Me: Baby I'll come to you if that's what it takes but we gotta talk

I waited half hour to see if he would respond. He didn't. He opened the message and didn't respond. I didn't know what to do. He was never this upset with me before.

Me: Ok guess I'm not as important to you as I thought. Just know that I am very sorry.

Tiana walked into the living room.

"Nyla is asleep," She said.

I didn't look up at her. I didn't want her to see the tears in my eyes.

"You good cous?" She asked and plopped down beside me.

I didn't answer. I kept looking down at my phone hoping that Star boy would at least send me a message.

Tiana placed a hand around my shoulders. "He loves you, Ash!" She tried to assure me.

"Just that you have to show him that you love him the same"
