Chapter 24

"You look happier," Tiana said as she sat on the stool.

I was in the kitchen whipping eggs and squeezing orange juice for my love bird.

I look at Tiana and smile, " Yes I am happy"

"I feel very relaxed and at peace"

"Good to hear ma baby"

"I heard you laughing all night" she responded.

"I was like thank you, Jesus!"

I smiled and let out a large breath.

"He wants to get married?"

I glare at Tiana to capture her reaction. Her face lit up. Her smile got wider and she rocked and clasped her hands together.

"Yes, baby!" She crooned.

"Say yes Ash!"

"You deserve it"

I switched off the stove and turned to dish the eggs. Tiana's eyes were glued at me.

"I want to marry him but I don't want to move to that house he shared with his wife and kids."

I looked up at Tiana and placed one hand on my hip.

"I won't compromise on that part T"

"I want a fresh house"

Tiana searched my eyes."Yea but can't he afford it?"

"Don't pressure the man" she implored.

"Don't add a value to your love mum"

"Girl the house was given to him by his ex-wife's grandfather"

I sucked my teeth "Fuck me a do deh so"

"Sorry but no!"

I heard footsteps

"Later we chat" I beamed at Tiana and walked off.

I met Star boy at the living room doorway.

"Look like me shudda stay in bed"

"Breakfast in bed settings" he joked.

"A today a my day"

"Wow!"

I chuckled.

"Please don't say wow"

"It makes you sound gay"

Star boy sucked his teeth and took the tray from me.

My phone beeped and I hastily took it from my side pocket.

Cedric:Good morning

Cedric: Can we meet for dinner?

Cedric: I need your input on a business plan

Cedric: Please! I can pay for consultation if you like

I smile and sucked in my bottom lip.

I was wondering when Cedric would make an attempt to see me again.

"Go back in the room" I instructed Star boy.

"Me a come"

"Dildo boss wants another touch?" Star boy asked with a tinge of jealousy in his voice.

I looked up at him and rolled my eyes.

"He wants a business consultant"

"I need the cash"

"$3000 per hour" I explained

"My business is still extended to him and I don't mix that shit with pleasure"

"Alright boss lady" Star boy shouted in unison.

"Just hope you mean that"

"I man a get older"

"No use stringing me along if you nuh want the I"

I fanned him away dismissively.

Me: Good morning

Me: 7:30 at Nola's

Me: I'll be driving my car

Cedric: Noted

Cedric: Thank you

7:00 PM

I drove slowly to Luana. I wasn't used to the road as yet and driving at night made me a bit scared but I had no choice. Star boy has been staying at my house since the other day and I didn't want him to see Cedric picking me up.

I got to the location at 7:15 PM.

I called Cedric to notify him.

To my surprise, he was already there.

He was at a table to the left attired in a baby blue casual short pants suit and a white Reebok snickers.

I walked over to him and was greeted by his Versace cologne before he stood and extended his arm to shake my hand.

"Pretty lady" He greeted.

"You look lovely"

I was going to miss this.

Cedric is so charismatic and spontaneous.

"Hi Cedric"

"How are you?" I asked as I sat down at the table.

"I'm alright"

He licked his lips.

"I can see that you are fine too"

I half-smiled.

"Yes I'm great"

Cedric ordered some drinks. I decline the request to get some food since I had eaten a hefty dinner earlier.

I sip the mixture of peanut calado and coconut rum while I look over the documents that Cedric handed me. It was a very detailed business plan for a construction company he had hopes of starting soon. I liked the idea except for a few minor details. The business plan explains how he will buy and sell large quantities of construction equipment to contractors and small business owners. What I didn't like was how it wanted to just sell the items. I believe he could add a section where the larger items could be rented instead of sold. That way he could get a larger return on them.

I nodded and glanced at Cedric.

"This is nice"

"Well put together except for a few minor loopholes"

My eyes were getting blurry so I reached inside my handbag to retrieve my reading glasses. I placed them on my face and Cedric snickered.

"What?" I asked.

"Just a say you look really studious in those" he confessed and winked at me.

"Thank you"

"Can I go over these at home tomorrow?" I queried.

"There are a few things I want to add to it"

"Sure!" Cedric answered excitedly.

"You can send me the charge too"

"I looked up at him" I knew he wanted me to decline that offer but me and money have a loving relationship that I can't afford to mess up. I love my money.

"Yea I will"
