"Hello sir, would you like anything else?"
One of the many waitresses came over to Paddy, just barely finishing his meal.
"nu nu, i dint node anythung els"
"Please finish your food first, sir."
"no no, i dont need anything else, thank you again."
As she left, he became all gloomy again. He had come down to get some food, spending only 500 on it, trying to preserve what little savings he had. No one wanted to join his party, which meant he was stuck doing more quests by himself. From what way it looked like outside the window, it could only be about 2... no no, 3? Maybe even 4. God damnit, he needed a watch. Did they even have watches here?
He cleaned the bread crumbs off his mouth, and sorted out his plates before heading off to the counter once again.
"hello miss."
The blonde lady looked up from the sheet she was reading. He waited in a short queue, even though there was no queue for the lady beside him.
"Oh, hello. Did you enjoy your sleep? I hope you enjoyed our beds. No one came asking about your party yet, but don't give up hope!"
Paddy just rolled his eyes.
"just please give me another quest..."
She could tell he was upset about the lack of enthusiasm regarding the joining of his party.
"Oh, yes, yes, I found a quest earlier that I kept just for you. Here you go!"
He scanned through the paper he was just handed. A gathering quest? Doesn't seem too bad.
"This shouldn't be too much of a hassle for you, instead of battling, you can take it nice and easy. Gathering several food ingredients shouldn't be too hard for you, right?"
He had to go pick up plants or something? This was way easier than the one from yesterday.
"sure, ill take it."
...
"wait, where do i find these thingys?""I'll get a map ready for you shortly, if you want to gather your belongings while you're waiting, feel free to do so."
"ok, thanks."
Inside his room, was some of his money, and the lamp. He picked up the coins in case he wanted to buy anything, and the lamp, in case he needed to bludgeon someone, seeing as he lost his trusty dagger.
"And here you go! I'd recommend buying a basket, or some sort of container on your way out of the town. They should be cheap at the markets, just down the road. Follow the map once you leave."
"alright, thanks miss, talk to ya."
He walked out the entrance doors outside, and gazed upon the sky. Paddy, living in Ireland his whole life, didn't leave the country much, and therefore didn't see loads of sun. It was nice to see how beautiful of a day it could be when it was around.
"And that'll be 1,500 please, sir."
Paddy listened to her advice and bought himself a backpack. His lamp poked out at the top of it, but atleast his hands were free now. Now time to go... wait, is that a watch?
"sir, how much for the watch?"
"Oh, the... wat.. ch.? Oh... you mean the sun dial? It keeps track of the time using the-"
"i know how a watch works, how much are you asking for?"
"The small price of about.. 1,000"
"did you just make that price now fella?"
"...no..."
"..."
And so, Paddy set off. With his new watch he had acquired for 500, left him with a total of... 2,500 left. Not bad. Now from what he was told, the walk would only be about 30 minutes from the entrance of the town, and it was now just turning 5:00 so he should probably be back before 6:30. A 90 minute job, things are getting handier by the day, well, it's only been 1 day...
