[ Story - Myself, A...
"Oh, you're up monsieur. Not a bit of trouble, just some specimens causing an uproar. It will be dealt with shortly.
The sound of goblin shrieks outside made Paddy get up and check it out.
"HAR HAR HAR!!!"
"YOU PITIFUL HUMAN!!!"
Meeting their remarks was a man, quite big in size. His face could not be seen, as he wore a faded metal helmet, if he wasn't intimidating enough.
"THIS WON'T BE THE LAST OF US!!!"
The goblins sped off full speed on wolves they had trained surprisingly.
"Aye, that should be the last of them."
"jaysus fella, how do you hold that yolk?"
Almost like a big slab of metal he carried around with him, a great big metal greatsword rested on his shoulder.
"A bit of training in the arms, aye?"
"right so..."
"Oh, thank you thank you, once again."
The merchant came out from the back, once all the danger was taken care of, of course.
"A splendid job once again, monsieur!"
"who the hell is this fella?"
"Well it would be due to your slothfulness. I picked him up while you were asleep, no?"
"ya did?"
"Oui oui, monsieur. A merchant in this day and age can't possibly go without a mercenary, right? Say hello, to 'Bjorn'.
"That's me, aye. Good meeting you."
He outstretched his hand towards Paddy. Upon giving him the handshake he was looking for, Paddy could not feel his hand afterwards. He was definitely over-powered by this big beast of a man.
"Oui, no time for idle chit-chat, right?Time is money, no?"
The 3 of them hopped back on to the wagon and set off.
Upon climbing over one of the many small hills, in the distance could only be what looked like what another town. The surrounding forestry was plentiful, and the sun was shining bright in the sky.
"So we are here. Now sir, while we complete our travels to the town based beside the mountain, we need money, resources, food, oui?"
"ok..."
"So just go round the town and gather your supplies while we deliver our goods to our delightful customers."
Paddy remembered one thing. He was basically flat out broke.
"I've only got about 1,500 left..."
The merchant and mercenary duo looked at them, and back at him.
"Right... Monsieur, this is only a gift, consider it a token of kindness, but only because you are older than both of us, oui, oui? Hohohohoho."
Paddy received the gracious gift of 50,000 from him.
"holy fuck, are ya sure fella? this is loads like."
"It is but a droplet of my ocean of wealth, consider it none but loose change."
"alright so, thanks."
Paddy, left alone with himself, wandered the stalls for items that could entertain him, or be of use later on for him.
"Carrots! Carrots! Fresh Carrots!" "Gather around! And purchase the great jewellery from the ancients!" "Do I have any buyers? Discounted for today only!"
A whole load of rubbish was spouted, it was quite the busy day. Nothing tops the farmer market back home though.
More walking, and he got to the actual buildings, the fully fletched out stores he could walk into and purchase goods from.
His eye was caught by a sign hanging off one though, it had a nice carving of a chestplate on it. Walking in, he was greeted with all sorts of armour.
"Welcome! What brings you here today?"
"not sure, just lookin."
"Well, if its looking you want, we have plenty of things to look at. Would you like armour that grants you monsterous strength, or masterful magical abilities?
"how much?"
"Let me see, about 200,000? For our high quality products, it is nothing short of this."
He was still broke. Why was everything so expensive.
"uh fella im on a bit of a tight budget."
"Well, I have quite the offers for you." These plated steelcaps are quite the steal, at only 10,000. Unless, you are looking for something way cheaper, in that case-"
"ill take the leg yolks, thanks fella."
"And sold! Pleasure doing business with you."
Paddy equipped his new armour. He could not afford the likes of a chestplate, so this would have to do for now. It didn't look that protective, but he would have to just test it out later.
Walking past more buildings, all with different signs, he didn't know which one to choose-
"YOU!"
He looked around, but he saw no one.
"SIR! COME IN! I CAN SEE YOU!"
The voice was coming out from a doorway, just barely in the alleyway.
"COME AND FACE YOUR DESTINY, SIR!"
Paddy yawned, and walked inside.
"so, what yolk are you on about, ya max man."
The inside of the store was dark, only a few dimly lit candles provided just enough light. The figure turned around to face his new (and rare) customer.
"Congratulations, Patrick. You have chosen wisely to enter my store, only few choose to follow their fate."
"wha...? how do ya know me name fella."
"Yes, yes, I can feel a bit of fortune from you!"
"sir, what is the deal with ya."
The figure pushed his hat off his face, which was previously covering it.
"Oho, who am I? Do not worry Patrick, for I am none other than..."
Thunder zapped throughout the room.
"... THE GRAND WIZARD!!!"
