Kaveh pov

I was buying some materials for work and stumbled across Cyno and Tighnari having a date. I wasn't planning on disturbing their date but Tighnari noticed me and called me over, I walked over to them and realized they were playing TCG but it seemed like there was another person playing with them. "Who's the third person playing with you guys?" I asked, Cyno said "Alhaitham, he went to do something important and me and Nari are waiting for his return.", I nodded and sat in the fourth empty seat.

"So how long have you guys been playing today?" I asked, "oh not long-" before Cyno could finish, Tighnari cut him off, "we've been playing for 6 hours. Kaveh please I beg of you, save me..", I chuckled "is that why you called me over?" He nodded. I ordered a drink and chatted with the two of them while waiting they waited for Haitham.

After a few minutes, I saw a familiar gray-haired person and called out to them happily. "Haitham! Nice to run into you on this nice occasion" he looked at me indifferently and sat down.

We talked and played for a bit until I noticed the time, "ah! I should get going- I'll talk to you another time!" I quickly grabbed my things and ran back to the house.

Third pov

Alhaitham saw Kaveh leave the cafe and looked at the floor, he noticed some keys with a cute keychain on them and picked it up. Tighnari asked curiously, "hey, how will Kaveh get in the house if the keys are here?" Alhaitham smirked slightly and said "he won't."

Sora pov

I combed my fingers through The balladeers long hair, he layed on the floor tiredly on my lap. As I finger-combed his hair I looked at him and asked, "so, how many times was it?" I was talking about how many injections The doctor had mercilessly injected into him. He gripped my pants and whispered "F-five..", I nod and continued my attempt to soothe him. The door opened and the sound of footsteps filled the room, I carefully put The balladeers head on the ground and stood up, I turned to the person and bowed in respect, "Goodevening, Pantalone.." He nodded and walked over to The balladeer. He picked him up and gently pressed The balladeer head on his shoulder, "It's alright Scara, that damned doctor is only doing this for your own good.." He said.

I stood there standing straight with my arms neatly crossed behind me
as I stared at them, The regrator turned to me and said "Sora, I will give you an order you absolutely must follow so listen carefully.", I look at him and nod, "you must protect The balladeer from anyone who isn't a harbinger, that includes all fatui ranking lower than us harbingers, if they hurt him then protect him and kill them. Fail and you will be disposed of." I nod and look at The balladeer, "I'll do my best.."

-a few hours later-

I wandered liyues streets with The balladeer, it turns out that The regrator wanted him to go out and have fun for a bit. We both wore the same white mask with some white mesh for us to see, his mask would start falling off from time to time so i ended up having to take some string attatched to both sides of his mask and tying a knot on the back of his head.

I was given a handful pouch of mora by The regrator in order to pay for The balladeers needs. As we walked through the streets I noticed that there was a large festival happening, the streets were filled with light and many festive activities were happening, after a while I soon realized that the people of liyue were currently celebrating the lantern rite festival. As The balladeer ran around and observed many things, I had been chasing him around while trying to make sure he hadn't caused much trouble.

Not long after, we sat on a rooftop and relaxed in the night breeze. The balladeer held an average bag of candies and treats in his bag that I had bought, he ate them happily as I stared at the sky. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned to The balladeer, he held a sealed bag of cotton candy close to me and asked "Sora,want?", I smiled and accept the cotton candy. As we both ate the sweets I notice a lantern float up into the sky, then another, and another, and soon enough the sky was beginning to be filled with lanterns. I look to The balladeer, wanting to say something but I stopped myself when I saw his expression.

His expression looked like one of a child who had just seen the most amazing thing in their life, even his mouth was open in amazement. I chuckled and looked at the lantern-filled sky again, enjoying the moment while it lasted..

Kaveh pov (in sumeru)

I sat on the doormat for the house entrance and sighed, it was raining and I accidentally dropped my keys somewhere that I coudnt remember. Suddenly I heard footsteps and looked to see Alhaitham looking at me with his indifferent expression, he was spinning the keys in his hand and I glared at him once he was finally infront of me, "Haitham! Do you know how long I've been out here?! You could've atleast told me you had the keys!! Now the things I bought are soaking wet and what's worse is most of that is my paper restock!!", he unlocked the door and said "okay, get in already."

I enter the house and immediately go to find something to dry myself with.

Lumine pov

I frantically looked through the books and tried to find something of Barbatos' location but there was nothing. It was as if he disappeared from the entire world.

I sat on the floor tiredly, I look up and stare at the endless spiral of books in the library. As I stared at it I noticed something strange, an unusually large book was camouflaged in one of the childrens sections and it was barely visible because of it's placement unless you observed it 10 times. I quickly summon the book and it went in my hand, I looked at the name, 'Xi Mei', it read.

"Huh?..it must be a child around 8-9 atleast if the book is this large..", I open the book and read the person description. My eyes widened in shock and I shut the book, being unable to process what I had read. I slowly opened the book again to see if I read right and I definitely did, 'Parents/Guardians: Aether and Xiao' "huh..? HUH???" I instantly start reading the infants memories and was shocked to no end.

"The records of Aethers time in teyvat..is in her memories? But why..?" As i kept reading carefully I notice that Aether was referred to as 'Mama' and ignored that part completely. What was more important was that this child knew the existence of Teyvat and was safe-keeping it in her memories, being able to do that at an unusually young age is truly fascinating..

I managed to reach very far in the book, I coudn't believe what I was reading. Within her memories there was a certain paragraph that disturbed me, "this child..knows her fate..?"

She would be killed by someone who wasnt the one she knew, she would be killed by.. "Why..why is it blurred..? W-why is it blurred?!" The name of her killer was blurred out and I became distressed. A child who knew so much would be killed and sadly in just a few weeks, I wasn't going to sit by and let that happen.

"Get me someone here, NOW!!" An abyss mage appeared and bowed, "yes,you're maje-" "find the child of my brother and his husband this INSTANT!" I demanded and the abyss mage quickly went to find her. I walk out of the library and my heels clacking echoed through the halls. I walk into a large room and walked up some steps before turning around and sitting on my throne.

"I promise, I will protect that girl with my life."
