GSA: Grand Sword Adventure

Reality Payback and New Friends

There is a knock on my door making me open my eyes slowly so I blink a few times before I notice that it was morning already. I raise my right hand to check the time before I said sleepy, "Yes."
​​"Time to get up." Said my mother's tired voice from the door and I said, "Ok, I'll be right down." I then heard floors creaking before I sat up to walk to the bathroom. Once I got out of the showers, I put on a fresh set of school uniform before heading down the stairs. I got into the kitchen to find my father already gone so I made my way to the stove to cook a light breakfast for me.
​"Mom, I made enough for you too." I said after I finish washing my dirty plates.
​​"Make sure you eat." I said once again only to have my mom wave a hand lazily from the couch where she spent most of her time. I shook my head once before sighing and made my way out the front door. Stepping out of the door, I look up into the dark cloudy skies before muttering, "It's going to rain again I guess."
​​"Did you read G-Grave's paper? It said that Kira cleared Midnight Stalker's event alone." Said a male student and I glance towards his way as his friend said, "I wish he would join our guild someday." Making me shook my head muttering, "Sorry but I'm a solo player.
​​"Yo, Amiya." Said the first male student and I turn to look at him.
​​"Morning, Takamura." I said as Keito smiles at me saying, "You play GSA right?"
​​"I don't think Amiya plays GSA." Said Keito's friend and I turn to face him saying, "How would you know Yoshido?" Yuta smile saying, "If you do play then why not party up with Takamura and me today? We're about to go onto the fiftieth floor for a little farming."
​"Pass." I said before making my way towards my classroom making Yuta frown. When I reach my classroom, I open the door making everyone in the classroom got quiet immediately. I narrow my eyes as I made my way towards my seat in the back of the room. As I sat down, I heard someone whisper, "His parents were arguing again last night." I close my eyes to take in a deep breath before opening my eyes again to stare out the window.
​​"Another long and boring day." I said loudly when the final bell for school rang and I made my way towards the entrance.
​"Well, what do we have here, it's Amiya Zeke." Said a male's voice from behind me and I mutter, "Shit." Before turning around to look the group of boys standing behind me
​​"What do you want Kazuya?" I said making Shin laugh loudly as he said, "I believe its time for your daily treatment." I glared at him as his friends were sneering towards me.
​​"Grab him." Order Shin making his two friends grab my arms and Shin cracked his knuckles.
​​"This will be fun." Said Shin before he swung his right fist at me and I let out a groan of pain.
​​"Just hurry up already." I said making Shin narrow his eyes at me so he made a couple of swings towards my stomach making me cough loudly.
​"What are you doing?" Said a girl's voice making Shin and his groupie turn to look.
​​"What do you want Yashida?" ask Shin talking to Jun my childhood friend.
​​"Why do you let them do this to you?" ask Jun talking to me and totally ignoring Shin and his friends.
​​"I'm used to it." I said trying to sound confident but Jun just let out an exaggerated sigh before saying, "Aren't you tired of getting beat up?"
​​"Get lost, Yashida, or you're next." Said Shin getting angry but Jun still ignored him by continuing to talk to me, "Just fight back." I shift my gaze to the ground without saying anything as Shin looked at Jun and then to me before saying in a bored voice, "This is boring now. Let's go." Shin's friend suddenly let go of my arms and I fell onto my butt as Jun came to squat in front of me.
​​"You could have taken them out easily." Said Jun using a handkerchief to wipe my cheek before I lean back saying, "What's the point? There will just be more of them next time."
​"That's not what Kira would do." Said Jun talking about my avatar from the game while shaking her head.
​​"In case you haven't notice Jun, we're not in GSA. This is reality." I said making Jun smile.
​"I still remember what you told me last summer. How you lock yourself up in your room for two years straight inside GSA just to test a theory." Said Jun talking about the time when I had skip two whole years of school to test out a theory that I like to call "The Bleeding Effect." For those two years, I spent most of my time inside the world of Megil or Sword World, only logging out to eat. The Bleeding Effect came to me while I was playing GSA. There were times when I felt as if I actually live and breath there and it felt as if my avatar and I had become one.
​It was risky but I manage to complete my Bleeding Effect theory. By the third month, I began to notice small changes towards my real body. The process was slow but with my time spent inside Megil, my body had managed to memorize the in game's sword combo system. By the fourth month, I began to exercise my real body to stay fit. After the first year, my body had memorize all the in game sword system's combo and then I spent another year in the real world to finalize the sword skills with wooden sticks.
​At the end of that year, I remember bursting into Jun's house demanding to have a match. Jun's family owns a kendo dojo and like a true warrior, she had accepted my challenge.
​​"It's not as heavy as I want it." I remember saying as I made a few upwards and downward slash with the bamboo sword making Jun look at me as if I was crazy before she place both hands on the hilt of her own sword. I twisted my wrist to make the sword swing in a circular motion before bending my knees and raising both my hands up as if I was holding two swords making Jun laugh.
​​"What kind of stance is that?" she had asks me and I just said, "Don't worry about it and come at me with full strength." This made Jun narrow her eyes as she said, "If you say so then. I won't be holding back." She then made a step forward before swinging her sword towards my head but I was able to block the attack by raising my own sword.
​​"I thought you didn't take kendo?" Jun had asked me surprised and I just smirked saying, "If you can land a hit on me, I'll tell you my secret." This made Jun smiled before she made a couple of steps towards me swinging her sword down towards my head. I managed to dodge and parry every attack but Jun also managed to do the same making me mutter, "I should have practice with one sword too."
​​"What was that?" Asked Jun making me look at her saying, "Nothing. Here I come." I made a dash forward swinging my sword towards her stomach but she was able to dodge the attack by making a jump back.
​"You were serious just now wasn't you?" Said Jun making me smile and she narrows her eyes in anger. She then swung her sword faster and harder making me furrow my eyebrows in concentration until I was able to lock her sword with mine and I smile.
​​"I win." I remember thinking this as I raised my left hand as if going to cut her with another sword until I realized that I only had one sword. This was my mistake as Jun was able to raise her sword once more to make a hit on my head. After that, I had to explained to her my theory and she gave me a lecture about priorities.
​​"Did you really master those combos from the game?" ask Jun making me snap back into reality and I looked at her.
​"I mastered the ones that didn't go against the laws of physics." I said with a smile making Jun shook her head and in a worried voice said, "I still think you're crazy." I didn't say anything and instead just stood up with my right hand in front her face. She smile before taking my outstretch hand with her own and I pull her up.
​​"How's your mom?" Ask Jun as we made our way to my house and I said in a stoic voice, "She's fine." Making Jun made a look of worry and I sigh.
​​"Don't look at me like that." I said making Jun said, "I can't help it."
​​"I'm ok. Everything's ok." I said reassuring her as we made a stop in front of my house. Jun look up at the house saying, "I'll see you tomorrow then?" I averted my gaze saying, "Sure." Before I open the gates to my house and entering the house to see my mom lying on the couch with a bottle of liquor on the table with an empty glass cup on the floor and I shook my head before sighing.
​"I guess he won't be home until late again. Damn you old man." I said as I made my way towards the couch to pick up the cup.
​"Mom." I said softly but my mom didn't respond so I grab her arms to put them around my neck to piggyback her to her room. I open my parents room before I went to lay her down on the bed making her say, "Is that you, Kenjiro? I miss you." I turn to see her sleeping soundly before placing the blanket over her and closing the door behind me. I then made my way towards my room and like usual, I lock the door before going to my bed to get out the Neuro or the headgear from under my bed. I place the Neuro onto my head before lying down on my bed and closed my eyes saying, "Connect."
​I open my eyes to stare into the brown rooftop of the inn that I spent the night before I stood up to walk out of the door. I made my way down the stairs and towards the front door before making my way to the water fountain. I swipe my hand down, navigated to the friends lists to pull up G-Grave's name. I click on location making a small map appears in my face showing a small red dot in the outskirts of the town Midgard.
​​I made my way to the teleportation altar before stepping into the middle saying, "Teleport: Midgard." A blue light engulfs me as I was teleport into the town of Midgard. I made my way towards the outskirts of the town to find G-Grave sitting in his usual spot behind a small stand.
​"Yo." I said waving a hand towards him making him smile as he said, "Ah and here comes the man who brings me my wealth and fortune."
​​"I'm glad that you're making gold in my name but I'm here on business." I said making G-Grave nod his head as he swipe a hand down but stop as I said, "You can keep the gold. I just want info on where to fine three players." This made G-Grave look at me in surprise as he said, "Oh and who are these three players you are looking for?"
​"Their names are Kradle, Dragoon, and Lancer." I said making G-Grave's eyes open in surprise.
​​"And what does the strongest player want with a Pking guild." Said G-Grave making me narrowed my eyes.
​​"It's not for you to know." I said making G-Grave shrug his hands as he said, "Fine, fine. I won't ask since you're already paying to get the info. Hmm if I'm correct, they're in a guild called Dark Legion. Their HQ is located in Gram."
​​"Gram huh." I said with a hand on my chin before taking out a blue crystal.
​"Thanks." I said making G-Grave said, "If you're going to go into the Legion's home base, I hope you're prepare for the worse." I smirk before saying, "Teleport: Gram." The blue light engulfs me once more before I was teleported to the center of Gram. A town belonging to most Pking guilds so I as made my way towards the Legion's home base, I was getting glares from every player.
​​I turn into an ally to see a bunch of players from the Legion talking to each other and when they notice me, they turn to look at me and started whispering, "What is he doing here?" I ignore each of them as I made my way towards the dark castle in the distance. I open the brass doors before scanning around the place but not seeing whom I wanted to see, I made my way to the bar.
​​"That's Kira isn't it?"
​​"I wonder what he is doing here." Whispers like this were spreading around like wild fire and when I reach the bar, I sat down on a chair saying, "Water." The NPC bartender nodded his head before placing a glass of water in front of me.
​​"You're Kira, aren't you?" Ask a big bald player making me turn to look at him.
​​"And you are?" I ask him making him smile as he cracks his knuckles saying, "I'm known as Big Bear."
​​"What are you doing here?" Asks Big Bear making me turn back to my water saying, "I'm looking for someone from this guild." This made Big Bear smile as he smirk at me
​​"If it's someone from this guild then I'm sorry but you won't be getting any info from us." Said Big Bear loudly making every player in the castle look at me. I raise my glass to my lip as I used the player skill finder to check every player in the castle and smile.
​"What's so funny?" Asks Big Bear now holding his broad ax and I said, "I'm sorry but there's not a single player in this castle who can beat me." Big bear raise his ax over his head to swing it towards the seat where I was sitting. I splash the rest of my water into his face before I made a jump into the air while unsheathing my swords. I landed on the ground only to dodge roll into the left as Big Bear's axe flew towards me. I smile as another player ran from behind me to swing his swords towards me. I made a jump into the air as I made a downward slash towards the player.
​"Ahh." The player screams as he felt the cut on his left shoulder only to fall onto the ground with one knee.
​​"That hurted damn it." Said the player surprise as I begin rushing toward players in the castle making a slash as I pass each of them and they fell onto their butts.
​​"Don't worry; I won't be able to kill you since we're in a safe zone." I said as I sheathed my swords before making my way towards Big Bear.
​​"Now, I want some answers. Where can I fine Kradle, Dragoon and Lancer?" I ask Big Bear and he said, "Last I heard, they were going to the Town of Beginnings."
​​"Town of Beginnings." I said making Big Bear said, "Yes." I patted his baldhead before saying, "Now that wasn't so hard at all was it." Big Bear narrows his eyes at me as I took out a blue crystal before saying, "Teleport: Town of Beginnings." I teleported to find a brown haired girl wearing a beginners outfit with a rapier attach to her side running towards me follow by three players waving their weapons and laughing.
​"Kradle, Dragoon and Lancer." I said loudly making the three of them stop running to come to a stop in front of me as the girl ran behind me.
​​"Kira." Said Kradle surprise as he saw me before he signal a hand to make his party sheathe their weapons.
​​"What are you doing here?" said Kradle surprise and I said, "I was looking for you three actually."
​​"For us? Why?" ask Dragoon making me turn to look at him.
​"I have a score to settle with you three." I said making the three of them look at each other before they look at me as realization dawn on their faces.
​​"A...Amiya?" said Kradle looking at me surprise and I nodded my head saying, "I didn't know you were this smart Kazuya-san." This made the girl look at me before looking at Kradle whose eyes open wide as he said, "How did you know?"
​​"I heard the three of you talking about your avatar's the moment you guys made them." I said making them gulp in fear.
​"Let's finish what you guys started earlier shall we?" I ask as I swipe my hand down and sending a three on one pvp challenge.
​"You really think you can take the three of us?" ask Kradle/Shin making me smile.
​​"I'm sure with the three of you combined; you can give me a good battle." I said smirking making Kradle said, "Then you wouldn't mind if I change the rule settings do you?"
​​"I couldn't care less." I said making Kradle and his party sneer.
​​"This will be a PK duel then." Said Kradle as a screen appears in front of me asking for confirmation of a rule change and I tap on the accept button before unsheathing my swords.
​​"Step back, this doesn't concern you." I said softly to the girl making her nod her head before taking a few step back.
​"Hey Kira's about to take on three players from the Dark Legion in a pk duel." Yelled someone and soon we were surrounded by players
​​"Don't blame me if you die and we get your weapons."
​​"Like that will ever happen." I said with a smirk as the timer hit zero and a loud beep was heard signaling the start of the match. Dragoon immediately jumps into the air making me look at him as Lancer thrust his spear towards me. I smile before raising Flametongue to parry the attack only to have Kradle jump towards me making a rightward slash. I made a jump back to avoid the attack only to make a back flip to dodge Dragoon's attack.
​"Tsk, damn I missed." Said Dragoon as the crowd cheered loudly and I smile saying, "That's some good teamwork but I could see it from a mile away."
​​"What...What is this?" Said Lancer loudly making his party look at him to see that the tip of his lancer had been frozen
​​"That's not all that's frozen." I said making Kradle and Dragoon look at their armor to see some part of their armor frozen.
​​"What is this?" said Kradle striking his gauntlet with the hilt of his sword and I said, "This is Icebrand's effect." While swinging the ice sword once
​​"Don't worry the effect only last for a minute but that's more than enough time for me to win." I said making Kradle glare at me.
​​"Damn you, Amiya, Get him." Said Kradle making Lancer and Dragoon trust their spears at me and I easily parried the attacks. Before long, I was able to freeze each of their weapons and I said, "Let me help you get rid of those ice." I took a step before bursting pass Lancer and Dragoon to have my sword in front of Kradle's face making his eyes open wide in shock.
​"Kradle." Said Lancer making Kradle look at his two party members as they burst into black shards leaving two black fires
​"Twilight Slash." I said quietly making Kradle's eyes open wide as he watch my two swords glow and I made a fifty hit combo. As soon as my last hit landed, Kradle yelled, "I'll get you for this Amiya." Before he burst into black shards leaving a black flame and I made my victory pose before sheathing both of my swords as a small window appears in front of me telling me the items, gold and exp points I had receive.
​​"That was awesome."
​​"Icebrand and Flametongue is really something." Said a player in the crowd as they begin to walk away leaving the girl.
​​"Are you ok?" she asks me when I made my way towards her and I raise a finger to my lips before motioning for her to follow me towards an inn.
​​"I'm fine and here you can have this." I said once we enter the inn, have a table to ourselves and I pointed to the small window in front of me making the girl shook her head.
​"I can't take that, it's yours to keep." Said the girl making me sigh as I said, "I don't need it, I was going to toss them away anyway."
​​"In that case then, I'll take it." Said the girl before I transfer my winnings to her
​"Oh, I'm Eliza." Said Eliza and I just nodded my head saying, "I'm..."
​​"Kira." Said Eliza interrupting me, "Even before I started GSA, your name keeps getting mention by my friends."
​​"I see and I'm not that great. G-Grave tends to over exaggerate a lot." I said making Eliza look at me in surprise.
​​"G-Grave's a player who sells information's to other players and makes my life his job." I said making Eliza smiles making my eyes open wide in shock at how beautiful an avatar can be and I averted my gaze. I suddenly had the urge to party with this girl so I blurted out, "You just begin playing right?"
​​"Yes, I'm supposed to meet my friends from school in a few hours for a hunt. I thought that if I log in early, I could get advice from other players." Said Eliza as an NPC waitress brought our drinks.
​"That's when you met those three fools." I said talking my cup making Eliza nods her head.
​"If you want, we can party until it's time for you to meet your friends? That way I can give you tips. Where is this meeting place anyway?" I ask hoping that she will agree to my request.
​​"That be great and I'm supposed to meet them in the next town." Said Eliza making me smile before saying, "The next town belongs to the elves. It's called Elwood. There are some tough monsters on the way but it should be ok if we party."
​"Ok." Said Eliza and I swipe my hand to send Eliza a party invite before draining the contents of my drink.
​​"Shall we go then?" I said standing up making Eliza nodded her head before we set out towards the south exit in the town.
​​"We'll use the switch system that way we can avoid any unnecessary deaths." I said making Eliza nods her head.
​​"Eliza, switch." I said as I parry an attack from a giant tree monster making Eliza run forward with her rapier raised. I made a small whistle as I watch Eliza make quick thrust of her rapier at the base of the tree before it squeak and shatter into green shards.
​​"You handle that nicely." I said commenting her swordsmanship making Eliza blush. We were at the halfway point towards Elwood when we were ambush by a tree monster.
​"If we keep this up, you'll probably gain another two or three levels before we reach Elwood." I said passing her a vial of potion and she took it to her mouth gratefully while I went to sit on the grass.
​​"Are you sure you're a beginner?" I ask her making her nod her head.
​​"I'm a beginner in this game but it's not my first time making a dive." Said Eliza and I nodded my head saying, "I thought it was weird."
​​"What do you mean?" ask Eliza surprise while looking me and I said, "Oh, I just meant it was weird, how you adapted so quickly to the game since you were a beginner."
​​"Oh." Said Eliza as I stood up saying, "Yeah, I didn't mean anything by it, so are you ready to go?"
​​"Yeah." Said Eliza and we made our way towards our destination while continuing to slay monsters. When we finally reach Elwood, Eliza's had reach level ten.
​"Liza!" Yelled a girl's voice from behind us and we turn around. We were in the marketplace when Eliza's friend a girl with short pink hair spotted us. She carries a long sword along with a small buckler.
​​"Bella." Said Eliza happily, when her friend had reached us. Bella then turns an eye towards me before cupping a hand over Eliza's ear to whisper something, and judging from the reaction that Eliza made, it must have been something embarrassing.
​​"He's not my boyfriend." Said Eliza loudly confirming my suspicions said I said, "Eliza and I just happen to meet each other when I had some business to take care of in the Town of Beginning. I'm Kira by the way."
​​"Kira?" said Bella softly making me nods my head.
​​"You can't possibly be the same Kira who cleared the seventy-fifth boss alone using his signature twin swords Flametongue and Icebrand. Don't tell my you're the strongest solo player in GSA?" said Bella very fast and I smile bashfully before saying, "Yes that's me."
​​"That's what I thought," Said Bella crossing her arms with her eyes close
​"I mean why would the strongest....ehh?" said Bella now opening her eyes and mouth in surprise.
​"I said that's me." I said making Bella's eyes glazed over as she said, "Then that means I just met the strongest player and I'm making a fool of myself."
​"It's fine; I'm just a player like everyone else." I said with a smile making Bella blush before she grabs Eliza by the neck.
​​"How did you get to meet Kira-sama?" Ask Bella in a loud whisper as I raise a finger to scratch my chin while thinking, "Kira-sama?"
​​"Excuse me?" I said clearing my throat making Bella turns to look at me with an awestruck face.
​​"I was just escorting Eliza here since I had free time." I said making Bella look at her friend with jealousy before saying, "Is this true Liza?" making Eliza nodded her head.
​​"I'm sorry if my friend here caused you any trouble Kira-sama." Said Bella bowing her head and I said, "She didn't, if anything I felt like I was the one causing her trouble since I was just targeting higher level monsters." This made Bella look at Eliza once more before exclaiming loudly, "No wonder your lever is to high for someone who just started." Eliza blush before she bows her head saying, "Thank you Kira, you really help me a lot."
​I just smile while saying, "It was fun for me. It's been forever since I party with someone."
​​"What do you mean?" ask Eliza and Bella together.
​"The last time I was in a party was three years against the first boss." I said making Bella's eyes open wide in shock.
​​"Three years ago? That's when the game was released. You mean you been a solo player for three years then?" ask Bella in awe and I nodded my head saying, "Yeah that sounds about right."
​​"Weren't you afraid of dying?" Asks Eliza
​"Not really, since you can always revive yourself in the nearest town anyways." I said making Bella raise a hand.
​​"Kira-sama, I have a favor to ask?" said Bella hopefully and I said, "Sure what is it?"
​​"I wish to see Flametongue and Icebrand." Said Bella making me smile as Eliza said, "Bella, you can't just ask him that."
​​"It's fine, Eliza, I get ask this most of the times anyway." I said before unsheathing both swords and Bella's eyes open wide in lust.
​"I can't believe I'm looking at the twin swords Flametongue and Icebrand." Said Bella in awe as she eyes the two swords in my hand
​​"Why are they called twin swords anyway? Don't they have a different attribute?" Asks Eliza making Bella turns to look at her with a surprise look.
​​"They are call twin swords because they're a rare drop from an event. The event is called Fire and Ice on level sixty. In this event, you have a time limit to beat the bosses." I explain making Eliza look at me.
​​"Bosses? Plural?" Asks Eliza and I nodded my head saying, "The Fire and Ice event have two bosses, and they are the twin dragons. The older brother is the fire dragon and the younger brother, the ice dragon. Once you defeat the younger brother, the older one takes its place and you'll have to defeat it to clear the event. If you only beat the younger brother and lose to the older brother, you'll gain a massive amount of exp plus the ice crystal an S-class crafting material."
​"But if you manage to defeat both brothers, you will receive both the ice and fire crystal along with Icebrand and Flametongue. The event only happens once a year and since it's a timer event, you'll have to beat the dragons before the events over. Once the event's time closes, you'll have to wait another year to take it again but if you failed on your first try, you can always take it again as long as there is time left that is." I said finishing the event story making Bella said, "I heard that you cleared the event on your first try." This made me roll my eyes as I remember the post from G-Grave.
​"I did but barely only. I had run out of potions and I was one hit away from clearing or having to start the event over again but luckily I was able to land an attack before it can attack again." I said sheathing both swords again as Bella crossed her arms with a smile.
​​"That event has made you well known."
​​"Actually, that was G-Grave's fault." I said making Eliza smile
​"I have to get going now, so this is goodbye for now." I said as I navigated to the party list to disband my party making Eliza make a look of disappointment.
​"You wouldn't mind being a friend would you?" I ask making Eliza smile before she said, "I don't mind." I smile before saying, "How about you Bella?"
​​"I would be honor to have you as a friend." Said Bella excitedly making me smile before I sent them a friend request making Bella squeal with delight.
​​"If you need anything, just pm me and I'll come teleporting, this means you too Bella." I said making both Eliza and Bella nods their head with a smile.
​​"I'll see you later then." I said before waving a hand and making my way towards an inn as Bella squeal with delight saying, "Oh my god, friending is basically asking for one's number." I shook my head before entering the inn to logout.
