Jealousy and the Virtual Date

"I was wondering when you were going to come back." Said Jun as I sat up to take off the Neuro.
"How long have you been standing there?" I ask as I sat on the chair by my desk and Jun came to sit on the bed.
"Just a few minutes ago." Said Jun as I check my mail.
"I see, what is it?" I ask her as I open the mail from Tanaka.
"Nothing, I was just wondering if you wanted to go somewhere with me." Said Jun as I scan the letter before saying, "Sure, where to?"
"Anywhere." Said Jun as I quickly type a reply before clicking the send button and turning to face Jun.
"Anywhere?" I ask making Jun nods her head before saying, "Lets just take a walk."
"A walk? I guess. I have nothing to do at the moment anyways, since I've already completed my theory." I said standing up making Jun raise her eyebrows.
"Another theory?" She ask skeptically and I made a small smile before saying, "Don't worry, it's nothing as dangerous as my last theory. I just wanted to confirm if I can still use one handed sword techniques while I'm duel wielding."
"I see." Said Jun and I made a small chuckle since I knew she had no idea what I just told her.
"How long have we known each other?" Asks Jun as we were walking towards the river and I turn to look at her saying, "Hmm we met each other in preschool, and now we're in our second year of high school so for a pretty long time I guess, why?"
"I was just wondering if you remembered." Said Jun as we reach the river and we sat down on the grass looking at the river.
"Jun." I said while looking at the water making Jun looks at me.
"I'm thinking of changing my name." I said surprising Jun
"What do you mean?" Ask Jun as I stared at the water saying, "I'm thinking of changing my surname to my mom's."
"What about your first name then?" Ask Jun and I turn to face her with a smile, "That's easy. I'm changing it to Akira but you can just call me Kira."
"Kira as in the name of the character you made?" Ask Jun and I nodded my head saying, "Did you know that my mother actually wanted to name me Akira instead?"
"Really?"
"Yeah but that jerk made her change her mind and that's why I was name Zeke but to tell the truth, I don't really like the name Akira either." I said with a smile making Jun rest her head on my shoulders and we just stay quiet for a while.
"Let's go back shall we?" Ask Jun and I just nodded my head so we both stood up to walk back to the house. I woke up the next day at my usual time and I noticed that Jun and her parents weren't up yet so I went into the kitchen to start cooking. As I was frying the fish, Yumi came into the kitchen.
"Good morning." I said surprising her and she smile saying, "Good morning. I didn't expect you to be in here cooking."
"It's no problem at all, I guess I'm just used to it." I said with a smile making Yumi smile as she sat down on a chair.
"Sometimes, I just wish that girl will wake early one day and I find her cooking in the kitchen." Said her mom making me smile just as Jun walk in through the door saying, "Good morning, what's for breakfast mom." We both smile as she went to sit on a chair in front of her mom.
"We're having fish it seems." Said her mother looking at Jun as she yawned and I smile while turning the fish over.
"Huh, ehh, mom." Said Jun now looking at her mother clearly
"If you're sitting here then who's cooking?" Said Jun before she turns to face me and I wave the cooking chopsticks in front of her saying, "Morning."
"Ze...Zeke you're up." Said Jun embarrass and we both started laughing loudly making her red in the face.
"Zeke why are you cooking?" Asks Jun surprise
"It's just something I do when I was..." I pause not wanting to say more and I guess that Yumi must have notice what I was about to say because she said, "Why don't I take care of breakfast for now."
"Are you sure?" I asks making Yumi wave her hand at me as she stood up to take an apron and I handed her the chopsticks before taking off the apron I had around my waist.
"Zeke, lets go to the dojo?" Ask Jun making me look at her in surprise before I nodded my head and follow her to the dojo.
"Why did you want to come here?" I asks her when we were inside the dojo and Jun made her way to the bamboo swords
"I always practice here before breakfast." Said Jun picking out a bamboo sword as I went to sit beside the holding case.
"Really?" I asks as Jun made her way to the center of the dojo nodding her head before she started swinging the sword down. I sat there watching Jun swing the bamboo sword down and before long, I was slowly drifting off asleep.
"Zeke," said Jun making me open my eyes to see her standing in front of me and I stood up immediately.
"What?" I asks as Jun started giggling before she said, "I asks if you wanted to spar with me?"
"Oh, um ok." I said before I grab one of the bamboo swords from the case.
"No armor?" I ask her and she shook her head saying, "I trust that you'll be able to stop your attack before it lands." This made me smile before we both went to stand in the middle of the dojo.
"Hmm," said Jun questionably and I said, "What?"
"This just doesn't feel right." Said Jun looking at how I was holding my sword with just my right hand.
"Does it really matter?" I ask making Jun shook her head before she said, "Lets begin shall we?" I nodded my head making Jun step forward swinging her sword down towards my head and I raise my own sword to block her attack.
"Even if we aren't wearing any armor, I don't expect you to go easy on me." Said Jun as we locked our swords and I smile saying, "You don't have to worry about that." I then push Jun back make her stumble back a few steps. I then made a downward slash before pointing the tip of the bamboo sword at Jun.
"Ready?" I asks making Jun narrows her eyes before she ran towards me with her sword raise. In a lighting fast move, I was able to disarm Jun without harming her making her sword flew into the air.
"No way." Said Jun turning around as I caught the sword's hilt in my left hand. I swung the swords in a circle using my wrists before crisscrossing them in front of me and then resting them by my side.
"Trying to act cool?" Asks Jun obviously peeved that I was able to disarm her and I smile faultily saying, "Force of habit."
"Show me." Said Jun surprising me so I said, "Show you what?"
"Show me the best combo you learn from your game." Said Jun and I smile bashfully.
"Right here?"
"Right here." Said Jun with a determined face and I sigh before I took in a deep breath and exhale it before muttering, "Twilight Slash." I then raise my right hand to make a downward slash before following it up with my left hand and then a series of fast slashes and thrust from all directions. I finish the combo by raising both my hands behind me before swinging it down in the form of a X.
"I lost count how many hits was that?" Asks Jun the surprise in her voice evident as I stood straight
"That was one of my favorite duel wielding combo from the game, it's called Twilight Slash and its a fifty hit combo." I said making Jun's mouth open in shock.
"That was fifty?" Asks Jun and I nodded my head before she said, "Your hands were moving so fast that I couldn't even see, how can you be so sure that that was fifty swings?"
"I told you didn't I? The bleeding effect theory."
"That doesn't explain how you know it was fifty swings?"
Asks Jun getting peeve again so I said, "Practice. I practiced and practiced until my body got the movement memorized."
"You two, breakfast is ready." Said Senjuro poking his head inside the dojo and we turn to look at him before Jun said, "We'll be there." Senjuro nodded his head before he left the door ajar as I put both the swords away and we made our way to the main house.
"What are you going to do today?" Asks Jun as we made our way back to the house and I turn to look at her saying, "I'm suppose to meet Eliza after lunch today but that's about it."
"Eliza?" Asks Jun surprise and I nodded my head saying, "She's another player from the game."
"Really?" Said Jun in a slightly angry voice but I didn't notice the tone so I just said, "Yeah, I'm helping her clear some levels."
"Have fun." Said Jun stepping on my toes angrily before she made her way quickly inside the house as I jump up and down on my left foot while holding my right.
"What's her problem?" I asks as the pain in my foot subsided and I made my way inside the house to see everyone already sitting at the dinner table. We began eating as soon as I sat down and when we were finish, Jun announced that she had to go to school for her club and she left.
"I think I will start doing my homework." I said to myself as I enter my room while looking at the pile of textbooks on my desk along with Jun's notebook that I had borrowed. I went to sit on the chair before opening my math textbook to the correct page and started working on the homework I had missed and summer homework. By lunchtime, I was finished with my missing homework and was just about to start my summer homework when my door opens and Yumi came inside the room with a tray of rice balls on a plate along with a cup of tea.
"I thought that maybe you might be getting hungry." Said Yumi and I smile saying, "Thank you, auntie." Yumi nodded her head with a smile before she set the tray atop of my dresser while saying, "I'll just leave the tray here."
"Senjuro and I are going out for a bit, do you need anything while we're gone?" ask Yumi and I shook my head saying, "No thank you auntie."
"All right, Jun should be home around three." Said Yumi before she left the room closing the door behind her and I stood up to grab the tray of rice balls before making my way back to the chair. I sat on the chair eating the rice balls one by one with my left hand while working on my homework with my right hand and once I was finish with the rice ball, I took the tea and begins sipping it. When I was finish drinking the tea, I made my way down the stairs to the kitchen to wash my dishes before I made a light lunch for Jun and made my way back up to my room.
"I guess, I will take a break from homework for a bit." I said grabbing the Neuro and going to lie down on my bed before setting the Neuro over my head.
"Connect." I said closing my eyes.
I open my eyes to see my the stone ceiling of the inn that I had spent the night in before I sat up to make my way down the stairs and out the door towards the teleporting altar.
"Teleport: Gardenia." I said as I stood in the middle of the altar and immediately I am engulf in the blue light before I reappear in the teleporting altar of the level ten city. I step off the steps and turn my head looking left and right before I realized that I didn't tell Eliza where we were suppose to meet so I swipe my left hand to bring up the menu. I navigated to my friend's lists and swipe down the many names to find Eliza and seeing her name, I tap on it to bring up sub menu.
"Hmm It's says she should be here." I said reading the words under the location menu before I swipe my hand down to make the menu disappears completely. I made my way into the marketplace and I smile seeing players running around or talking to their friends. I scan the crowd looking for the familiar hairstyle that Eliza had and not seeing her, I made my way into the nearest inn to find her sitting by a table along with two male players talking to her.
I made a small smile before I went to the bar and sat on a stool saying, "Water." The bartender nodded his head before he place a cup of water in front of me and I took it turning around to face Eliza and the two male player. I watch as she made a blush slightly before she shook her head and opens her mouth to talk. I sat on the stool drinking the water slowly until the male players left before I drain the contents of my drink and toss a gold coin onto the table. I stood up making my way towards Eliza and when I reached her, I said, "Friends of yours?"
"Kira, you surprised me." Said Eliza flinching in surprise as I sat in front of her
"Sorry." I said with a smile
"You saw that?" She asks me and I nodded my head making her cover her face with her hands
"Sorry if I made you wait long." I said changing the topic making her remove her hands saying, "No I just got here myself not long ago."
"I see. Well ready to clear this level?" I asks making Eliza smiles before she nodded her head and I sent her a party invite. Once Eliza accepted the invitation, we both stood up to make our way towards the level ten dungeon.
"The boss's name is Kobald the Fearsome. It carries a one handed broad axe along with a round buckler. Kobald's hp is only three bars but once it hp diminishes to red, it will activate it's special ability, Roar, raising it's attributes." I explain to Eliza who nodded her head in understanding and I smile.
"I won't actually fight Kobald but I will help you with healing supplies. That way you will gain all the exp and along with the winnings, is that ok with you?" I said making Eliza nod her head once more as we enter the dungeon entrance
"Nervous?" I asks making Eliza nods her head once more and I smile saying, "I get nervous too."
"No way?" said Eliza surprise and I made a small chuckle while saying, "I'm serious."
"Even now?" asks Eliza and I nodded my head saying, "Even now."
"But you don't look like you're nervous at all?"
"I do, I just don't show it." I said making Eliza shook her head as we heard a growling sound.
"What was that?" Asks Eliza as I narrow my eyes
"Watch out." I said pushing Eliza to the ground just as an arrowhead flew above us before I push her away from me just as a sword came flying down towards our head.
"Goblins." I said standing up to see three human size goblins, two holding a sword and the other a bow.
"You ok?" I asks looking at Eliza who nodded her head and I crack my neck before unsheathing Flametongue just as Eliza unsheathe her rapier.
"I'm going to take of care the archer and one of the warrior, you take care of the other." I order making Eliza nodded her head before I rush in towards the nearest Goblin with Flametongue raise to make a jump into the air landing behind it only to make my way towards the Archer.
"Tried to catch us surprise did you?" I said as I dodge the attack from the archer before I said, "Gale force." Flametongue then glows red before I made the combo and the goblin made a screech before it disappears just as the second goblin swung it's sword at me. I turn around with Flametongue raise before I unsheathe Icebrand to make a quick slash to the goblin's midsection where it also made a screech before disappearing.
"Need any help?" I ask looking at Eliza as she dodges an attack from the goblin before she made a rush towards the Goblin and made several quick taps at the Goblin before it also digitize.
"What help?" she asks me smugly and I made a small chuckle before sheathing my swords. We then continue our way towards the boss's chamber while slaying monsters and when we finally reach the boss's room, I turn to face Eliza saying, "Still nervous?"
"Not really." Said Eliza and I smile saying, "I'm going to open the door now." Making Eliza nods her head before I opens the door to reveal a dark room. As we made our way inside the room, the two poles nearest to us suddenly burst into flames before a semi circle lights up showing a giant Goblin like monster carrying a giant broad axe easily with one hand and a small round buckler in the other along with smaller size Goblins.
"I'll take care of the small fries and you focus on Kobald." I said making Eliza nods her head before we made a rush towards Kobald. I made a dodge to the left as Kobald brought its axe down and I turn to look at Eliza if she was ok before I made my way towards the goblins to start attacking.
"Kira." Said Eliza making me look up in time to see Kobald's axe flying down towards me. I raise both Icebrand and Flametongue up in an X successfully blocking the attack and when the weapons collided, it sent a shockwave.
"Amazing." Said Eliza amaze that I was able to keep my footings as Kobald raises its axe once more
"Eliza." I said snapping Eliza out of her amazement in time to see the Kobald's shield ramming into her.
"Damn." I said before making my way towards her while slashing away at the goblins
"Are you ok?" I asks Eliza as she tries to stand up and I could see that her hp had drop to orange
"I will be...ahh." Scream Eliza as I pick up to by her knees to jump out of Kobald's attack range.
"Here, drink this." I said handing her a green vile and she took it to her mouth immediately as Kobald and it's minions made their way towards us. Once Eliza had drain the contents of the potion, we made our way towards Kobald and she begins attacking Kobald with renew strength as I easily took out its companions.
"Garrhh!" roared Kobald as I slash the last of his minions making me look at him to see him glowing red before he threw his buckler away.
"That's roar. Eliza switch." I said making Eliza nods her head before she made a few jumps back as I came forward. Kobald swung it's axe towards me using both his hands and as I block the attack using my swords, I could feel myself move towards the left.
"Switch." I said jumping back as Eliza came forward with her rapier glowing just as Kobald swung its axe down and I yelled, "Eliza!" Eliza made a quick spin in midair towards the right before she landed twenty quick jabs at Kobald and when she landed on the ground she said, "Switch." I made a dash forward to block an attack from Kobald before saying, "Eliza finish him."
"Right." Said Eliza as she ran towards Kobald just as it swung it's axe towards Eliza's left side
"To slow." I said as I made my way in between the attack and Eliza as Eliza ran pass me to land the finishing blow to Kobald. Kobald let out a roar before it digitized leaving the words "Congratulations." In big bold letters making Eliza squeal in delight before she ran towards me to give me a hug, surprising me.
"I can't believe it." Said Eliza stilling hugging me and I smile before I place my arms around her saying, "You did great."
"Thanks so much Kira." Said Eliza letting go of me before she smiles and I replied, "No problem."
"Now I can finally move on." Said Eliza as we made our way to the opposite door and we step through it and into Atlantis.
"Atlantis, the city of water." I said as Eliza turns her whole body around to take in the site. To our left was a giant floating waterfall and our right was a large lake that seem to go on forever.
"This is so beautiful." Said Eliza as I smile saying, "If you think this place is beautiful then you should see Rosalie."
"Rosalie?" asks Eliza turning to face me and I nodded my head saying, "Rosalie's the name of city on fortyfith floor, and as it's name implies, it's a garden city."
"Really? I would love to see that." Said Eliza to which I reply, "You can if you just allow me to send you the information."
"But then that will make my quest here meaningless." Said Eliza making me raise my eyebrows before I understood what she mean so I said, "I get it. You want to get there by yourself. I'm like that too."
"Thanks for understanding." Said Eliza as we made our way into the town's teleporting altar where Eliza updated her teleporting info.
"Kira, if you don't mind, can we stop here for a while?" asks Eliza making me look at her
"I just mean that I want to stay here and level up some more before I take on the next boss." Explained Eliza and I nodded my head saying, "Sure, if that's what you want." Making Eliza smiles before she said, "One more thing?"
"Hmm?" I asks making Eliza look at me bashfully
"Umm, do you mind if I get your email?" She asks me all in one breath making me smile before I said, "That's fine with me."
"Really?" She asks surprise and I just nodded my head before sending her the info she had ask of me making her smile before I say, "I have to get back to the real world, if you need anything, just email me."
"Ok." Said Eliza before I disbanded our party and I made my way into the nearest inn to log out.
I open my eyes thinking that maybe I will see Jun looking down at me once more but not seeing her, I smile while taking off the Neuro and made my way down the stairs. When I reach the kitchen, I notice that the food I made was gone but Jun was nowhere to be seen so I made my way out of the house and towards the dojo.
Once I got to the dojo, I open the door to see Jun practicing alone so I took off my shoes before stepping inside the dojo saying, "Welcome back."
"Hmm." Said Jun angrily before she swung her sword once more as I went to sit on the dojo floor in front of her.
"What?" she asks me as I stared at her and I raise my hands saying, "Nothing."
"How was your date?" asks Jun as she swung her sword making me roll my eyes while thinking, "So that's it?"
"It wasn't a date, I was just helping another player to clear a dungeon." I said knowing that Jun won't listen anyways
"Were the two of you alone?" she asks me and I nodded my head saying, "Yes but..."
"That was a date." Said Jun interrupting me making me let out a sigh before I said, "Fine it was a date."
"Oh so you admitted it then?" said Jun making me exhale loudly before I said, "If I said it wasn't a date then you get mad and if I said it's a date you still get mad. This is why I don't get girls at all."
"Forget this, I'm going to go take a shower." Said Jun angrily before she drop the bamboo sword on the floor and made her way of out of the dojo in a huff. I stood up shaking my head before going to pick up the sword and as I was about to place the sword back into the case, I stood looking at the other bamboo swords before I smile. I took a second bamboo sword out of the case before I made my way to the middle of the room and started practicing with the two swords. What I didn't notice was that Jun was watching me until I made a run short run to jump into the air to make a three hundred and sixty degree corkscrew spin while holding the swords close to my body.
"How did you do that?" asks Jun suddenly as she opens the dojo door surprising me.
"What do you mean?" I asks as I place the swords back into the case and Jun made her way towards me.
"You know exactly what I mean." Said Jun placing her hands on her hips and I sigh saying, "I just happen to be able to do it when I was in training."
"Training?" Asks Jun and I nodded my head while saying, "While I was still in the middle of completing the Bleeding Effect, I also had some physical training and one day I wanted to test if I could do the flip."
"Zeke, you are the craziest boy that I have ever known." Said Jun turning around making me shook my head before she said, "But you're also the coolest boy I have ever known." She then made a run towards the door leaving me speechless.
