GSA: Grand Sword Adventure

Ragnarok and Identities

​I was slowly getting used to living with Jun and her parents while slowly making progress clearing levels with Eliza in GSA. When I wasn't partied up with Eliza, I made it my duty to map out the level ninety-two dungeons but soon it was time for the legendary event to start.
​"I will be gone for a while." I told Jun when she came into my room to borrow a textbook.
​"Where are you going to go?" she asks me and I smile while grabbing the Neuro saying, "There's this legendary event that's about to happen and I'm going to clear it." This made Jun shook her head while saying, "Do what you want." Before she left the room and I went to lie down on my bed with the Neuro over my head.
​"Connect." I said closing my eyes before I reopen them to see the ceiling of the inn that I was staying in and I made my way out of the door.
​"Teleport: Dragonmarsh." I said as I stood in the middle of the teleporting altar and I was teleported to the middle of the town. I open my eyes to see players wearing all kinds of armors and along with all kinds of weapons standing in the middle of the town, some talking and others quiet. I made a small smile as I scan the players until my eyes rested on G-Grave and I made my way towards him.
​"Yo." I said waving my hands making G-Grave turns towards me with a smile while crossing his arms saying, "Ah, there you are, I was wondering when you were going to show up."
​"Don't tell me you were thinking that I won't show up?" I ask making G-Grave shook his head saying, "Oh I knew you were going to show. Just to let you, since this is a legendary event, the creators are going to broadcast the fight live."
​"I see, so I guess it's going to be a huge group event then?" I ask while looking to the left and right making G-Grave nod his head as a chime was heard.
​"The Legendary Event, Ragnarok will begin shortly. For all players who are participating, please make your way to Dragonmarsh. To all other players, there will be a live feed of the event taking place. I repeat: The Legendary Event, Ragnarok will begin shortly. For all players who are participating, please make your way to Dragonmarsh. To all other players, there will be a live feed of the event taking place."
​"It's starting." I said with a smile as the sky above us suddenly changes from a blue cloudless sky to a dark stormy looking sky before a portal opens in front to the teleporting stone.
​"I'll see you in a bit then G." I said waving a hand before making my way towards the portal along with the participating players. As I pass through the portal, I saw players just standing around looking into the sky before I raise my head to see a shooting star like object falling towards us. I narrow my eyes trying to get a clearer view and when I could make out the black leathery hide of the dragon, I unsheathed my weapons just as other players did the same.
​"Sorry, Kira but today I'm getting that legendary sword." Said a person to my left and I turn my head to see a man with long white hair carrying a katana.
​"Is that a challenge KT?" I ask with a smile making KT shook his head as he said, "Not a challenge but a statement." I nodded my head as Ragnarok landed on the ground with a loud crash sending debris and dust everywhere. Ragnarok then rear its neck before letting out an ear piercing roar making players started running towards it. I made a rush towards Ragnarok along with the other players and as Ragnarok open its mouth to shoot out a ten meter long fire breath, I made a spinning jump into the air to avoid the attack just as KT did the same. The less fortunate players were disintegrated immediately.
​"With just one attack." Said KT surprise while I shook my head as I continue my run while the closer players were already beginning their attacks. Ragnarok lets out another roar before swinging its tails sending two players into air.
​"This is madness, why did I even join this event?" yelled a player as he begins to run back towards the portal.
​"Idiot." I said as I made a jump into the air to land an attack to Ragnarok's head staggering it. As Ragnarok made a few steps back the players let out a cheer before KT yells, "If you have time to cheer then start attacking." This made the other players started attacking the front legs of Ragnarok as I raise Icebrand and Flametongue yelling, "Twilight Slash."
​"What a high level of defense?" I said as I finish the combo only to see a small portion of Ragnarok's hp drop.
​"I'll have to use enforce." I said before I made a jump up into the sky while yelling, "Enforce." My body then glows brightly for a second before I made my body spin in midair to land a powerful attack between the eyes of Ragnarok. Ragnarok then lets out a roar before trying to shake me off its head but I made a back flip into the air landing on the ground safely.
​"Everyone use enforce!" I yelled as loud as I can before multiple bright lights appear where the players were standing before they continue their attacks. I watch as Ragnarok took a step back before spreading its wings to fly into the air blowing players away from it.
​"Take cover?" I yelled as Ragnarok's flames erupted on in its closed mouth before it opens it to release multiple fireballs towards the ground making players started running everywhere trying to dodge the attacks. Ragnarok then turns towards me before aiming a fireball at me but I made a jump into the air just as the fireball hit the ground where I was standing moments before.
​"Damn, enforce's effect is going to run out soon." I said as I look at my hp bar to see a light blue bar steadily diminishing as Ragnarok landed on the ground and I made my way towards it.
​"I guess it's now or never." I said before making another jump towards the head of Ragnarok's head.
​"Gale force." I said raising Flametongue before combing successive one handed sword combos.
​"Double Slash." I said as I made another jump into midair to land a spinning slash towards the snout of Ragnarok making it lose its footings.
​"Whoa." I said as Ragnarok's head slowly drops to the ground surprising the players
​"Don't just stare, attack!" I order snapping the few players back to the battle before they started attacking again.
​"Damn, Enforce's effect just worn off." I said as the blue bar completely disappears from my hp bar.
​"Whatever. Poison thrust." I said making Flametongue glow with a poisonous hue before I thrust it into Ragnarok.
​"Darkness Touch." I said this time raising Icebrand as it became coated with a black aura before I made a slash between the eyes once more.
​"Damn." I said, as I had to make another backflip onto the ground just as Ragnarok stood back up to breath once more.
​"Shit." I said as I made a dodge roll to take shelter under Ragnarok's belly.
​"Twilight Slash." I said aiming for the belly and I immediately saw how fast Ragnarok's hp fell.
​"Of course, how stupid." I said remembering that a Dragon's defense is weaker in the belly.
​"Gale Force, Wrath of Zeus." I said chaining combo after combo until Ragnarok's spreads its wings to take flight once more.
​"Dragoons, aim for those wings!" I yelled and immediately players were jumping into the air aiming for the giant leathery wing of Ragnarok bringing it tumbling down to the ground.
​"Great. Enforce." I said as I started running towards Ragnarok just as it begins to get up once more.
​"Everyone attack the underbelly!" I yelled as I slid under the long neck of Ragnarok before raising up Flametongue and Icebrand just as other players ran to join up with me.
​"Gale force, Wraith of Zeus, Twins Dragon's Roar, Twin Dragon's Revenge, Dance of the Twin Dragons, Twilight Slash, Gale Force!" I yelled combo after combo making the players around me stood in shock as I overcame the cool down bar.
​"One last hit." I said before I thrust both of my swords into Ragnarok were it let out a roar of pain before is slowly disintegrated into blue lights. The players around me suddenly stood still for a moment until they started cheering loudly as the word's Congratulations appears in big bold letters.
​"I never would have thought that the cool bar system could be overcome by chaining combos from both dual and one wielding." Said KT coming to stand next to me as I look at a submenu in front me telling me that since I had dealt the last blow, I was awarded the cursed sword Ragnarok along with a S-class crafting item called Orichalcum Ingot.
​"I didn't think it's possible until I tried it on Grimm Reaper." I said with a smile before closing the submenu making KT smirk as he said, "You really are the number one player, Kira." I smile before turning around to make my way to the portal where everyone was headed and once I pass through, I was surprise by the crowd's loud cheering.
​"There he is?"
​"That was great."
​"Let me shake your hand." Players after players came over to congratulate me as I made my way to G-Grave and when I reached him, he said, "That was awesome, great leadership skills."
​"What are you talking about? It's just what I thought would make this fight a lot easier."
​"Yeah, yeah say what you want but damn Kira you defeated Ragnarok without even dropping a single hp." Said G-Grave making me shook my head before I said, "It was nothing. Oh keep this between us, I won't be log on for a few days."
​"Nough said, I don't need to know the reason." Said G-Grave raising his hand up to my face and I smile gratefully at him before I made my way into an inn waving my hand.
​"It's already dark." I said as I took off the Neuro to look out into the window before I stood up stretching my arms.
​"As promise, I will spend the whole day with you today." I said to Jun the next day in the morning while she was in the dojo practicing.
​"Oh so you'll accompany me to my practice then?" Asks Jun as she swung her sword down and I smile saying, "Yeah a promise is a promise."
​"Then let's go get some breakfast, I'm sure mom have already finish cooking." Said Jun before she went to put her sword away and I handed her a towel.
​"Thanks." Said Jun slightly blushing as she took the towel to begin wiping her sweat.
​"So Zeke, oh no it's Akira now is it?" Said Yumi using my new name as I nodded my head with a smile. I had ask Jun's parents for permission a few days ago if it was ok if I were to change my name legally and they had agree so instead of Amiya Zeke, I'm now Asakura Akira.
​"Akira, what will you be doing today?" asks Yumi and I smile as I replied, "I promise Jun that I would keep her company today."
​"Oh is that so?" asks Yumi looking at Jun who blush again before she said, "Yes, mom."
​"How nice." Said Yumi with a smile before we begin eating in silence.
​"How did it go? Your game I mean?" Asks Jun as we made our way to the school and I turn to face her saying, "We cleared it in one hour and I was able to attain Ragnarok."
​"Is playing games really that fun?" Asks Jun in a slightly sad voice and I shift my head to the side before saying, "I only got into it because it was a means of an escape to me but now I don't really know anymore. After my mom....after that I just don't know anymore." As I kept my head to the side, Jun grabs my arm to link it with hers surprising me so I turn to see her smiling.
​"If you don't know then just take your time." Said Jun making me smile before I nod my head. We continue walking with my arm in hers in silence until we reach the school and when we got there once of Jun's teammate saw us, she yelled, "Yashida-senpai!"
​"Oh Liza-chan, hi." Said Jun talking to her brown hair friend as I stared at her whispering, "Liza?"
​"Oh, I'm sure you know who this is right?" asks Jun pointing at me and Liza nodded her head.
​"Oh wait, is it ok if I tell her?" Jun asks and I said, "Sure, I guess."
​"As you know this person is Amiya Zeke but he had his name change to Asakura Akira but he wants to be known as Kira." Said Jun making Liza whisper, "Kira?"
​"And Kira, this is Fujiwara Elizabeth or Liza for short." Said Jun and I bow my head saying, "Nice to meet you."
​"You too." Said Elizabeth also bowing her head as she blush making a memory of Eliza flash in mind before Jun said, "Liza's in the kendo club as me, she's also a first year."
​"I see." I said as the three of us made our way to the kendo dojo
​"Fujiwara-chan, by any chance do you play GSA?" I tried to asks casually making Elizabeth's eyes open wide in shock before she blush shaking her head and I place a hand on my chin thinking, "Maybe she's not her then." as Jun said, "Just ignore him, he's not very social. Aren't you Kira?"
​"Huh?" I said looking at Jun before she shook her saying, "See what did I told you?" this made Elizabeth giggle leaving me with a surprise expression before we enter the dojo room to see both the boys and girls team already in their protective armor practicing.
​"Ah, Yashida you're finally here." Said a male teacher wearing glasses and a darkish blue hakama.
​"Oh sensei." Said Jun bowing her head as the kendo instructor made his way over to us.
​"I hope you don't mind that I brought a friend along, sensei." Said Jun as the instructor made a stop in front of us saying, "Oh, how nice to see you, Asakura-kun, I'm Kazuto Teppei, the Kendo instructor."
​"Nice to meet you." I said bowing my head while thinking, "Kazuto Teppei? KT? Can't be right?" as Jun said, "Sensei, how did you know that he change his name?"
​"What do you mean how? Remember I had to come here to change my name." I said out loud making Teppei smile as Jun narrow her eyes angrily at me.
​"No matter, glad you can join us today. Are you here to watch or are you thinking of joining?" asks Teppei and I reply, "Just to watch sir."
​"Oh very well then, Yashida if you will please get ready, practice is about to start soon." Said Teppei making Jun nods her head before she said, "I'll be back."
​"Asakura-kun," Said Teppei making me look at him
​"Yashida has told me about your mother, I hoped you didn't mind?" said Teppei as he turns to watch his students and I shook my head saying, "It's ok."
​"Really? Well if you have anything you want to talk about don't hesitate to ask me or any of the other teachers."
​"Of course sir." I said as Jun returns from the locker room fully dress and Teppei made his way to the middle saying, "All right everyone, let's begin practice. Now as..." I ignore what Teppei was saying and instead went to the wall near the entrance and sat down.
​"Tomorrow's my meeting with Hiromichi-san then after that will be my mother's funeral." I mutter going over my schedule for the week as everyone in the dojo begins to pair up for mock battles.
​"Hmm, I should be able to clear the game before summer is over, but what will I be doing after that?" I said to myself before I look up to see everyone taking their practice seriously so I scan the room for Jun. I found her in a mock battle with Teppei making my eyes open wide in shock before I stood up to make my way towards them.
​"It's seems you have gotten stronger again." Said Teppei once I got closer enough to hear what they were saying and Jun glance at me.
​"Oh, I see, so that's why you're in such a great shape today." Said Teppei nodding his head knowingly as when he glance at me making Jun blush while she said, "It's not like that sensei."
​"Joking, I'm just joking." Said Teppei as I went to lean on the wall to watch these two.
​"I just recently have a great sparring partner." Said Jun making Teppei reply, "Oh, then let's see what did you learn from this great sparring partner." He then made a dash forward while swinging down his sword making Jun raise her own sword to block the attack but when Teppei was close enough he swung the sword towards Jun's expose right side. I smile remembering this from our second duel as Jun swung her sword down to block the attack.
​"Great reaction time." Said Teppei complementing Jun's successive block making her smile as she said, "You won't be able to land an attack that slow."
​"Oh, and your trash talking has gotten a bit better." Said Teppei making me stifle a laugh earing a glare from Jun
​"Don't look away from your opponent." Said Teppei before he move in for another attack successfully landing the attack on her head.
​"No fair, I wasn't looking." Said Jun as I started laughing loudly making Jun stomp her foot angrily towards me.
​"Yashida, what I did I tell you about your opponent?" asks Teppei making Jun said, "But he..."
​"Yashida." Said Teppei sternly making Jun bow her head saying, "Not to look away from them."
​"Very good. As for Asakura-kun, if you're here watching then I would very much like it if you wouldn't distract our practice time."
​"I'm very sorry sir." I said bowing my head making Teppei smile before he said, "Asakura-kun, if you don't mind, would you like to have a match with me?"
​"Ehh?" said Jun and I surprise
​"Yashida told me that you practice with her every now and then and now you're evenly tie with one win each." Said Teppei with an innocent like smile and I smile knowing that he was hiding something so I bow my head saying, "I'm sure she told you that I know nothing of Kendo."
​"Of course, but as a fellow swordsmen, I'm sure you're looking for a challenge. Even if we're different swordsmen of two different worlds." Said Teppei and I smile before making my way to stand in front of Jun.
​"Then you wouldn't mind if I don't use the armor?" I asks making Teppei nods his head.
​"Jun, let me borrow that please." I said making Jun nods her head before she handed me her sword making everyone in the dojo stop their matches to watch us.
​"Sir, I have one request." I said making Teppei look at me in surprise, "If we are going to do this, I want you to give me your all."
​"I was planning to." Said Teppei before he grip his swords with both hands while I held the sword with one hand while pointing the tip of the sword up towards the ceiling.
​"Anytime you're ready." I said making Teppei nods his head before he made a faint by taking a step forward only to stop and I just stood still watching his shoulders.
​"A faint won't work on me sir." I said with a smile making Teppei smile as he said, "Here I come." This time Teppei made a step forward with his sword raise before he brought it down making his students gasp in surprise as the sword came to a stop in inches from my face.
​"Why didn't you try to dodge or block my attack?" asks Teppei jumping back and I smile saying, "I didn't feel an intent to attack from you."
​"I should have known better." Said Teppei before he narrows his eyes in concentration as he made a step towards me with his sword raise. Teppei then swung his sword down but I easily parry the attack.
​"Sir, I thought I told you to give me your all." I repeated making Teppei said, "Then I shall have to ask you to give me your all too."
​"I will sir." I said making Teppei shook his head before he said, "You won't be able to give it your all if you don't have two swords." My eyes opens wide in surprise before I smile saying, "Just don't regret your decision, Sensei. Jun can you get me another sword?"
​"Sensei?" asks Jun surprise making Teppei nods his head before Jun went to get a second sword for me.
​"Now that's more like it." Said Teppei as I took hold of the sword in my left hand before twisting my wrist to make the swords spins before resting them by my side while bending my knees making Elizabeth's eyes open in shock along with the other members.
​"Hey isn't that what...."
​"Yeah." I exhale as I heard these being whisper before Teppei said, "Are you ready?"
​"Yes sir." I said making Teppei rush towards me with his own sword raise before he swung it down. I raise my right hand to block the attack while swinging my left hand to make an attack to Teppei's expose right side but before I could land the attack, he jumps away.
​"Nice reaction." Said Teppei with a smile to which I reply, "You too sir. I'll attack now."
​"Bring it." Said Teppei before I made a run towards him to swing my sword down only to smile and twist my body to the left so that I can made a slash with my left hand.
​"Powerful." Said Teppei as he easily block the attack by brining his sword down and I smile before making a right slash towards him only to have him jump out of the way again.
​"His movements reminds me of KT." I thought as I parry another attack before making an counter attack.
​"What's wrong, is that all you can do?" Ask Teppei making me smirk before I thought, "I see now."
​"I guess I don't have to go easy on you KT." I said with a smile surprising everyone as Teppei made a smile saying, "You weren't suppose to tell anyone Kira."
​"No way, he's Kira?"
​"Now you done it." I said with a slight smile making Teppei said, "All the more reason for you to give it your all."
​"Right," I said before making a dash forward saying, "Dance of the Twin Dragons."
​"Dance of the Twin Dragons." Repeated Teppei surprise as I close in on him to quickly execute the combo.
​"No way, that is the Dance of the Twin Dragon." Said a boy loudly as I quickly make the slashes while Teppei parries and dodges each attack.
​"As expected from KT." I said making a jump back as Teppei made a slash.
​"This will be what, our hundredth duel?" I asks making Teppei smile as he said, "This one will our first duel in the real world."
​"This is a dream come true. The two best players are duking it out in front of our eyes." Said a boy excitedly loudly as I took a glance at Elizabeth to see that her eyes had a look of admiration just as Eliza would whenever we were partied and I smile.
​"You don't have time to look away." Said Teppei before he made a dash towards me swinging his sword towards me quickly.
​"Don't worry, I never let down my guard when an opponent is in front of me especially as one as strong as you." I said as I dodge, parry and block all of Teppei's attack.
​"I think I should end this." I said making Teppei narrows his eyes as I stood up straight while holding my two swords in an X.
​"That's..."
​"Twilight Slash." I said before making a jump towards Teppei to execute the fifty hit combo. Teppei then jumps back to try to avoid the attack but I soon caught up with him and begin making the slashes.
​"Whoa." Said the class excitedly as they watch the fast pace duel and I ended the combo.
​"I guess even in real life, all I could do is try to avoid getting hit by that combo." Said Teppei panting heavily.
​"I think you did better here than in Megil." I said also panting heavily
​"Last strike." Said Teppei and I nodded my head before he place his sword on his left side as I took in a deep breath.
​"As always, the quick draw." I said making Teppei smile as he said, "Let me tell you, my quick draw is even faster here."
​"Here I come." I said as I made a run towards Teppei as he closes his eyes and when I was nearer, he opens his eyes to make the quick slash towards me. As he begins to swing his sword, I made a jump into the air while spinning my body to land behind him.
