GSA: Grand Sword Adventure

The Legendary Event and A New Theory

​"Connect." I said closing my eyes.
​I open my eyes to stared into the mossy ceiling of the inn in Elwood before standing up. The first thing I notice was the new mails I had receive. I tap on the mail icon to find a bunch of mails from players wishing me well and good luck before I notice one from Eliza.
​"Umm Kira...I hope you get well soon and um I hope that we can party up again soon." I smile as I read the mail before scrolling down the mail to find one from G-Grave.
​"It's been to quiet since you went MIA, but I hope you the best. Once you come back, you know where to find me. I have new info if you want." I dismiss the rest of the message before stepping out of the room. I made my way down the stairs and was glad that there weren't any players inside the inn right now. I place a hand inside my coat to grab a blue crystal before raising it saying, "Teleport: Midgard."
​Once the teleportation was done, I found myself standing in the middle of Midgard.
​"Hey Kira's back." Said a player loudly making players in the vicinity turn their heads around to see me and before long I was surrounded by players welcoming me back. When I finally shook the last player's hand, I made my way towards G-Grave's news stand.
​"And the hero returns." Said G-Grave looking up when I had reach him.
​"What's the big deal? Everyone's acting like I came back from the dead." I said crossing my arms making G-Grave chuckle.
​"That's what happens when a famous player goes MIA for a few days."
​"I was gone for ten days only."
​"To those players who looks up to you as a legend, ten days felt like years." Said G-Grave in matter of fact voice making me shift my head slightly.
​"So, what's this info you're talking about?" I ask making G-Grave smiles knowingly.
​"In a week, the legendary event's about to appear." Said G-Grave dramatically making my eyes open wide.
​"The legendary event? You don't mean?" I asked awe
​"Yup, Ragnarok's coming. Since you been gone, many players have tried to level up as soon as possible trying to gain a high enough level to raise their defenses."
​"Ragnarok, the dragon of destruction. The legendary event that was put on hold for two years. What level will Ragnarok be?" I ask making G-Grave said, "He will be the very first boss to have over five hp bars."
​"Five? The Midnight Stalker only had four hp bars and so have most bosses." I said surprise making G-Grave nods his head.
​"With your skills you can clear Ragnarok as long as you have a good amount of potions." Said G-Grave as I navigated through the menus to look for the calendar.
​"A week from today?" I ask making G-Grave nods his head. "That will be on the 29th." I said looking at G-Grave and he nods his head once more.
​"All right thanks for the info. How much?" I ask making G-Grave raise his hands up saying, "Think of it as a welcome back present. Oh also if you do manage to beat Ragnarok, he drops the demon Sword Ragnarok along with an S-class crafting material." I nodded my head before taking out a blue crystal.
​"I guess till then, it's gold farming time."
​"Best place to farm gold will be..."
​"I know the dwarves' mine on the third floor." I said before raising the crystal saying, "Teleport: Eternia." I was teleported to the town of Eternia, a town belonging to Elves and Dwarfs. As I made my way to the dwarf mines in the back of the town, I head someone yelling my name.
​"Kira!" Yelled the girl voice and I recognize the voice belonging to Bella.
​"Hey." I said turning around to wave a hand as Bella began making her way towards me while dragging Eliza behind her.
​"Welcome back." Said Bella with a huge grin as Eliza began blushing and I smile.
​"Thanks." I said as Bella push Eliza closer to me.
​"We...welcome back Kira." Said Eliza shyly making me raise an eyebrow.
​"Thanks, Eliza." I said making her blush once more.
​"So what are you doing here on the third floor?" Asks Bella making me turn to look at her.
​"I'm actually on my way to the dwarf mine." I said making Bella said, "What a coincidence, Eliza was just talking about going there too. Maybe the two of you can go together?" My suspicion level grew but instead of commenting on it, I said, "Sure, I don't mind." This made Eliza look up at me.
​"There that settles it, Eliza you can go with Kira, I have something to do, so I'll be logging out now. Bye have fun." Said Bella pushing Eliza once more before turning around to enter an inn.
​"Should we form a party?" I ask Eliza making her nods her head before I sent her one.
​"So how do you like the game so far?" I ask her as we made our way towards the dwarf mines stopping here and there to greet other players who came to welcome me back.
​"It's been fun, but Bella's afraid of going to higher floors." Said Eliza making me nods my head.
​"Don't tell me you've been stuck on here ever since I was gone." I said making Eliza shook her head.
​"I've been trying to clear each floor as a solo player as much as I can but if I'm playing with Bella, we mostly stay on the fifth floor and under only."
​"Which floor have you manage to reach alone?" I ask making Eliza blush as she said, "Level ten."
​"And how many times have you died?"
​"Just a little over fifty."
​"That's great." I said making Eliza look at me with a look so I said, "I'm serious; I must have died like a hundred times before I reached level ten alone."
​"Are you serious?" Asks Eliza lightening up and I nodded my head saying, "I'm serious. I kept dying on level nine. I kept forgetting that the boss had an irregular attack pattern."
​"I had trouble with him too." Said Eliza before the two of us started laughing.
​"What did you need from the dwarf's mine?"
​"I'm farming for gold so that I'm able to buy potions for an upcoming event." I explained making Eliza nods her head understandingly.
​"Ragnarok?" she ask me as we enter the mine.
​"Yeah." I said before taking out a pickaxe.
​"Good luck." Said Eliza as we started hammering away on a crack on the wall.
​"Thanks." I said as a chunk of gold fell onto the floor. An hour later, I said, "This should be enough. Lets go back shall we?"
​"Ok." Said Eliza before we made our back to Eternia.
​"If you're not doing anything, I can help you with clearing floors?" I ask her making her nods her head.
​"Great, I have to get going but lets meet tomorrow in Gardenia say after lunch?" I ask making Eliza nods her head before I wave a hand to go into an inn to log out.
​As I opens my eyes, I saw a pair of brown eyes staring back at me.
​"What are you doing Jun?" I said making Jun jumps away in surprise.
​"Zeke, you scared me." Said Jun the embarrassment evident in her voice and I sat up removing the Neuro.
​"I should be the one to say that." I said standing up to place the Neuro on top of my desk.
​"I was just wondering if you wanted a match with me since lunch wasn't going to be ready for a while but when I came to ask you, you were already playing your game."
​"So you chose that moment to stare at me? I hope you didn't do anything weird to my body while I was in Megil." I said making Jun blush red as she said, "I didn't do anything."
​"Right." I said in a non-believable voice making Jun stood up to try to protest once more but I raise a hand to silence her saying, "You wanted a match right?" Jun nods her head saying, "Only it you're up to it of course."
​"I'm fine. I could use the exercise." I said making Jun smile.
​"I heard a rumor a while ago." Said Jun casually as we made our way towards the dojo.
​"Hmm, what kind of rumor?" I ask as we went to wear the equipment
​"That you beat up Kazuya and his gang." Said Jun as we finish gearing up and the memory flash in mind.
​"I was defending myself." I said making Jun raise her hands shaking them.
​"I didn't mean it like that; I knew you were defending yourself. I was just wondering how did you defend yourself." Ask Jun as she pass me a bamboo sword.
​"I was lucky enough to find a broken pool stick." I said taking the sword with my right hand.
​"I figure as much." Said Jun as she choose a bamboo sword.
​"Kazuya said that you used the combos from your game." Ask Jun as we went to stand in the middle of the dojo and I answer, "I wasn't thinking clearly that night."
​"I see. Ready?" Ask Jun holding her sword with two hands as I took the same position as our first match.
​"Ready." I said and Jun wasted no time. She charge forward swinging her sword toward my head but I easily block the attacks by raising my own sword up. Our swords lock onto each other and I could feel Jun pushing forward, so I began to push as well.
​"Much better." Said Jun as I smile before using my legs, push Jun away while swinging my sword. Jun made a jump backward before dashing towards me while raising her sword up targeting my head. I raise my sword to block the attack only to see Jun lowering her sword to attack my side. I smile before dropping my sword to catch the hilt of the sword using my left hand as Jun swept pass me hitting my sword.
​"One point." Said Jun turning around to see me shaking my head.
​"What you hit wasn't me but my sword." I said while holding my sword with the hilt up.
​"You used you left hand?" Asks Jun surprise and I smile, "There isn't any rules against using my left hand is there?"
​"No there isn't. I was just surprised." Said Jun as I switch hands.
​"This could work." I said holding the sword in my right hand before looking at Jun.
​"You ready?" I said pointing the tip of the sword at Jun and she smiles before running towards me. She made a side wards slash at me and I parry the attack by raising my sword to make Jun fly pass me. With my back towards her, Jun try to aim an attack to my left before I smile and toss the sword to my left hand to block the attack.
​"His left again." Said Jun jumping back as I turn around switching hands again. I made a dash towards her before raising my right hand up while I stick my left arm out. Jun raises her sword up using both hands as I drew closer. When I was about to reach her, I drop my sword only to catch it with my left hand to make a strike towards her open ribs.
​As soon as I made contact, we heard someone clapping and I turn around to see Senjuro standing by the open door. I stood up straight before bowing as Jun said, "Father."
​"That was a splendid match." Said Senjuro walking inside and I felt my cheeks go red.
​"Zeke, why didn't you tell me that you practice kendo also?" Asks Senjuro now standing in front me and I look at Jun for some help.
​"He don't father." Said Jun making her father look at her and I let out a breath of relief.
​"Well, I guess we all have our own secrets then. Your mother wanted me to tell you that lunch is ready." Said Senjuro addressing the both of us before he left to dojo.
​"I can't believe I lost." Said Jun as we began to take off our armor and I said, "I lost the last time, so think of it as a tie."
​"A tie huh." Said Jun smiling as we made our way out of the dojo towards the house.
​"Yes, and this match made realized something." I said making Jun look at me questionably and I just smile at her.
​"It's nothing for you to worry about, it's just about GSA." I said making Jun roll her eyes as she said, "Boys and their games." I only smile an answer as we enter the house for lunch.
​"Connect." I said once I was back in my room and I found myself inside GSA once more. I teleported to Zeus before making my way into the dark forest to find some monsters to test out a new theory. Once I found a monster, I raised Flametongue saying, "Gale force." Flametongue begins to glow red before I able to land the one handed sword technique making the monster screech once before turning to face me.
​As soon as the last hit made contact, I felt a warm sensation running throughout my body before I raise Icebrand saying, "Wrath of Zeus." Icebrand then glows blue before the system took over my body to land the one-handed sword technique on the monster. While I was making the attack, I felt my body cooling down as the monster thrust its spear at me but I was able to doge the attack by jumping back before raising Flametongue saying, "Gale Force."
​The monster let out a screech of pain before it disperse into shards.
​"So it is possible but I want to test this out on an even higher level monster." I said before I smile while taking out a teleportation crystal.
​"Teleport: Midgard." I said before the blue light engulfs me teleporting me to Midgard. I made my way towards G-Grave and when I reached him, I toss him ten gold pieces onto the table saying, "While I was gone, someone or anyone must have gotten to the ninetieth boss." Surprising G-Grave before he took the gold coins saying, "I smell a scoop." I rolled my eyes at him and waited until he finishes collecting the coins.
​"As a matter of fact, ten members of the Blue Dragons found the boss room just the other day. Of course, they all died before they could even drop the sucker's hp by half." Said G-Grave as I put a hand on my chin.
​"What other info do you have about the ninetieth boss?" I said taking out another ten gold coins but this time G-Grave raise a hand to stop me while saying, "I'll give you the info you're looking for free as long as I get to see you in action and report everything about your battle."
​"Fine, you'll just come even if I say no anyways." I said making G-Grave smile before he made his stand disappears.
​"The boss's name is Grimm Reaper, it carries only one weapon a gigantic scythe but it has the ability to become invisible. It has a total of five hp bars." Said G-Grave resting an elbow on my shoulder.
​"I see, you have a copy of the map don't you?" I ask making G-Grave said, "Of course and I know the safest route there too."
​"Great lets go then." I said as I turn around to make my way back to the teleportation altar with G-Grave following me. We step onto the teleportation altar before G-Grave said, "Teleport: Lunestra." The altar begins to glow bright blue making me close my eyes and when I open them again, I found myself standing in the teleporting altar of Lunestra.
​"The dungeon's over here." Said G-Grave stepping down the steps, making his way towards the east exit and I follow him.
​"I can tell you have something up your sleeves." Said G-Grave as we made our way towards the hills in the outskirts of the town.
​"Just a theory to make my fight with Ragnarok easier." I said as the entrance to the dungeon came into view making G-Grave smiles.
​"I just love these theories you come up with. Mind telling me?" Asks G-Grave in a hungry voice making me roll my eyes as I said, "Would you rather me talking about it or see it for yourself?"
​"See it of course." Said G-Grave as we enter the dungeon and I said, "Exactly."
​"Here we are." Said G-Grave as we made a stop in front of a giant black door as I turn to face him.
​"Teleportation Crystals wont work once we get in right?" I ask making G-Grave nods his head.
​"Even though, I hate having to die, a reporter must take risk like this once in a while." Said G-Grave dramatically and I shook my head before pushing the doors open. The doors made a loud creek as I push it and when it was fully opened; I step inside the dark room with G-Grave a step behind me.
​I narrow my eyes as the door closes behind me and fire begins to light up the room. I turn my head around and towards the ceiling trying to locate Grimm Reaper but when I couldn't see anything I turn to face G-Grave saying, "Are you sure no...." I stop talking as I felt a rush of wind blowing pass us.
​I stared out in front me as Grimm Reaper, a monster wearing a black hooded cloak slowly appears in front my eyes. In it's blacken skeleton hands was a scythe that was as big as its body and I unsheathed both of my swords while G-Grave ran to hide.
​"Don't you dare die. You hear me." Yelled G-Grave making me smile as I stared into the hood of Grimm Reaper.
​"Don't worry about a thing, G-Grave. I don't plan on dying in this game anymore." I said and as if Grimm Reaper had heard me, it raises its hands to swing its scythe towards me. I made a jump into the air before landing on the wall and using it as a lever, I push off the wall towards Grimm Reaper yelling, "Twilight Slash."
​As I was making slashes at the Reaper, I didn't notice him raising his scythe until it hit me sending me crashing into the wall. I lost a fourth of my hp bar as I fell onto the ground coughing. I look up in time to see the blade of the scythe and I was able to dodge roll out of the way. I begin to run towards the Reaper while raising Flametongue yelling, "Gale force."
​As the combo was finish, I raised Icebrand yelling, "Wrath of Zeus." I made the Grimm Reaper flew into the back wall with one bar of is HP lost.
​"I'm slowly getting the hang of this." I mutter as the Reaper glided towards me at full speed to swing its scythe at me. I made a jump to land on the blade before pushing of it raising both of my swords saying, "Twins dragon's dance." I flew towards the Reaper to make the twenty-five combo before I landed on the ground and the Reaper's life drop another bar.
​"Kira, once the Reaper's life gets to red, it will turn invisible!" Yelled G-Grave making me turn to look at him so that I didn't see the attack from the Reaper's scythe.
​"Damn." I said as I hit another wall and my life drops to the color orange.
​"I won't let you land another hit." I said before running towards the Reaper with Flametongue raise.
​"Gale Force." I said as I reach it and made the combo but as soon as I was about to land the last hit, I raise Icebrand saying, "Wrath of Zeus."
​"Twin Dragon's dance. Twilight Slash." I yelled combo after combo slowly making the Reaper's hp drop until it hit the red color. As I was about to land another attack, the Reaper's eyes glowed a bright red from inside its hood before making a slash towards me making me dodge roll. The Reaper then glides away before disappearing.
​"Damn." I said softy as I scan the room for any signs of the boss but I couldn't see anything. I began turning my head around before, and out of the corner of my right eye, I saw the blade of the scythe. I raise both my swords just in time to block the attack but I was still sent flying into the air.
​"Kira under you." Yelled G-Grave as I look down to see the Reaper gliding up towards me. I manage to dodge the attack in midair but as I was about to make a counter attack, the Reaper flew off while disappearing again. As I land on the ground, I grind my teeth together before looking around the room once more.
​As I turn to the left, I saw the blade of the scythe once more and instead of dodging, I parry the attack as I made a jump.
​"Twilight Slash." I said as I reach the Reaper to make the fifty hit combo. The Reaper let out a screech before its invisibly became undone and disperse into blue shards leaving the words "Congratulations." I fell onto my knees gasping for breath as G-Grave ran towards me saying, "That was incredible."
​"If I haven't seen it for myself, I wouldn't believe it. What gave you the idea to overcome the cool down bar by combining combos from duel wielding and one hander?" Ask G-Grave excitedly as I took out a potion before draining its contents.
​"Pretty cool isn't it?" I ask as the empty potion disperse in my hands and G-Grave sat down next to me.
​"Pretty cool? That was awesome. You are the reason why I love VRMMO." Said G-Grave still excited and I smile before standing up to help G-Grave up.
​"I got the idea while I was in the real world. I was having a kendo match with Jun, a close friend." I said making G-Grave nods his head as we made our way towards the dungeon door to activate the portal.
​"Tell your friend thanks. If it weren't for her? I wouldn't be able to experience such an awesome boss battle." Said G-Grave and I nodded my head.
​"Kira, you're ok with me putting this in my news right? Please tell me its ok." Begged G-Grave as we made our way to the nearest town.
​"Keep it a secret until after Ragnarok." I said making G-Grave hung his head before we enter the new town called, "Dragonmarsh."
​"Fine very well but I do get to report that you defeated Grimm Reaper by yourself." Said G-Grave as I updated my teleporting map with the teleportation stone in the middle of the town.
​"That's fine with me. I'll have to get going now. I'll see you...whenever I need something." I said after a slight pause before I enter the inn called, "Dragon's roosts."
