Part 6

Betty- (sobs) "I-I didn't mean anything Jug, I'm sorry"

He sat up and pulled her into his lap before rocking her softly

Jughead- (softly) "sh, I know Betts, it's okay"

She couldn't stop crying, the only power she had in her own body was the strength to hold on to him

It wasn't till over an hour later when she calmed down

Jughead heard her last little sniffle and kissed her forehead

Jughead- (softly) "are you okay?"

She nodded and closed her eyes again

Jughead- (softly) "do you want me to go"

She shook her head and pulled herself closer to him

Jughead- (softly) "we can stay here as long as you want"

She nodded into his chest as he tucked a piece of hair behind her ear

Jughead- (softly) "I've got you"

They stayed there for another half hour before Betty tried to stand up but lost her balance

Jughead- "Betts, you need to be careful. You're exhausted"

Betty- (quietly) "c-can you h-help me?"

Jughead- "of course, what do you need?"

Betty- (softly) "The couch, you and a movie again"

Jughead- (smiles) "that sounds good"

He carefully lead her to the couch and put on a movie

Betty- (softly) "thanks for taking care of me, I want to tell you but I can't. I'm sorry"

Jughead- "you don't have to tell me, I just want you to be okay. That also means that I want you to eat"

Betty- "but my mom said-"

Jughead- "I don't care what your mom said, I want you to healthy"

Betty- (sighs) "you're right Jug, I'm sorry"

Jughead- "it's okay Betts, let's just get you something small to start. What about a bowl of fruit?"

Betty- "o-okay. Thanks Jug"

He got up and brought her the bowl as she smiled softly

Betty- "why Jug? Why do care so much? Why aren't you like other people?"

Jughead- "because the way your parents talked to you was bull"

Betty- "I'm just glad to be away from them, even though it drastically changes my life"'

Jughead- "we'll be okay, I won't let you get hurt again"

Betty- (smiles) "I know, that's why I trust you"

She ate everything in the bowl that Jughead gave her before crawling back into his arms

Betty- (softly) "thank you, Archie didn't really notice that I was never eating"

Jughead- "is that your ex?"

Betty- (softly) "yeah, he's nice but a little bit oblivious"

Jughead- "he really didn't notice?"

Betty- (shakes her head) "no, he was too busy saving everyone else"

Jughead- "then he's an idiot, because anyone who looks past you is an idiot"

Betty- (giggles) "thanks Juggie"

Jughead- "Juggie? Where did that come from?"

Betty- (blushes) "well you gave me a nickname so I thought that I should give you one"

Jughead- "well I love it"

He pulled her close to him as she looked into his eyes
