Part 15

Betty and Jughead were asleep on the couch when they woke up to a pounding on the door

Betty- "what the hell? Who is that"

Jughead- "from the sound of that knock, your mother or a landlord"

Betty- "damn it, I forgot Polly would've seen my private story. She must've told her"

Jughead- (sighs) "let's get it over with"

He stood up to open the door and as soon as he did Alice stormed in with Hal following her

Betty- "yes mom, we got married. Isn't that what you wanted?"

Alice- "it is not, we had it planned! Mayor McCoy was going to be there"

Betty- "you were going to invite the mother of the girl who Archie cheated on me with?"

Alice- "we needed to prove that southsiders and northsiders could get along"

Betty- "why? Why is this so important?"

Alice- "because, the Coopers have always been in the shadow. This was our chance to prove that we can create peace"

Betty- "that is literally the stupidest thing I've ever heard, get out of my house and out of my life. You're the one who pushed me out so leave me alone"

Alice didn't speak, all she did was grab Betty's wrist and start pulling her

Betty- (in tears) "mom what are you doing?!"

Alice- "clearly you didn't learn your lesson at the sisters the first time, this time you'll listen"

Betty widened her eyes as she tried to free her mothers grip

Jughead- "Alice stop, you don't have that power anymore"

Alice- "she's my daughter"

Jughead- "and she's my wife, she doesn't want to be with you anymore so just leave"

Hal- "Alice maybe-"

Alice- "don't say a word, she's coming with us"

That's when Hal stood in between Alice and Betty and took Alice's hand off of her wrist

Hal- "she's here Alice, you drove her away with your crazy behaviour. We shouldn't have done this but our little girl is married and done with us. You need to except that"

Betty ran over to Jughead who held her close

Hal- "let's go"

He got Alice out of the apartment but kept the door open for a second

Hal- "I'm so sorry sweetheart, for everything"

Betty looked at Jughead then back at her father before running over and hugging him

Betty- (in tears) "I love you too dad. Thank you"

He hugged her back and kissed her forehead

Hal- "I should've stepped in sooner, I wish I didn't let her take you to that place"

Betty- (crys and smiles)"you stopped her this time"

Hal- "I'm going to check on you two but congratulations"

Betty- (sniffs) "thank you dad"

He left them in the apartment and it was silent for a second before Jughead slowly lifted his arms. She immediately ran into them wanting to feel his comfort

Jughead- (softly) "it's okay Betts, I'm here"

They sat down on the couch as she just cried into his chest until falling asleep again from exhaustion

Jughead kissed her head and carried her to their bed

Jughead- (whispered) "you're okay"

He laid down next to her and fell asleep. The next day they he woke up first and watched Betty for a minute before she woke herself

Betty- (smiles) "hey Juggie"

Jughead- "morning Betts"

They kissed before sitting up

Jughead- (softly) "are you feeling better this morning?"

Betty- "definitely, I've always waited for my dad to step in but I didn't think he actually would"

Jughead- "I'm just happy you're not at the sisters again, I'm so sorry that I didn't get you out of there"

Betty- "Jug, you didn't even know who I was. It's okay I promise"

Jughead- "I know, I just feel bad"

Betty- "can I make you feel better?"

She kissed him as he grabbed her hip and pulled her closer to him

Jughead- "are you sure Betts? You said you wanted to wait"

Betty- "I also said I didn't want to get married but here we are"

She got on top of him as she took off his shirt

Jughead- "you promise you won't regret this?"

Betty- "not at all, I love you"

Jughead- (smiles) "I love you too"

A couple hours later they were on the couch doing what they always did

Betty- (giggles) "we're going to run out of movies Jug"

Jughead- "that's okay, we can always watch tv shows"

Betty- "well, I have school tomorrow so we get a break then"

Jughead- "you'll be okay?"

Betty- "as long as no one finds out that I got married at eighteen then we shouldn't have a problem"

Jughead- "ashamed of me Cooper?"

Betty- "first of all, it's Jones now. Second It's just a little weird, that's all"

Jughead- "I get it Betts, whatever you're comfortable with"

Betty- (smiles) "you're so patient with me Jug, I love you"

Jughead- "I will never ever get tired of hearing that"

Betty- "I'll never get tired of hearing it"

Two months after graduation

Betty- (crys) "fuck!"
