After a while, I sense her weight against me. Glancing down, I find her asleep. I offer a sad smile, gently lifting her into my arms and carrying her to the bedroom, where I lay her down on the bed. Sitting beside her, I cradle her head in my lap.

"Mera Laddoo," I whisper, pressing a kiss to her forehead, and continue to sit there, gently stroking her hair.

...

Shifting to adjust, I wince from the pain in my back and neck, the result of sitting in that position all night. Opening my eyes, I stretch my back, only to realize she's not beside me. My heart races as I frantically search the room.

"Laddoo?" I call out, rising from the bed and checking the bathroom, then the balcony, but she's not there. Panic sets in, and I rush outside, calling her name in desperation, searching every corner of the house like a madman. Fear grips me, refusing to let me stay calm. I'm utterly terrified.

"Karan, kya hua?" Abeer asks, rushing towards me.

"Abeer, voh la..ladoo..." I try to explain without panicking.

"Kya hua teju ko?" Mish asks.

"Mujhe pata nahi chala kab neend lag gayi, subah utha toh laddoo room main nahi hai," I explain.

"Damn it, where did she go, doll?" He rushes outside. I keep repeating one mantra in my mind: "Please be safe, please be safe." Don't do anything stupid, Laddoo.

"Karan guards ne kaha doll bahar nhi gayi hai, back door bhi close hai matlab woh ghar pr hi hai," Abeer instructs as he enters the house.

"Bhai kahi nahi mil rahi, pura ghar dekh liya," Mish confirms.

"Kaha ho tum laddoo?" I murmur. Suddenly, I remember the terrace and rush towards it.

As I open the terrace door, the ground feels like it slips from beneath my feet, leaving me frozen in place. The sight before me is terrifying, sending shivers of fear down my spine.

Laddoo is standing on the railing, poised to jump. No, no, no. Without uttering a word or making a sound, I slowly approach her, grasp her hand, pull her down, and deliver a hard slap.

All the calm and patience I had held onto evaporates the moment I witness her contemplating such an act.

"What the fuck you think you are doing? Pagal ho gayi ho? Mann to kar raha aur ek," I raise my hand again, ready to strike, but Abeer intervenes, pushing me back.

"Karan, have you lost your mind?" He tightly embraces her, shielding her from me. I'm consumed with anger, unable to contain it, and I forcefully strike my hand against the wall. My fury intensifies as I see her still lost in her own world, unaffected.

"Bas, bohot hua. Aaj toh ya sab khatam hoga ya sab theek," I declared firmly, seizing her hand and beginning to pull her away, but Abeer intervened, grasping her other hand.
