Rajveer's Pov

After winning the teddy bear, we started strolling around the shops. She stopped at a jewellery store, her eyes lighting up as she browsed through the collection of jhumkas. I stood beside her, watching her excitement. She selected a pair and was about to try it on when I snatched it from her grasp. Startled, she looked at me with surprise, but undeterred, I sought out another pair for her.

With a smile, I found a charming oxidized jhumka adorned with intricate mirror work. Handing it to her, I encouraged, "Try this one." Yet, she continued to gaze at me, suspicion evident in her narrowed eyes. "Kya? Try karo. Voh tum par achha nahin lagega," I persisted when she hesitated.

"Tumse poocha maine?" she asked, her skepticism growing.

"Par main keh raha hun na, voh tum par suit nahi karega, yeh achha lagega. Try karo," I reasoned, but her reluctance persisted. Finally, I stepped closer to her, gently placing the jhumka on her ear and showing her the reflection in the mirror.

"Dekho kitna accha dikh raha hai, hai na?" I said, observing her staring at me. And in that moment, it's as if someone pressed pause on our eyes, and we got lost in it. I could feel different unsaid emotions inside me. Our eye lock broke by the shopkeeper's voice.

"Main kar dun, sir?" he asked.

"Haa bhaiya pack kar do aur kitna hua?" I paid him. But she didn't wait for me and walked out from there. Quickly taking a packet from him, I went behind her. But she stopped, seeing something, and her eyes started to well up.

I followed her gaze, and it was an evil eye pendant chain. I closed my eyes tightly when something started to flash in front of my eyes. A boy was making a girl wear some pendant, but their faces were not clear. Feeling the pain in my head, I shook my head and opened my eyes, trying to ignore it.

I went and bought a pendant chain for her. She still didn't notice what I was doing, lost in her thoughts. I made her wear it. It was easy for me to make her wear it as her hair was tied in a bun. Her trance broke when she felt it. She looked down at her neck, then at me.

"Ye mujhe kyun pehnaya tumne?" she asked me, and I frowned. Now what should I say? Why did I make her wear it? I don't even know.

"Aa.. Vo vo ha mujhe Tanvi ke liye lena tha, to main usse pehle dekhna chahta tha kaise dikhega, isiliye maine tum par try kiya," Fuck, what excuse did you give, Rajveer? But why am I buying it for her? Tanvi is my fiancée, but am I here taking it for her, leaving her behind? What am I doing?

"Oh," I can see some hint of sadness in her eyes for a split second. She is going to remove the pendant, but I stop her.

"Rehne do na, please," I plead, and she lets go of it. And just after that, Vikram and Suhani walk towards us.

"Bhai, mujhe chakkar aa rahe hain," he said, leaning on me completely sideways.

"Kyun? Kya hua?" I ask, holding him from his shoulder.

"Kuch nahi, bhai. Apka bhai bahut nazook aur darpok hai. Bade jhule par baithne se dar raha tha, aur jab main jid kar bithaya to chakkar aane lag gaye," Suhani said, laughing, and Vikram sighed.

"Ha to ayenge hi na pagal. Bhai bhuk lagi hai chalo na kuch khate hai," he said, rubbing his stomach, and I slap his head, chuckling, and look at my side for her, but she isn't there.

"Yeh kaha gayi?" I said, looking around for her.

"Kon?" Suhani asked, confused.

"La.. Tejasswi," I said, still trying to find her.
