I gently tap on her room door, and there she stands before me, with tousled hair and red, swollen eyes, cheeks flushed like ripe tomatoes. She must have cried a lot, my poor sweetheart. I could see the pain in her eyes, knowing she had been crying every day, yet realizing who I am and what she means to me makes it hard to keep my distance. I ache to hold her in my arms, but I must restrain myself a little longer.

"Tum?" she asks, her eyes widening at the sight of me.

"Andar aa sakta hun?" She steps aside, allowing me entry. I make my way to her bed and take a seat.

"I hope you're okay," I inquire, studying her.

"Mujhe kya honga? Chot to tumge lagi thi, tum theek ho?" she responds, standing at a distance, avoiding eye contact. Ah, so she won't even look at me now.

"Main theek hoon. Abeer ne mujhe bataya tum sab kal vapas jaa rahe ho," I observe her, noticing every tremor, every effort to contain herself. Stubborn girl, she won't give in so easily.

"Han, Mumbai branch mein kaam hai, aur Aashu ki school bhi miss ho rahi hai isliye," she explains, clenching her fists.

"Meri shaadi tak rukogi nhi tum?" I question, gazing at her intently.

"Hum tere bin
Ab reh nahi sakte
Tere bina kya vajoodh mera"

She glances at me briefly, then shifts her gaze downward, licking her lips in an attempt to hold back her tears.

"N-nahi."

"Kyun? Tum toh meri dost ho aur partner bhi. Meri shaadi bhi kuch hi dino mein hai, tum bina shamil hue chali jaogi, mujhe achha nahi lagega," I explain, hoping for some kind of response from her.

"Hum tere bin
Ab reh nahi sakte
Tere bina kya vajoodh mera"

"I... I'm sorry, Raj... Rajveer, lekin main nahi... nahi ruk paungi," she stammers, and inwardly, I can't help but chuckle.

"It's okay, no problem. Even if you won't attend, I'm sure you'll be happy and wish us a lifetime of togetherness, right?" I say, my frustration growing. She clenches her fists and walks to the window, staring outside.

"Haa"

"Tujh se juda agar ho jayenge
Toh khud se hi ho jayenge juda"

I glance to my right and notice our photo frame there. I pick it up, gazing at it as I address her.

"Tum apne Sunny se bahut pyaar karti ho, na?" I inquire, noticing her tense reaction, but she nods slowly.

"Kyunki tum hi ho
Ab tum hi ho
Zindagi ab tum hi ho"

"Par tumne kaha ki tumhara Sunny do saal se gayab hai, to kya tumhe lagta nahi tumhe ab move on karna chahiye?" I say, and she looks at me from the corner of her eye, still not facing me.
